Love Life.. Dream Big.. Follow your heart.. for Scrappy Canary

Hi Again!
Im back today with my last share for Scrappy Canary this month using the Leila Scrapbook kit .. I still have plenty of bits left in my kit to keep me going throughout January while we await the next yummy kit!!

When I saw this triangle paper by Pink Paislee, I just knew I needed to make a feature of it.
Absolutely adore this photo of Leila. Sitting peacefully, pondering life.. I do wonder what she was thinking in that moment, but I couldn't ask her as she took off so quick, back to the park to play.

I took inspiration from her pants, and went crazy with the triangles.. stuck them down, sewed them, stapled them and even raised a few with foam tape

I kept the embellishments to a bare minimum, so as not to distract from the triangles

Ive used a vellum piece, and die cut word from the ephemera pack in the kit, along with gold letter stickers and a chipboard banner to make up the title

Thanks again for stopping by,
I would like to wish you all a safe and very Merry festive season!

Happy Scrapping..

Crazy little Critter.. for Scrappy Canary

Hi Everyone!
Can you believe this year is almost over?? I certainly can't. Its gone way too quickly
Today Im sharing a new layout using the current Scrappy Canary Scrapbook kit - Leila and the Maggie Holmes Shine Add-on

Simple ripped paper layers, mini clusters of embellishments, machine stitching, a mixed alpha title, delicate doily and a splattering of inks... these are a few of my favourite things

This crazy kid... We often find her perched, or hear her meowing multiple times throughout the day. She thinks its hilarious!! I've added this into the journalling that is hidden behind the photo

I'm really liking the floral embellishments within the Shine collection, this one from the chipboard sticker sheet complimented the papers perfectly!

Thanks for stopping by today,
Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for another layout share

Hello Happy Day.. for Scrappy Canary

Hello fellow Scrappers!
Im back today with another layout share using the current Scrappy Canary Scrapbook kit - Leila

I loved the bright, fun, happy colours of the triangular shaped paper within the kit.
It matched perfectly with the colours in the photo Ive chosen to document

Leila often brings us plates of cakes and deserts from her play kitchen. On this day it was an extra special cake for her Uncle Tim as it was his birthday, and she was cooperative enough for me to take a photo to send to him. Bonus!
I know I say this about pretty much all of my layouts, but I LOVE how this one turned out!!
The colours, the embellishments, the happy little face in the photo (this was the week we both had a crazy head cold that had wiped out of energy to do nothing more than snuggle in bed, or on the couch. You wouldn't think it from the smile she gave me, but she was pretty miserable for the remainder of that day, and we missed out on seeing Uncle Tim for his birthday dinner)

Ive grouped the photo (and signature doily) together with tags and floral embellishments from both the Main kit and the Maggie Holmes Shine Add-On. Love the mix of colours, with the pops of gold throughout

The acetate tags are a cute finishing touch to the sides of photos, good for layering as they are see through and mix well with the other embellishments

LOVING this roller stamp! I think I've used it on each page so far..

I've created the title from the 'hello love' wood veneer that I cut down and layered behind the 'Happy day' die cut

Lastly some handwritten journalling and splatters of Gold colorshine to finish the page off

Thanks for stopping by today, more to share very soon

Capture the Everyday.. for Scrappy Canary

Hello Everyone!
Its been a little while between posts from me, the start to this month has been a little hectic to say the least! I've still found some time to get creative though, which is good for my soul!

Here's the first layout Ive made with the newest Scrappy Canary Scrapbook kit - Leila. How sweet that its named after  my little miss Leila, it certainly suits my style of scrapping, and her cute little face!!

The photos Im documenting are more silly selfies that Leila and I took a few weeks back. I was making a mess in the craft room and she had wandered in to check what photos I was using. She loves looking at photos, so it makes this hobby even more special, knowing that she will treasure these pages for years to come.

'Capture the Everyday'
I've seen a few layouts made lately using vertical strips to the sides of the page, so I thought why not try it out. That black and white striped paper was just perfect to layer together with the spotted papers

Ive used foam to raise the photos and pink flower to the right to give some dimension to the page

Love the florals in this collection, however Ive found that there just isn't enough for my liking! I need more!!

This quote, that can be found on the cut apart sheet, really jumped out as something I needed to use for this page. Its exactly how I feel about those photos and that moment!

How cool is it to have a roller stamp as part of the kit this month!
Perfect little sentiments to stamp all over the page..

And lastly a little cluster at the bottom to finish the page off..

All the products used here, apart from the doily, vellum, ink and Gold colorshine, can be found in the current Scrapbook kit, which is available in store now

Santa's Little Helper.. Hip Kits November 2015

Hi Again!
Back today with another layout share using the November kit from Hip Kit Club
Another Christmas layout, this one of Leila's second Christmas. She had just turned 1, and oh my goodness she was too cute for words!

Not the best quality photo, didnt have a fantastic camera phone back then. But, its another photo and memory documented. So cute!

I mixed some alphas from my stash with the puffy ones that came in the kit, and added in a strip of black hearts washi tape, also from my stash

The little animal die cuts from the pack were so cute, and the tags and frames were just perfect for layering into a cluster with some enamel dots and a glittery 1

Even though we aren't in Winter here in Australia, the glittery snowflakes still look pretty cool on these layouts

Lastly, I've cut triangles from pattern paper for the corners as I felt there was too much white, crazy I know! A few splatters of Gold color shine and I called it done!

Elf on the Shelf.. for D-lish Scraps

Hey everyone!
I'm back today with my last share for D-lish Scraps this month.
Ive chosen a photo from last christmas to document (finally) and scrapped it in a non traditional way (not red and green) using a challenge from the November Cybercrop set by Sonia

I've mirrored the sketch, altered it slightly, and came up with this

Side note: a few of the items that Ive used within the layout have been in my stash for a while, but there are many many more similar items within the D-lish Store

Last year we introduced the Elf on the Shelf to our house. We were living with my parents so everyone in the family was involved, and it was so much fun! The photo is of my nephew Lachlan, who loves that trampoline, but was not so happy that the Elf was trying it out.

As I was only using 1 photo, Ive layered a Wood veneer frame (that I've had within my D-lish stash for ages) with some gold star Punchinella. The title is made up of Wood letter that Ive coloured with a red gelato and some black stickers from my stash. The black and white spots paper strip is actually tissue paper from a past Just add paper kit

I've scattered a few stars in different sizes and forms diagonally top and bottom of the photo stack.
Wood veneer starsred mini sequin stars (which are actually hot pink, but look red) and a dyed wooden button star

Another dyed wooden button starred mini sequin starswood veneer stars and a Star mesh charm (another hoarded d-lish item) along with a little veneer reindeer

Lastly a couple of minifetti strips as tabs above the photo stack to complete the layout

Papers used on the layout came from the Hip Kits November Scrapbook kit, more layouts to share using that kit very soon!

Thanks for stopping by the past few days.

Lego Explosion.. for D-lish Scraps

Hello again Fellow crafters!
I'm back today with another layout share, full of D-lish goodness!!

This is exactly how you will find our play room at any time of the day! Leila is obsessed with Lego, and is getting better at building things by herself.
So fun to hear her when she's in her little lego bubble

I started the background with some left over texture paste, from the layout I shared yesterday, which I smeared across the page. Next I've added an extra layer of texture using some whipped spackle and a Dusty Attic stencil . (Embellishments shown here are from the Freckled Fawn glitter chipboard sticker packs)

I've mixed up some different embellishments for this cluster - a minifetti stripD-lish flair buttonDusty Attic page pebbleFreckled Fawn glitter starskinny washi tape stripspaper butterfly and some enamel shapes

a close up of how the minifetti strips can be layered as tabs

And lastly another D-lish flairpage pebbleglitter star and sprinkling of enamel shapes to finish the page off

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to check back tomorrow for my last layout share for the month

Clever Clonkers.. for Scrappy Canary

Hey Everyone,
2 layout shares in 1 day!!

This one is for Scrappy Canary using the October kit..
Theres not much left of these kits in my stash. I could still squeeze out another layout or 2, however this is the last one I've made with them. Im super excited to see the newly released kits, and can't wait to get creating with them!

Back to todays layout share..
Clever Clonkers is a name Leila uses quite a lot. We have no idea where it came from, but its quite cute, and has stuck around for months now. So when we saw that she had set herself up for family movie night just like this, we thought she was definitely a 'Clever Clonkers' lol

Family movie night for us lately, usually starts off with the 3 of us snuggled in bed watching something together, then Leila getting bored if its not something disney related, us switching to some form of Marvel comic Movie or tv show and leila watching age appropriate videos on youtube before being tucked into bed.. This night she skipped the snuggles in bed and made a nest for herself out of all the cushions from around the house. Genius plan!

Random scraps from papers, fanned out and tucked under the layered photo stack

Cute little house from the die cut pack, works with the layout as we were all at home, yet still random and fun!

Ive used a mix of puffy stickers and thickers for the title, and layered some more die cuts with a circle of pattern paper

Originally I had handwritten the journalling on the Today card from the die cut pack, but I made a booboo so I re-typed the journalling using my super old / dried up typewriter and covered up my mistake. I've layered this with another tag from the die cut pack and some ripped washi tape

Random splatters of Color shine around the page, a few enamel hearts and some crazy stamping finish off the page.

Thanks for stopping by today..
Be sure to keep an eye out for some fresh new layouts, once I get my hands on the new kits!!
Cant wait!

#happydays.. with D-lish Scraps

Hello Everyone!
Where has this year gone??
Today Im sharing a new layout based on the newest Inspiration Board over on the D-lish Scraps blog

Such a fun mix of pretty pastels, florals and confetti
I've taken my main inspiration from the Ice-cream photo, confetti pieces and the florals within the board.

Love how this has turned out. Im slowly making my way back through older photos of Leila that are not yet documented. This one taken from a photoshoot when she was 10 months old. She was not quite walking, confidently standing, but still a little wobbly. Only moments before the photo was taken, she had fallen over and scratched her little nose, but picked herself back up and started posing for more photos lol

I've used the sketch provided on the board, and turned it clockwise to the right. Rather than using paper or my usual paper bag as the main layer across the page, I've used a mask from my stash and some coloured texture paste. Once dry, I layered up some papers, a vellum bag and some of the new Wide punchinella in yellow, along with one of my favourite Doilies

Handy tip: To make the colours stand out on the chipboard pieces, paint them with some white acrylic paint, or even Gesso, before smudging gelatos over them using your hands. I've blended 2 pinks and a yellow on the #happydays piece to give it an ombre look. Flowers chosen to embellish are my most favourites from the D-lish store - pastel petals and some new Carnations

Love these new Page Pebbles from Dusty Attic, so much fun to colour to suit the theme of the page.
I've 'scattered' them top and bottom of the page, to replicate the confetti on the board. I could have gone crazy with them! And Hello!! How cool are those skinny washi tapes!!!!

Lastly Ive added in a minifetti strip and journal it tab to the right of the photo, then some random enamel shapes and dots to finish the page off.

Thanks for stopping by today
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my take on this months board, and that you will share your creations with us on the D-lish Scraps blog.
