Baby Frame Gift Idea | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone! Today I have a new creative share for D-lish Scraps. I've done something a little different using tonnes of my favourite flowers from the D-lish Shop, along with a mix of other bits and bobs.

Now I can't take credit for this idea as it's Inspired by another creative soul. I saw her post within a group on Facebook a few weeks back and just knew it was the perfect idea for a personalised gift for a work friend who has recently had a baby.

Using Silhouette Studio, I've created the text background and cut it out on white cardstock, then backed it with different shades of pink pattern papers. Next I created the CRAZY Cluster of florals in varying colours, sizes and textures on top of some Hand Dyed Muslin and pieces of a lace doily. I've also scattered in some enamel glitter dots around the cluster and added a resin bird, then lastly a sequin bow and a couple more flowers on the bottom right.

Here's some close ups..

There are so many choices in florals within the Store, and the selection I've used is only a handful of them. My favourite go to florals lately have been the Elegance and Fantasy fabric bloomsMagnolias,  Pastel Petals & Forget Me Nots. I've also mixed in a couple of older style florals in bright pink.

These sequin Butterflies are so pretty! And the perfect finishing touch to add a bit of sparkle to that massive cluster.

Another favourite of mine - the mini enamel dots, especially the glitter ones! I wish they came in packets of mini dots only as they're the ones I used up first.

Well thats all from me today, I hope you like this floral craziness I seem to be stuck in lately!

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Hip Hip Hooray | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone! Today I thought I would share a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring my all time favourite collection Make a Wish. The perfect collection for documenting a certain 6 year olds birthday. I love the bright colours within this collection, along with stunning florals that work so well with the floral cut files from the Colour Me Happy collection. If I could create with this collection every day, I'd be one happy lady!

I wanted the cut file to be a main feature on the page, so I've sized it to approximately 10 inches long in Silhouette Studio and once cut, placed it diagonally across the bottom right corner of the photo stack. I've backed the main flower pieces of the cut file with the Daydream & 'b' side of Hip Hooray papers. I've also used the same pattern papers in layers under the photo along with a doily. Both the photo stack and cut file piece have been raised up off the page with foam adhesive tape to create some dimension off the page.

In the top left corner of the photo stack I've added a couple of pieces from the ephemera pack and some of my favourite Enamel Dots, along with pieces from the bottom of one of the paper name strips. These are perfect to tuck into layers on layouts.

Rather than gluing the entire cut file to the pattern papers, I've stapled in place. This enables the cut file to bend up slightly to add shadowing and a little extra dimension to the layout.

Continuing the floral theme, I've tucked in some die cut florals from the ephemera pack around the cut file, along with a tag and twine, word stickers and the Eat cake flair button

Next I created the title by fussy cutting the words 'Hip Hip Hooray' from the Loot Bag paper and sewed them down in place. I really like the finishing touch this adds to my layouts.

Lastly I added this little cluster to the top left of the page to even out the 'visual triangle'.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope this has given you some form of inspiration to take away and create with.
Until next time, happy scrapping!

First Day of School | The Cut Shoppe

Hi Everyone! Today I'm here to share a new layout for The Cut Shoppe featuring the You've Been Schooled cut file. It was the perfect chance for me to use it as Leila started school a few weeks back.

Like most of my layouts, I've made the cut file a HUGE focal point on the page. I backed the design with papers from the new Wild at Heart collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, then hand stitched in random places to create a little extra texture. The entire cut file piece, along with the photo stack, were then popped up from the background paper with foam tape to create some dimension. I've fussy cut some butterflies from pattern papers within the collection to use as embellishments, and added in a few die cut pieces from the ephemera pack, plus glitter dots to finish the layout off.

Here's a look at the Cut file set I chose the title from. Theres plenty more fun designs to use within this one set, so its well worth talking a look at if you have school aged children

Here's some close ups of the layout

I've used the inner cut piece from the star on the right of the cut file within a cluster on the left of the photo. I try to do this with most cut files to avoid too much paper waste.

I've used crochet thread in multiple places around the file by either stitching multiple times or tying it together

I had some extra photos from the day so rather than use them on a completely different layout, I've shrunk them down and used them within the O's of the word school.

That's all form me today, thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out The Cut Shoppe Etsy store for all your cut file needs, theres so much to choose from!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Love this little stinker | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone! Sharing for D-lish Scraps here today and I've gone back in time and scrapped some photos of Leila from 2013.. Such a sweet little face that always keeps us entertained, and that just started school! Cannot believe how fast the days go by!

For this layout I've chosen a rainbow assortment of goodies from the D-lish store. There's some new release items and some of my all time favourites. Like my recent Cybercrop page, I've steered clear of using any pattern papers to ensure the D-lish products and the photos take centerstage. I kept the main focus of the layout towards the centre of the page, following a horizontal design and kept the white background as is, with a few random splatters of gold mist after completion of the layout.

Lets take a close look at all the D-lish goodness..

I tucked a printed 'fringe' tag and 'Sweet Talker' Journal It to the left of the photo, and embellished with a new Bitty Bow clip, crochet thread from my stash, plus a resin & enamel glitter dot.

The main cluster to the left of the photos is made up of Coloured wire, a flair buttonpaper flowers (pastel petals & forget me nots) a sequin butterflyElegance & fantasy blooms, ombre wordfetti, and finished off with another resin enamel glitter dot

Under the photos I've used a 6 inch white lace doily, which were recently restocked including the new 5 inch size, along with some hessian from the Summer Squeeze Just Add Paper Kit

The next cluster I worked on to the right of the photos is made up of a similar assortment of items as the left cluster. Includes Coloured wire, a flair button, paper flowers, glitter dots, wordfetti and a glitter butterfly that I've had in my stash for a very long time from a very very very old Just Add Paper kit.

Lastly the title I kept pretty simple, a cutfile word arrow followed with some typed text and a little extra crochet thread.

That's all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out the Scrap Suite group on Facebook to see what the Design team has come up with for the newest Cybercrop challenges.

Until next Time, Happy Scrapping!

Be Still My Heart | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone! It's Michelle here today and I'm OH SO excited to be sharing my first layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio as a new Design Team member. With February being the month of LOVE, the team at Cocoa Vanilla Studio have been sharing love themed inspiration with you all. My layout is documenting the little one I love and features the beautiful Love Always collection. This collection is simply stunning with a beautiful soft colour palette and some stunning florals. Both I find are perfect for scrapping those we love, especially when they're so cute!

To start the layout I've backed most of the open pieces of a heart shaped cut file using pattern papers from the collection. I've used the B side of the Bouquet and Note to Self papers, plus both sides of the Class Act paper. Then, I've adhered the entire heart shape to the B side of the Frolic paper using some foam sheets to give the layout some dimension. I really like using large cut files and popping them up off the page to create interest, as it gives ample places to tuck little clusters underneath.

Speaking of clusters.. Who loves ephemera packs just as much as I do? So many beautiful pieces perfect for layering in clusters, especially those florals. They have a special place in my heart, and feature on nearly every page made using Cocoa Vanilla Studio products. The beauty of this collection is that there's both a die cut ephemera pack, plus a vellum accents pack! SO many beautiful pieces to group together

I adhere most pieces within a cluster using a mix foam dots to pop them up off the page, glue or even tiny staples to add a little extra detail. And, I almost always finish a cluster off using glitter dots or puffy stickers

I love documenting photos of this cute little face! Its hard to believe that she's now 6, has just started school and is growing up so fast!. Time certainly flies quick, so I'm documenting as much as I can while she still lets me. I've kept the photos in black and white so not to clash with the beautiful colours in the collection. I've kept the layers simple with no photo mat, and only a small group of ephemera in a cluster to give balance to the layout.

Lastly I added a little typed journalling, and some machine stitching around the edges of the layout for a finishing touch. Sewing has become quite a regular feature on my layouts, I love the extra little detail it adds to a page.

That's all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my first official post as a Cocoa Vanilla Studio DT Member. It's been a pleasure sharing this with you, and I hope its inspired you in some way. If you've still not got your hands on this collection, you really must! It's absolutely stunning, and perfect for scrapping those we love.
Until next time, happy scrapping!

You make my heart smile | The Cut Shoppe

Hello Scrappy Friends! Today I have a new layout share for The Cut Shoppe, featuring one of the newest Cut file XOXO

I was really drawn to the grid style design the cut files created so I created the layout based around that design

I've used the Love Always collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, which is super pretty and the colours are soft and sweet. I backed all the cut files with different patterns and added some machine stitching for a little extra detail and texture.  All pieces are popped up on foam for dimension, and the square frame with photo has a double layer to pop it up a little higher.

Here's some close ups..

I love creating clusters, and the ephemera within the Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections are perfect for doing so. Lots of little pieces perfect for layering together

We still love Snapchat here!

and another little cluster of pieces to balance the layout out

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to stop by The Cut Shoppe blog to see more delicious creations from other members of the Design Team, and check the shop for all the fun new cut file sets!
Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Creative Cards | D-lish Scraps

Hey Everyone! Back today with a quick share based on the New Inspiration Board at D-lish Scraps
'Fresh Cut' features a fresh palette of greens and gold, which combined together make for some juicy creations..

Here's a look at the new board

I thought I'd mix it up this month, by creating some cards. I hope you like them

Here's a closer look

For this card I started with some pattern paper and cardstock from my stash along with a Project Life card that I've fussy cut and used in the centre of a lace doily. I grouped together paper and resin flowers either side of the circle made from coloured wire, along with a Sequin butterfly, minifetti and some enamel glitter dots

With this card I started with the same pattern papers, layered with white cardstock, some punchinella, a lace doily, paper bag that you can't really see and a Project Life card. To the sides I've used paper flowers, a sequin bow, arrow paper clip and some cut file pieces from The Cut Shoppe (Washi Love)

I really enjoyed making these cards, and can't wait to one day gift them onto someone.
Be sure to check out the D-lish Scraps blog for the other DT member shares

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Hello Adorable | Scrap the Girls

Hey Everyone! Can you believe that it's FEBRUARY?
Today is the day Scrap The Girls releases a new challenge, this month is a sketch.. Oh and good news.. I'm staying on the team YAY!

Lets get to the fun stuff.. Here's a look at the sketch for the month, one that involves use of multiple photos, or something in place of them. What ever inspires you!

I've used the Cute Girl collection from Crate Paper for this layout, plus a few extras from past Hip Kits. Love the brightness of the background paper and the embellishments that compliment it all.

I'm not sure if you can still see the sketch behind this, but the main elements are there. The striped background, tags and circular elements in the top right, title lower left, journalling bottom right, a Cat element, plus 4 photos.

Here's some close ups..

Love creating mixed titles with various complimenting products. Big and bold!

Thats all from me today. Be sure to check out the Scrap the Girls blog to see all the other DT member creations.
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
