Creative Cards | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone, It's Michelle back here today with my newest creative share.

For this post I thought I'd do something different to my usual, by using remnants of the current and past Just add Paper kits to make some more cards for my ever growing collection. I've got quite the collection happening, as I keep forgetting to give them out!

All up I've made 5 different cards using kits and bits from my other D-lish stash. Here's a closer look

For the first set of cards I've used the March 2017 Pretty in Pink kit on the left ... and the current Primrose Lane kit on the right. The card on the left uses the flowers, vellum butterflies and twine from the kit along with the addition of a 4inch lace doilyCreative Cuts "Leaves", a pink Carnation, an Ombre Worfetti piece and some glitter dots

The card on the right is made from the flowers, journal it, white leaf that I've cut into, and twine from the kit along with a doilywordfetti piece and enamel dots like the other card. I stuck with similar design elements for each of the cards to keep them simple and easy to put together.

Here's a look at the 2 kits used for the above cards to refresh your memory...

Next up I've used the December 2016 Peaches & Cream kit and the February 2017 Fresh Cut. I didn't have a lot of the Peaches and Cream kit left to create a generic form of card, so I've used the Journal It pieces, twine, a rose and a veneer arrow that I coated in glitter paste. To bulk up the card Ive used the same doily as the other cards, a flair button, 2 paper flowers from Little Birdie sets, a pick n place bowombre wordfetti and enamel glitter dots

The card on the right is made up of loads of goodies from the Fresh cut kit, I hadn't had a chance to create with it just yet so I had a full kit to play with! I kept the pip berry stem in its circular form and placed it over the doily from my other D-lish stash. I tied the twine around the cardstock piece and attached in place to keep it secure. I arranged the flowers in the bottom right of the circle, and added a flair from the kit as a 5th element to the cluster. Lastly I added a ombre wordfetti strip and some enamel dots to match.

Here's another look at the 2 kits featured in these cards...

Last card of the bunch was made using pieces from the Peacock Avenue kit from November 2016. In addition to the kit contents ( crochet feather, twine, sequins, washi tape, flair and large purple flower) I've added my favourite Forget me nots, a scribble circle Creative CutdoilyWordfetti pieceenamel dots and ribbon from my stash.

Here's one last look at the kit for reference ..

And lastly a look at all the cards together, showing how similar yet different they all are.

I really enjoyed making and sharing something a little different this week! I hope its given you some form of inspiration.

Until next time, happy Scrapping!

Hey Mum, HELLO! | D-lish Scraps

Hello Scrappy friends! A quick layout share today of a creation I made and shared recently for the D-lish Scraps Cyber Crop challenge. Each month a few select members of the Design team share a challenge to inspire you, and then you have roughly 4 weeks to create and share your masterpiece.

Here's the layout I shared this month, which a sketch was created from as the challenge.

Here's a better look at how the sketch turned out, including a link to the group to share your creations

I kept it pretty simple with loads of white space. Something not all of my layouts usually have as they're generally filled with large cut files, big titles and clusters of embellishments.

Here's a closer look at the bits n bobs I added to make it a little prettier..

I've used papers from the Endless Summer collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio to layer behind the photo, and across the page. Then I've tucked in a piece of a Hello my name is Journal it (only the spotted strip without the text) a piece from the Pink ombre wordfetti sheet, a rose Creative cut, a pretty lace doily, my favourite forget me not flowers, glitter enamel dots and a Little Birdie flower.

This photo cracks me up every time I look at it! You're all well aware that we love Snapchat here, and this is just one of many hilarious photos we have added to our collection!

I made a mixed title text using some of the white puffy alphabet stickers and the hello creative cut piece from the script words set. Journaling added underneath using my typewriter.

Over on the right hand side I've used more of the pattern paper from the other side of the layout and tucked a printed tag in underneath. Layered above these is a Journal It circle, flair button, butterfly creative cut and the same flowers and enamels as the other cluster.

Lastly I did the usual splatter of gold color shine and called it done :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping

Hello | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone! I'm back here today with a new layout share for D-lish Scraps featuring the July Just Add paper Kit - Primrose Lane. I'm loving the colour combo within this kit and all the pretty bits included. Those resin flowers are super cute, and the Pink, Red and Aqua combo with hints of flowers = my new favourite. I thought I'd follow along with the sketch included on the Inspiration board too, so heres a closer look..

The photos I've shared in the layout are taken a little over 6 months apart, and help to document the story of Leila's ongoing love for Frozen. Her obsession has ramped up a little more this past week after we took a trip into the 'Big City' by train with some friends to see Disney On Ice. Not sure if she will ever 'Let it Go' lol

I stuck as close to the sketch as possible and replaced one of the photo's with the journalling card from the kit. I created clusters using the embellishments in the kit, moved the title onto the Large Journal card, and created an extra cluster bottom left of the layout to continue the diagonal design.

Here's a reminder of the current Inspiration Board, keep scrolling through to see more close ups of my creation

I cut into the satin leaves to create a fun feathered look, and glued them in under the clusters with a flair button, cherry blossom, resin flower and some added glitter enamel dots

In the main cluster I also added some twine from the packaging and the tassel from the kit.

I added a strip of the thin hearts washi tape along the bottom strip of paper, and machine stitched along for some added detail. The cluster above was pretty simple to create using the name tag from the packaging along with the date circle, label tag, puffy sequin heart and some more enamel dots.

Lastly the title made using the Hello wood veneer. I ended up leaving it whole with the letters glued inside the speech bubble and added a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen. I originally hand wrote the journalling on the card, but wasn't able to fit everything in that I wanted, so went with some typed words and glued them over the top.

Here's a closer look at the contents of the kit, there's still a few more in store if you want to snap one up.

Well, thats all from me today. I hope this has inspired you in some way to get creative with your JAP kits. Be sure to share your creations with us in the Scrap Suite, we love to see what you make!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Hello Sunshine | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone! I'm back here today with a new layout share using the beautiful Endless Summer collection for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. The soft sweet pastel colours in this collection remind me of summer which makes it perfect for the Summer theme were focusing on this week.

I've gone back in time and scrapped a cute photo of Leila from 2013, when we enjoyed the warmer months a lot more. It certainly warms my heart to look back on the memories we created in our old backyard, especially this time of year when its freezing cold.

I kept the layout design quite simple, using a strip of COASTAL CHILL paper across the background, then built the title and photo mat layers up across the same horizontal line to give the layout some dimension. I created clusters top right of the layout and bottom left of the photo to draw the eyes attention across the page and finished it all off with a sprinkling of gold ink.
Here's some close ups...

This was a fun cluster to begin with, as it uses a mix of all my favourite embellishments from the collection. To create it I've used pieces from the THIS & THAT cut apart paper, and raised up the pink doily piece with foam tape. The clouds are from the wood Veneers pack and are a super cute addition to the collection. The other items used are the enamel shapes, woodies & blooms

Under the photo mat I've used the reverse side of the COASTAL CHILL paper, along with more cut apart pieces from the THIS & THAT paper. I also included an off cut of the pink doily used in the cluster at the top of the page and some accessory stickers tucked under the bottom of the photo and into the top of the floral cluster.

I added a hint of glitter to the flowers from the Blooms pack, but its really hard to see in these photos. I've included more items into this cluster that are in the top cluster, to help balance the layout.

I've used one of the FREE cut files to create the title using the woodgrain side of the SWEET TREATS paper and raised it up off the page using foam tape to help it stand out a little more. I also included a piece from the ephemera pack and added my typed journalling in the blank space below.
The Free cut files are pretty cool, and can be found on the website HERE

Thats all from me today, I hope this has inspired you in some way to get those Summer photos documented.

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

You are so Beautiful | Scrap the Girls

HI Everyone! It's the start of a new month which means its time to share the newest challenge for Scrap The Girls. This month is a mood board, which initially I struggled with as the theme it focuses on is the complete opposite to what I am normally inspired by. I was so far out of my comfort zone I didn't think I would be able to think of anything to create, let alone finish something in time. However I did manage to create something by drawing on a few ideas that were represented on the board.

Here's a look at the board

and here's a closer look at what I came up with..

I've used the Wild at Heart collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, which to me represented a good chunk of the colours within the board. I was going for shades of darker blues/denims, hints of bronze/gold, pops of redish pink combined with the use of feathers and metals. I think I managed to create something pretty decent with all those elements, while still keeping with the usual style of my layouts.

I also felt the board had a 'one of a kind' uplifting vibe kind of feel to it, so I mixed in plenty of quote and sentiment stickers across the layout, and chose a photo of Leila that fit into that theme.

I've used some feathers and metal charms from my stash and attached them to the bottom of a heart from a journal card within the Wild at Heart collection. The dangling effect it created reminds me of a dream catcher, another thing that the board made me think of.

I mixed together wood veneer words and tiny word stickers from the same collection to create the title, and popped the word Beautiful up off the page using some foam tape.

Lastly a few glitter dots scattered and some butterflies and I called it done.

Thanks so much for stopping by, be sure to check out the Scrap The Girls blog to see other creations by the Design Team.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping
