September Project Life

Hello!! Today I'm sharing another instalment of my Project life album using this months Rainbow Connection Pocket Life kit from Scrappy Canary

**WARNING** This post is full of photos!! Grab a cuppa before you sit down to browse :)

Ive jumped back to September for one very good reason :) I thought what better way to document September, than with the September Skies collection by Heidi Swapp. A little birdie had advised that the collection was coming up in a kit, so I knew straight away what I needed to save in my album to show it off! I have added in a few extra pieces from my stash including more 6x6 papers, but a majority of the pockets are filled with contents of the kit. I will leave the photos to do the talking, if you have any questions please ask them in the comments.

I squeezed as many photos and stories as I could into this month. 5 inserts between the 2 main pages!

The right hand side of this photo shows a 6x8 insert with the one behind peeking through from above

Right hand side again, Ive used a Becky Higgins Design G page protector

I was naughty and used a different set of Heidi alphas for these pages, they are slightly smaller than the set within the Pocket Life kit, but both can be used with color shine to make them POP

Ive attached 2 gold hearts, from the sticker sheet included in the kit, back to back onto some vellum as a 'filler' card

Another 6x8 insert houses a flyer from the Circus Leila went to see

For the last page of the month, Ive used another Heidi Swapp panoramic pocket page.
(shown closed above and open below)
Those cheeky gold stickers don't really photograph all that well to share with you all.
They do look much better in person :)

Thanks for stopping by. If you haven't got your hands on one of these kits yet, you really should! They are so much fun to use!

I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season xx

I like to STAMP IT, STAMP IT

Hello everyone!!

This is a public service announcement!
If you haven't been and shopped at Kellie Stamps lately GET OVER THERE QUICK lol
Ive recently had the pleasure of working with her latest December release 'Summer'

I went a little Stamp crazy to make this layout, using as many stamps from the set, combined with a couple from the RAD set to make my background paper.

Teamed up with my favourite vellum and Doily from Studio Calico, a couple of Bitty bags from D-Lish scraps and a mixture of co-ordinating alphas this super simple layout was complete.

Be sure to head over to Kellie's website to get your set today, before they're all gone!

Happy Little Soul

Hello Everyone! Here today with a new layout to share,
and a reminder about the current Sketch Challenge over at Scrappy Canary.

This month we challenged you to create a layout using at least 3 square photos. Today however, I thought I would share a way around that by using only 1 photo, without losing the square elements of the sketch.

Ive gone a little layering crazy with this page. You can see that Ive kept all the papers square or close as possible. Ive just changed up the sizes and added in some Vellum to soften some of the more bolder papers. Using the Cut apart paper as part of the title was an idea from a friend while scrapping together the other day. Im quite pleased with how its turned out.

I've used minimal embellishments as I had added enough with the title and half a forrest worth of pattern papers that I felt it would over do it.

We hope you have a go at interpreting our Sketch. Be sure to upload your entries to the Scrappy Canary blog by January 4th to be in the running to win a $10 voucher for the Scrappy Canary Store.. Manda has just recently stocked it full of fun products to get your creative juices flowing over the festive holiday season.

Happy Crafting!!

October Project Life take 3

Good Afternoon,
Sharing a Project Life layout I created recently with the Note to Self Pocket Life kit from Scrappy Canary. This layout completes my documentation of October.

This was such a fun kit to play with! Lots of bright colours and cute patterns work really well for photos of our week. Yes I did revert back to weekly documenting!
The pockets chosen for this week are from a special release Becky Higgins had last year with HSN (Home Shopping Network) over in the States. I had visions of mini 2x2 inch photos within the pockets mixed with random squares of pattern papers, however due to lack of photos for the week I attacked a massive pile of pattern paper scraps

A close up of the left hand side, documenting little stories about what life is like lately with Leila. How awesome is that Amy Tangerine exclusive!!

And the right is a collection of random moments

Lastly with the remaining scraps and embellishments left over from the Kit, I made up 2 simple mini layouts. Both are 6x8 inch in size and conceal a funeral booklet from earlier in the week.

Up first 'Crazy Lady', made up of lots of different size offcuts and strips..
And second 'Obsessed'
Simple strips of paper combined with a title from the Alphabet sticker sheet

I hope this has inspired you in some way
Happy Scrapping

Hip Hip HOORAY Today is Daddy's Birthday

Hello Everyone! How fast did that last month fly by! I can't believe its December already. Start of a new month means a new Sketch challenge over on the Scrappy Canary blog..

This month I've designed something that will work with multiple photos. Think Christmas, birthdays, any type of celebration or occasion, even holidays. A few different layers make up the base, but the embellishment have been left off. We want to see where you think they fit best for your layouts. If you feel the layout doesn't need them, don't add them. But if you think it needs a little sparkle here or there, go to town!!

My layout is made up using pattern papers from the Memorandum Scrapbook Kit & Extra paper kit. Lots of yummy layers, minimal embellishing with stickers from both the matching 12x12 Creative Agenda Alphabet and Sticker Sheets

You have until 04 January (11.55pm AEDT) to link up via the Scrappy Canary blog. The winner will receive a $10 gift voucher to spend in the the Scrappy Canary Store

Happy Scrapping!

Old School Bike

Hello Everyone,

Today I thought I would share a more recent layout made with the current Scrappy Canary Memorandum Scrapbook kit.

This layout is 'throwing back' to childhood memories of mine.
Memories of an Old School little blue bike that has been with our family for almost 30 years now.
Its been a well loved little blue bike that myself and many relatives and friends have rode around and around our backyard. A little blue bike that I learnt to ride on. A little blue bike that is, and has been a very firm favourite of Leila's for the last 2 years. In fact she prefers this little blue bike more than her own newer bike! This poor little blue bike is still going strong, although its a little rough around the edges these days, the bucket on the back just won't stay in place, and the pedals… well used, and more often than not, being towed around rather than used to pedal with as they have finally given in and fallen off.

Ive layered up lots of scrappy pieces from the kits that I had left over, added in a few random stickers a title from the Alpha thickers provided and called it done :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy crafting x

Welcoming back D-Lish with Those Curls

Hello,
Exciting news to share today!

I really loved that hearts image (bottom left) so I created my background around using a 12x12 Heidi Swapp stencil, some whipped spackle, gelatos and glitter.. It turned out so well I considered framing it rather than adding more to it lol

I then added in a good mix of different embellishments from the D-Lish store
A cluster of D-Lish goodness framing the top corner of the photo includes
2 Wildflowers in Cream and Coral
a Defining words flair button
a fancy edge pick n place bow and a piece of coloured wire that I wound around a pen, both kept in place with a mini wooden peg
a 'right now' journal it from the Buttercup Monochrome Journal it pack
freckled fawn veneer star
and finished off with some D-Lish dots in Ocean and Sunset are hidden under the cluster poking out from the top.

On the top right of the page I've cut out some wordfetti and a flag from the bottom strip of the backing paper, and glued on a mini cabbage rose.

Bottom left of the page Ive cut out sewed down another wordfetti strip, banner from the bottom of the backing paper and a Journal it date tag from the Buttercup monochrome pack
and yes I did forget to date that tag before I took the photo, whoops!

Next I've added some alphas from stash. They weren't sticky enough to grip onto the Coloured Tulle, so I've sewn them down to hold them in place, before adding in another hand curled piece of coloured wire

Last of all I added in the wood veneer photo corners to complete the page

Thanks for stopping by
