Cards & Tags | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone, I'm back here today with a new creative share for D-lish Scraps. For this post I've created some cards and gift tags based on a current challenge from our October Cyber crop. The challenge I chose was set by D-lish owner Amanda, to create a project featuring a warm or cool colour palette. I ended up making something for each side of the colour wheel, lets take a look shall we?

The first two items I made were some cards. I don't have anyone in mind for these cards just yet, but I enjoyed the process of selecting pretty things to group together to create something to share.

Here's a reminder of the challenge and the colour wheel..

And now a closer look at each individual card..

For card number 1 I chose to create something using the cooler half of the colour wheel. I've grouped together a selection of Little Birdie flowers, a beautiful Swan rose, pastel petal (currently not in store) some creative cut pieces, silver punchinella, a canvas pick n place bow4 inch lace doilyjournal it ticket & a cardfetti piece.

For the second card I've used similar items to the first card, but with colours from the warmer side of the colour wheel. Here I've used the yellow punchinella, a 4 inch lace doily, more creative cuts, a sequin butterfly, a few Little Birdie flowerscardfetti piece, some pastel petals (my most favourite floral item from the D-lish store) and another large Swan rose.

Next I made a some quick tags to wrap around mini gift bags. I thought these would be perfect when giving someone a gift card or even a small note of thanks.  To create these tags I've used some printed tags from the Pastel Doilies set. These are so pretty on their own, but even sweeter with a few added bits to finish them off.

The tag on the left has a piece from the cardfetti set that reads "Best Wishes" and is attached to the tag with some punchinella, a tasselwooden button and pastel petal. The tag on the right also has a cardfetti piece, wooden button, pastel petal and a couple of mini Little Birdie flowers.

Lastly for these two cards I've embellished using the same items as the other 2 tags - tassel and punchinella on one, Little Birdie micro flowers on the other, wooden buttons and cardfetti pieces on both. These two tags would have to be my favourite out of the 4. Such sweet colours.

Well thats all from me today, I hope this has inspired you in some way.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping xx

Hilariously You | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Hello! I'm back today with my newest layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring the beautiful Bohemian Dream collection. By far my favourite collection of all time, which I'm sure I've already mentioned it before, but heck I'd shout it from the roof tops if I could HAHA

If you weren't already aware, this collection is FINALLY available In Store NOW! You can find all of the YUMMY goodness right HERE.. Run, don't walk lol

For this layout I just went with the flow of creating, no actual plan in mind other than a gigantic cluster of some description that was full of florals... I chose a hilarious photo of Leila from a few months back when she decided to help her Dad outside with the gardening. Who knew a Tutu was the newest gardening essential? Too funny!

I centred the photo in the top half of the page and worked my clusters around this, along a diagonal line. I've used a piece of Kaleidoscope paper (B side) under the photo along with pieces of the Boho Bits paper in both the 12x12 and 6x6 size to add some extra layers.

To the right of the photo I created a larger cluster with pieces in the ephemera pack. I also added in a couple of enamel dots and shapes, a flair button (one of my favourite sentiments we say to Leila all the time), a bird sticker from the accessory sticker sheet and a sneaky little stamp underneath. I'm not a stamper or a media expert, but I try lol

To give the cluster some dimension and shadowing, I've used a few different types of foam tape and sticky dots to raise and layer them up. I use this technique (if you could call it that) with all the clusters I create on each layout as I find it gives the pages a 3d feel to them, and makes things pop rather than keeping everything flat.

To the left of the layout I've added the next cluster, which is usually the smaller of the 2 large ones. I tend to create a layout with at least 3 groups of embellishments, forming a visual triangle of sorts. This helps draw the eyes attention into the photo without distracting too much.
In the cluster above I've used more floral pieces from the Ephemera pack, a few stickers from the accessory sheet and a sprinkling of enamel dots to finish it off...

Rather than leaving the top corner of the layout bare, I've added a couple of banner/flag pieces and an arrow that I cut down to match. All three pieces can be found in the Ephemera pack.

To create the title I've used some alpha stickers from the Totally Rad collection. To lighten these up I added a coat of white gesso to the tops before adhering to the layout.

Here's a look at the colour difference before and after the gesso was used

I then added the 'you' from the chipboard words set in the Bohemian Dream collection and watercolored the bottom half. I used some of the remaining liquid to splatter around the page, and messed it up in places that was difficult to fix without ripping the paper. Whoops!

Lastly I added a few strips of paper (Boho Bits & Gypsy Heart) to the bottom of the layout, along with more florals, a label sticker with another stamp and a sentiment strip from the Boho Bits paper. The purple strip is from the 6x6 version of the Beautiful Mess paper.

Well thats all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed this new creation and that it has inspired you in some way. Be sure to check out the store and snap up all of this stunning collection before everyone else does!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

You are STRONG | D-lish Scraps

Hello Scrappy friends! I'm back again with my next layout share for D-lish Scraps this month. For this creation I've followed along with one of our newest challenges in the Scrap Suite. If you're new around here The Scrap Suite is our Facebook community group where we share inspiration, including monthly cyber crops, and provide a place for lovers of D-lish to share their creations with us.

I've flipped the sketch that Anthea designed and added an extra grouping of embellishments to balance out the clusters and white space. I chose a photo of Leila from a couple weeks ago and backed it with some pattern papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I chose embellishments from the store that best complimented the papers used, and added some twisted coloured wire, a lace doilyprinted tagwordfetti and some of my favourite puffy alphas to finish it all off.

Heres a look at the sketch before and after I flipped it

And now some close ups and links to the products in store..

The first cluster I worked on was this one made up of a coloured wire heart, D-lish Flair buttonLittle Birdie flowers, faceted enamel dots and some yellow ombre wordfetti. Such a fun grouping in colours  that are so sweet together.

Next was the cluster to the left of the photo, made up of a printed tag, more coloured wire and Little Birdie flowers, a pick n place bow and some more of the really cool faceted enamel dots

The top cluster consists of part of a circle colour journal it layered with a strip from a wordfetti set and a piece of thin glitter tape from months and months ago that I hadn't used yet. I also replicated elements from the other 2 clusters by adding in the flowerswire and dots.

Lastly I created the combined title and journalling using some typed strips of journalling along with some fun puffy alpha stickers, an ombre wordfetti piece and some other washi tapes that were from months ago.

Thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping xx

You were born to Shine | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Scrappy Friends! I'm back here today with a new layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring the beautiful new Bohemian Dream collection. By far my favourite collection since Make a Wish and it works perfectly for my style of layouts - clusters, layers and white space. Leila recently had a MASSIVE haircut, so what better way to document it than with this fun collection.

I've been loving banners on my layouts lately, so for this creation I layered a few different sized pieces of pattern papers together and fishtailed the bottoms for a banner effect. I also added a few random strips and torn pieces of paper for some extra textures to the photo stack, then popped it off the page with some foam sheets for dimension.

SO many pretty designs within this one collection. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Especially that floral paper.

FYI - I will list all products used at the bottom of this post, and will update with links once they're available in store

I also love this sweet sweet face! Oh my Hecking Heck do I love this sweet face! Especially when its cooperative and smiles so sweet!

TO the right of the sweet photo I've created a minster cluster, another favourite technique of mine. I especially like to mix in loads of ephemera pieces, more flowers than anyone ever needs, possibly a cut apart piece or 2, some chipboard, stickers and enamel dots. Layering in and around each other until I think it looks complete.

To balance the layout I usually create some form of visual triangle with extra mini clusters to compliment the main cluster. For this layout I've replicated the floral design , chipboard piece and enamel dots over on the left side of the photo, and created a mini banner cluster top right of the layout.

Here's a list of all the products that I've used for this layout:
12x12 Papers - Abundant, Gypsy Heart, Beautiful Mess, Wild & Free, Flower Child
6x6 Paper pad
Die Cut Ephemera Pack
Vellum Flowers pack
Chipboard stickers
Accessory Stickers
Enamel shapes

Well thats all from me today. I hope this has inspired you in some way.
Be sure to share your creations with us in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community group on Facebook, we love to see what you're all making with the fun products available in store.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping xx

Book Week | D-lish Scraps

Hello Hello! I'm back today with a new creation for D-lish Scraps. For this post I was set with the task of creating something based off This months Inspiration Board. Now to say this was a challenge is an understatement, but I got there in the end and am extremely happy with the final result. Lets take a look shall we?

I based my main design off the sketch for the board, and stuck strictly to the colours and placements of items as best as possible. I don't tend to scrap with these colours, so although it was a challenge, it was fun to create with. Perfect for scrapping a photo of Leila dressed as Cat in the Hat for Book Week at school.

Heres a reminder of what the board looked like with sketch included...

I kept to the hexagon shape theme but cutting multiple different sizes from many pattern papers I had in my stash. I sewed them down on the page over the top of the strip of white punchinella.

I popped the photo up off the page with some foam, and kept it plain without adding any extra paper layers beneath.

Next I added a couple of smaller open clusters using some star shaped creative cuts, backed with more pattern papers, a Little birdie flower, large glitter resin dot, faceted enamel dot and some chipboard chevron shapes that I coloured black by pressing my ink pad into.

In the left cluster I've added a flair button to finish off the grouping. Love all these elements!

Next up I added a puffy alpha title, and broke my machine needle late at night when sewing through them lol I also attached a sequin bow for an extra little pop of red.

Lastly some handwritten journalling and a couple of banners to the left of the photo stack using wordfetti pieces.

All up this was a fun layout to create, and a cute moment in time recorded.

I cannot wait to see what you all create using this board so be sure to share with us in the Scrap Suite group on Facebook!

Thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by.

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Rollin | Scrap the Girls

Hello October! And Hello Scrappy Friends, who can believe we're in the 3rd last month of the year? I certainly can't. With the start of the new month brings many things, one of which is the new Challenge over at Scrap the Girls and we're going all out with the PINK!

I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to create for this board, whether it was to be something in line with the Think Pink Cancer awareness theme, or just go all out pink. I went with the later after finding a great photo of Leila in here favourite pink pjs, riding her beloved pink scooter, and don't forget the addition of the cupcake footstool as a seat for lazy scooting lol

To carry on the scooting theme, I bent some coloured wire from D-lish Scraps into a Scooter shape and stapled it to the page to keep it in place. I then added some extra loops of wire across the page to create a starting point for the remainder of the layout

Next up I added layers of fun pink pattern papers under the photo, included a doily and popped it up off the page with some foam for dimension. To the right of the photo I added a pink tag, some wordfetti strips and a sequin butterfly, plus a couple of die cut hearts cut from white cardstock.

To the top left of the photo I added some more coloured wire, a flair button, paper flowers and enamel dots, all from the D-lish Scraps store. I also added a pink circle tag and some more of the paper hearts

I created a cluster over on the right hand side of the layout featuring more of the pretty embellishments Ive used in the other clusters. I like doing this with each layout as it creates balance across the page

Lastly I created a crazy title using papers and alpha stickers from my stash. It perfectly sums up Leila and her love of scooting!

Well thats all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by xx

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
