Cherish Forever & Ever | Masters Challenge 6 - Scrap FX

Hello Hello!
Sorry it's been a little while between posts, I've not had a chance to create anything the last few weeks. Life has been a little crazy!

Today I thought I would share another Masters creation for Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. This was for the Scrap FX challenge

We were sent a generous amount of items to create something wonderful. I combined this with some pretty products from the Free Spirit collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Here's a closer look at what I created..

I chose to document a fun moment of Leila and her teddy bear playing Princess and the King. So much imaginative play happening at this age. I love it!

I tried to layer in as many elements from the challenge pack as possible, while keeping true to my style. I don't generally use a lot of chipboard items, so my techniques in altering things are kept quite simple.

I altered the 'Doodad's with white gesso and silver glitter paste, then cut them in half and placed them either side of the page. The Native Flora frame has been covered in white gesso with a hint of shimmery sparkle, and the film strip transparency worked well with one from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio ephemera pack..

I really wanted to try something a little different for the feather, and because it takes months for fun new products to turn up on Aussie soil, I experimented. I wanted to MINC the chipboard by using a MINC toner pen and some co-ordinating foil to match the other products I was using. First I coated the chipboard in gesso so that the toner didn't soak in, then I did 2 coats of the toner pen. Wait to dry between coats then run through the MINC with your chosen foil colour. It turned out pretty awesome.

I've used the flourish stamp under a mini cluster, made up of one of the Cherish words and a sprinkling of Cocoa Vanilla Studio items..

I tried to keep embellishments to a minimum so that the Chipboard pieces had a chance to stand out, so the last few finishing touches were made with some enamel dots and gold color shine splatters..

That's all from me today, thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to check back soon for more scrappy fun!

Bye for now

M for Michelle | D-lish Scraps

Hello and welcome back to my last share for this month.

Today I went in a completely different direction..

I emptied out my entire stash of paper flowers, grabbed some new silver foil tape and a plain Heidi Swapp marquee light and got a little hot glue gun crazy..

I absolutely love how this has turned out, even though there may be a few slight imperfections.

I've used all my favourite colours and flower types from the store
CarnationsForget Me Nots & Pastel Petals, along with a couple of others that are no longer available

I curled most of the stems underneath the flowers to help give dimension within the light box, this also assisted in giving the glue something to stick to. Some of the stems I curled and pack out from behind random flowers. I also poked some Stamens into random empty areas

Perfect little accompaniment to this K-mart light box on my bench

Thanks so much for stopping by

Creative Cards | D-lish Scraps

Hi Again everyone!
It's a super quick D-lish Scraps post from me today.
I've been enjoying stepping outside the "layout" box each month and sharing something different with you all. I'm still not convinced that I'm a card maker, but I think these turned out pretty good..

I kept them quite simple, and based them on the colours from the Inspiration board.
I got a little creative with a cut file and had maybe a little too much fun with my Minc...

For this card Ive used a felt doily, resin butterfly and some cardfetti strips

and for this card again I've used my Minc.. and teamed it up with some hand dyed muslin, a resin birdenamel shapes and a cardfetti strip

A little note to apologise
While linking products up in this post, I've just realised the felt doilies and Hand dyed Muslin are both no longer stocked. I'm pretty bad at hoarding things I really like and using them too late to share lol

Again thank you for stopping by to see my creations
Back tomorrow with one last 'Off the page' Creation! Cant wait to show you all
Happy Crafting ;)

Bedo Minion | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone!! Can you believe how fast these months are flying past??
Time needs to slow down right?

Today I have a layout based on our newest D-lish Scraps Inspiration board 'Sweet and Sassy'
I absolutely LOVE the colours chosen for this month! I had so many ideas forming from the different pictures on the board, that I couldn't decide which direction to go in LOL

Here's another look at the board that was shared in yesterday post

And this is what I came up with..
The layout is documenting a fun little moment shared with Leila, who is obsessed with all things minion! Apologies for the faint printed typewriter text, I'm yet to look for a replacement :(
I took inspiration from the tassels, the butterflies and the pops of gold on the board, and I chose not to follow the sketch this month due to the paper choice I went with.

Here's some close ups

For the cluster top left I've grouped together: Journal it's, a flair buttonresin flower and enamel shape along with a glitter enamel dot & thicker from my stash.

For the main cluster I've used some twine and other stretchy cotton from my stash to make tassels, I paired these up with a sparkly sequin bow, butterfly charm, wordfetti stripresin flowerenamel shape and a wood button & Dusty Attic chipboard piece that are both covered in glitter paste, and a sneaky doily tucked under all the layers..

Lastly I kept this area pretty simple as the page was quite full on as it is, so Ive clustered the title, journalling and an arrow paperclip (I cut the clip part off so that it would sit flat on the page) with a splattering of HS Color shine and a Kaisercraft epoxy heart

and another close up of that cute funny face! Seriously such a time waster this kid!! And I love it :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to check back tomorrow for my next share
Until then, Happy Scrapping

Blanket Forts | Scrap the Girls

Hello Hello!! Exciting news to share today!!

WOO HOO!! I'm so honoured to have been chosen to join this amazing team! Monthly challenges (sketch and mood boards) teamed with ONLY scrapping layouts of Girls?? Easy! That's what I love to do ;)

Today I'm sharing the first layout I've made as part of the team, and this month we were given a Mood Board to be inspired by..

I love this colour palette as it's not one I tend to use for layouts very often, if at all. However I'm quite drawn to these colours for their cool tones with a tiny POP of sunshine. From the design side of the board, I was inspired by the flowers and the top right design, so I wanted to blend these into the design of my page.

I chose a photo of Leila that was easy to edit and print in black and white, so as not to clash with the colour scheme I was using. It's one of my recent favourites of her, being cute as she normally is

To start I chose a 12 x12 file from the Silhouette library software to use on the left side of my layout. I turned it on a diagonal and cropped most of it off to create a strip. I backed this with multiple different pattern papers from many different 6x6 paper pads I've been hoarding for quite some time... I'm bad at that lol.

Next I gathered some floral cut file pieces from my Cocoa Vanilla Studio cut file stash (linked at bottom of the post) and backed these with more co-ordinating papers. I kept some of these plain for layering.

Next up I dipped into my stash of 'hoarded' alphabet stickers, some I've had in my collection for almost 5 years!! Crazy, yet useful when you need a certain type of alphabet ;)

Lastly I scattered some embellishments from my D-lish Scraps stash and called it done.

Love how it turned out! I'm really enjoying creating with cut files lately. They really get the creativity flowing, and can add that perfect touch of dimension to a page.

I'm so excited to be part of this team for the next few months! Be sure to head to the Scrap the Girls blog to see the rest of the teams creations and see whats on offer for this months winner..

For now, Happy Scrapping
