Happy Days | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Hello and Happy belated New Year! I'm back today and ready to kickstart my creative shares for Cocoa Vanilla Studio in 2019.

For this new share I've used the most recent collection Midnight and created a super quick 8.5 x 11 inch size layout. The perfect size to document a quick story during this busy season of life.

I've found that these smaller size layouts are perfect when I'm stuck for time to create, and the subtle patterns within the midnight collection pair so well with a cute black and white photo.

Leila's been LOVING her time at home over the last few weeks, especially when she can create to her hearts content. She's been creating signs, pictures, forts and clubhouses.

The main feature of the layout consists of the photo layered with a small and large piece of the cut apart paper MIXED BLESSING, with the larger B side piece acting as a base for all the bits and the smaller pink pattern piece used as a photo mat. I've tucked a floral ephemera piece and a 'take note' tab both from the ephemera pack into these layers and then created a large title using words from both the chipboard accents and die cut titles packs.

Under the title I've added a few handwritten words for journalling and then to the right of all this is a large floral ephemera piece to complement the other florals on the layout.

Along the top and bottom of the layout I've used strips of paper from the 6x8 paper pad. Patterns used are the smaller versions of INSPIRED and SOPHISTICATED. At the top I added a frame and flag from the ephemera pack and a sticker from the accessory sheet.

Along the bottom I've added a couple more pieces from the ephemera pack to create a cluster which helps to tie the layout all together. I've also splattered a little gold ink cause I just can't help myself.

Well scrappy friends thats all from me today, I hope this has inspired you to create something magical.

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Wonderful Memories | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello! It's that time of the month when I get to share a new layout with you all, this one again is featuring the fantastic Midnight Collection for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Love Love LOVING the colours in this collection! Are you? I sure do hope so ;)

I've created a smaller size layout for this week, an 8.5x11 inch size to be exact. I wanted to create something super quick and straight to the point using a fun photo of Leila (as usual) from a couple months ago. I started with a piece of white cardstock and added a strip of the SHINE BRIGHT wood grain paper down the left side. I backed my photo using some of the reverse pattern on the SHINE BRIGHT paper, this time from the 6x8 paper pad. These mini papers are a perfect size to mat a photo onto and even better for layering multiple patterns together. Behind the photo I added a doily from my stash, something I've not done for quite some time.

Cheeky little Miss was pretending to be 'Queen of the World' on top of a rock HAHA. I added an ephemera piece to the top of the photo using my tiny attacher then adhered the photo and doily to the layout using some foam for slight dimension. I then tucked a tag and circular ephemera piece in a cluster top right of the photo. I've shared a closer look below.

I created my title using a couple of pieces from the ALL THIS THINGS cut apart paper. Love using this technique to create titles. You can see in the close up below that I've added a couple of clear stickers below and to the right of the title cluster for a little extra detail.

Lastly I worked on the main cluster above the title using pieces of ephemera, chipboard and a couple more clear stickers to finish it off. I find using repetitive elements within clusters helps to bring the layout all together.

Well scrappy friends, thanks so much for stopping by again today. It was a short and sweet share that I hope has inspired you in some way.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Take care, Michelle x

Be a Flamingo | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello hello! I'm back today with a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio inspired by my previous crafty share. I've used the Exclusive collection we received at retreat back in May to document a funny photo of Leila in yet another crazy outfit.

I felt the choice of using both this photo and the exclusive collection together would work wonders, especially with the Flamingo quote. The colours in the collection worked so well with the colours of the dress Leila is wearing (on top of her trackies and finished off with some sparkly shoes)

To create the layout I used one main strip of the black and white paper vertically down the page, then a large banner of woodgrain paper over the top.

Next I layered the photo with some tropical print paper, the flamingo quote and a doily over the top of the large pieces of paper. The expression on her face is hilarious! Such a 'tough' girl HAHA

I tucked in a few pieces from the ephemera sheet in the collection kit, and some enamel shapes from past collections

Lastly a word sticker and some black ink splatters and I was done. Such a super quick layout to create and I'm really happy with the outcome. Another crazy outfit photo documented!

Thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by.
Until next time, happy scrapping,

Good Vibes | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Hello! I'm back here today to share another creation for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Another layout made at the recent Creative Escape retreat using a new and exclusive collection of goodies just for retreat attendees. Perfect for scrapping photos of the amazing view we had each day on our walk down to breakfast.

The venue itself was amazing, including this view on our way down to breakfast each morning. If you get the chance to join us next year, you definitely should!

The design of the layout came together pretty quickly, starting with a full sheet of the sweet spotty paper for the background, a few different pattern papers layered together to create the photo stack and a couple small clusters. To create the photo stack I cut a banner out of one pattern, tore the bottom of another, added the photo to a 3rd complimenting pattern and then layered them all together and raised them off the paper using foam for dimension.

I tucked a piece of a journal card into the top of the photo, and created a cluster top left using a fussy cut floral piece from a journal card, die cut heart from the ephemera pack, stickers from the sticker sheet, a couple of enamel dots from other Cocoa Vanilla Studio Collections.

I really could have stayed at this resort forever, that view never looked bad, and those stickers best represented how I felt the entire time I was there. Really really good company, food and excellent times!

The ephemera pack contained the perfect words to use as my title. Good Vibes - very very good vibes!

Lastly I created one last small cluster using a couple of stickers, more die cut ephemera an exclusive flair and some enamel dots and splattered the page with some gold ink.

Thats all from me today, I hope you've enjoyed seeing a little snippet of what we were spoilt with at retreat. Both the amazing view and exclusive products. Be sure to keep an eye out on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio page for information on when the next retreat may be.

Until next time, happy Scrapping!

Sweet Snapshots | D-lish Scraps

Hello Hello! It's time for a new layout to share, and todays is a fun one! This one is for D-lish Scraps and follows along with the current Inspiration Board. The colour blue and star shapes are definitely up there with my most favourites for creating, so I really had fun creating this.

I went with a smaller layout size like my last creation and mirrored the sketch image on the board to create a diagonal design in the opposite direction to the one shown below.

Rather than a couple of massive stars, I went a little crazy with some left over pieces of cut file from a while back as sadly I have run out of the fun Creative Cut star shapes that you can find HERE in store

SO many layers within this photo stack. Including a NOTE Journal It ticket tucked in with the words I'd captioned this photo with on Instagram.

Such sweet moment captured and recorded. This girl was so sweet for her mumma while I was recovering back in December.

At the top of the layout I created a mini cluster of sorts with a circle Journal It, a piece of Ombre wordfetti and a glitter enamel star (these were in a pack that are no longer available, but there are plenty more awesome glitter dots available HERE)

I created a similar cluster at the bottom of the layout using items from the top and a Flair button from THIS set of mixed Script words

Lastly a super quick title using the 'Sweet' Creative Cut word from the Script Words pack and a piece of Ombre wordfetti. I also splattered some black ink around the page and then called it done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope this has inspired you in some way. Be sure to stop by the Scrap Suite to share with us everything that you create with D-lish Scraps goodies!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

First Day Crazies | Scrap The Girls

Hello crafty friends! I'm back again today with a new layout share for Scrap the Girls and can I say WOAH it was a challenge! But also, MARCH? Where did the last 2 months go?

Can you guess the challenge from this sneak peek? OR have you already seen the challenge shared on the Scrap The Girls blog..

Well here it is, in all its challenging wonderfulness

"Don't Mess with me" is full on! And I love it as it was a challenge that allowed me to step out of my comfort zone of pretty feminine pinks. I still managed to add a couple florals in there, and stuck as true to my style as possible. The colours were perfect for scrapping a school photo for Leila too, so I just went with that, rather than following along with any specific theme

Here's the full layout, which I scrapped in the 8.5x11 size. This size allows me to document a memory super quick!

This kid! So much fun, and so many laughs. Even when were trying to be serious lol

I've used a mixture of papers from an older Amy Tangerine collection and the Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection - Hello Sunshine. The colours within both collections were right in line for this challenge, even if I added a few extra shades of them.

I created the title at the same time as creating this rather large photo stack. I sewed the alphas down to keep them attached and to add an little extra detail to the layout.

To finish the layout off I created a couple of mini clusters using pieces from the Cocoa Vanilla collection (puffy stickers, flair button, ephemera piece, accessory sticker and enamel dots)

And lastly an extra long sticker along the bottom of the layout with some added stitching to finish it all off.

Thats all from me today, be sure to check out the Scrap the Girls blog to see the other team members layouts!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping

Hello Kmart Fun | D-lish Scraps

Hello Scrappy Friends! I'm back again today with my final layout share for this month, this one is for D-lish Scraps. I've chosen to scrap a smaller size layout and followed along with the sketch from the current Cyber Crop that was designed by Owner/designer Amanda.

I've used some papers from a limited edition range by Cocoa Vanilla Studio that complimented the photo of Leila that I chose to scrap. A fun moment in Kmart when little Miss was trying on all the funny massive animal heads.

I created mini clusters of my favourite D-lish goodies including Little Birdie flowers, a D-lish flairOmbre wordfetti and some faceted enamel dots.

To create the title I used some words from the Script Words Creative cuts set and some alpha stickers that were in store months ago.

To the right of the photo I created another cluster using pieces from the other cluster plus a shiny puffy gold heart from a past Just Add Paper kit. I also tucked in part of an older journal it card to balance out the purple colour that was in the other cluster.

All this came together pretty quickly thanks to the fun sketch that I followed along with. Heres a closer look at it, and a link to where you can find all the current Cyber crop challenges..

Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to share your challenge layouts with us in the Scrap Suite so we can see what you've created!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Love you THIS much | D-lish Scraps

Hello D-lish friends & fans! I'm back today with a new layout share for D-lish Scraps that was super quick to create. Love when you get an idea that comes together so well. For this layout I've scrapped some mini photos of my 2 loves on an 8.5x11inch layout

I chose the smaller size layout as lately I've been struggling with ideas on how to fill the page with different ideas and products, and I tend to keep doing the same things over and over again. So with this smaller size layout, I felt I had achieved something great. I chose a couple of the Scribble circle with stars Creative Cuts and popped them off the background in 3 places using some foam tape. In each of the 2 larger circular pieces Ive added the photos, and in the largest circle I also added an extra Creative cut as the title for the layout. This piece was within the December advent calendar.

In the top left piece I've added a couple of labels from a past Just Add paper kit, a pick n place bow, faceted enamel dotsLittle Birdie flower and a star shape creative cut to complete the cluster.

To balance out the clusters on the page I created this tiny one with some more of the Little Birdie flowers an enamel dot and creative cut pieces.

These 2 are seriously so much fun (most of the time HAHA)

Lastly I added a couple of bits from past Just Add Paper kits to form the base of this cluster, then added another star Creative CutLittle Birdie flower, enamel dots and some ink splatters to finish it all off.

I've not added any journalling as I felt the page was just right as is, but if in future I felt like adding any I would add it to the back of the layout.

Well thats all from me today, short and sweet for this post, thanks for stopping by to check it out!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping.

Unforgettable FUN | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Hello! I'm back here with a fun new layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio as part of our Scrap Christmas without a Christmas collection theme. This was a fun challenge to create with and I really enjoyed dipping back into some of the older collections.

You might also notice that I've gone down a size with my layout for today. Partly inspired by Raquel's inspiring 8.5x11 creations but mainly due to having tiny xmas photos printed for a previous project that I didn't want to go to waste, but also didn't to lose on a larger 12x12 layout.

I've gone with a crazy star theme by creating some strands of stars hanging from the top of the layout. These were fussy cut from the ROCK STAR paper in the Made of Awesome collection and I added a couple of larger sticker stars from the Accessory sheets in the same collection and also the Hello Sunshine collection. I completed the layout with the photo, a doily from my stash and some stickers all grouped together towards the bottom and the addition of some typed journalling. I really enjoyed how quickly this all came together once I finished fussy cutting lol

I backed the entire layout with some of the STAR SPANGLED paper from the Colour Me Happy collection. You see I'm a little obsessed with the star shapes and really did go a little crazy with them on this layout LOL

Here's a close up of the photo and title cluster, I've used a cut apart card from the MIXED UP paper in the Made of Awesome collection underneath the photo. The enamel dots I've used all over the layout are from the Make a Wish collection, and Colour Me Happy.

And lastly a quick couple of typed lines talking about Christmas morning last year. Her smile definitely lit up the room she was that excited and happy! Cannot wait to see her reactions this year.
Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping xx

Just because scrapping

Hello fellow crafters
If you couldn't already tell, Ive been on quite a creative streak.. Most of the layouts Ive been sharing were all made at the end of June/Start of July.. Ive still got plenty more to share too!

Up first for today is
YOU ARE OUR SUNSHINE
I put this layout together using the February cupcake kit I was hoarding in my stash from A Piece of Cake Designs. I've layered up papers, from the Fresh Cut collection by Basic Grey, under my photo with a vellum bag and my favourite doily from Studio Calico. Finished off with a few embellishments and splatters of the lime coloured mist from the kit and I thought I was done. I felt it needed a little extra colour, so I cut the white card stock down slightly and matted it onto some green pattern paper (from an unknown source as it was in my stash without a label) then sewed around all 4 sides of the layout.

Next up is a layout that started with a bit of fun with distress ink daubers..
PHOTO BOOTH FUN
I LOVE a good splattering of distress ink, and for this layout I thought it would be fun to use just that and no pattern papers. I printed my photos out at 1.8inch squares and then layered them up in different ways on top of some vellum. I added some strips of glitter paper in random places, sewed a couple of lines through the splatters, and added my title. Im still yet to go back and add the date to that strip from D-Lish Scraps.

Thanks for stopping by, more to share very soon
