Pretty as a Princess | Masters Challenge 10 - Fiskars

Hey Everyone!
I'm back again with my FINAL layout share as a Master for Scrapbooking Memories Magazine.
This was our very last challenge for the magazine, so it's a little bittersweet. While I loved my time as a Master, and am SUPER excited to see who the next team of creatives are, I am totally ready for a new challenge!

For this challenge we were sent a pack of Fiskars Punches, and given the task of creating something to showcase them.... 10 challenges and an article later and I still struggled for ideas. What I did come up with in the end, was all kinds of wonderful.

I've used the Love Always collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio - absolutely stunning collection, and perfect for documenting black & white photos with. It has a softness to it that doesn't overpower the memories being documented. I was able to use 4 of the punches we were given - A bird punch, hearts border punch, cloud punch and a flower/doily punch.

I grouped all the punches within this corner with the addition of the bow from the collection pack. The cloud shape punch was perfect to cut in half and make a wing for the bird, and I even made use of the inner hearts from the border punch

I kept the embellishing pretty simple with this main cluster, and the 2 smaller ones. All which form a diagonal line across the page, a design element that I've become quite fond of with most of my layouts recently.

I used white cardstock for some of the punched shapes to keep the softness of the layout, and so that they complimented the page, rather than standing out.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope this has given you some form of inspiration.
Until Next time, Happy Scrapping

Shine BRIGHT Beautiful | Anna's Craft Cupboard

Hello again Crafty Friends!! I'm back again with my second layout share as Guest Designer for Anna's Craft Cupboard, using Pink Paislee's new Moonstruck collection.

This layout would have to be my most favourite out of all three created, including that big bold floral print. I fussy cut one of the floral pieces that would have been covered by the white cardstock, so that I got the most out of that beautiful design. I kept the design quite simple again, with one main cluster in the centre of the layout made up of ephemera pieces and the title.

So many close ups, lets get to looking 😉

I've layered multiple papers, a tag and doily under the photo, then popped up with foam to give the page a little extra dimension. I also tucked in a gold foil butterfly and sticker top left.

The main cluster is made using the fussy cut floral piece from the background paper, an extra floral die cut, butterfly, journal card some rub ons an a sticker. Then layered on top are the 'Shine Bright' circle and gold foil word 'beautiful' to create the title, both pieces are from the ephemera pack

I've typed my journalling up on my seriously old, needs to be replaced (hint hint Christmas fairy), typewriter. I love the look of typed journalling as it adds a special touch to a layout, while still conforming to my clean freak ways HAHA. But, I did get a little messy.. If you look closely at the leaves of the floral piece, you will see I added a slight touch of gold to the edges, after I had stuck it down. That was almost a disaster lol

Lastly I added a mini cluster top right using a couple of rub ons and an ephemera piece, then watered down some of the Gold embellishment mousse to splatter around the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Can't wait to share the next layout!
Here's a sneak peek..

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Always beYOUtiful | D-lish Scraps

Hey Everyone! I'm back today with a new layout share for D-lish Scraps featuring this months Just Add Paper Kit - Peacock Parade. I really loved the colours within this kit and knew that they'd challenge me, in a good way. These kits are perfect for creating with, especially when you might be needing a mojo boost!

Here's what I came up with..

I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to scrap with this kit until I came across this photo of Leila from 2013. She was trying to take the phone from me while I was taking photos, which resulted in a 'selfie'. I've scrapped the photo before, and wasn't happy with the end result. I'm so much happier with this! Must be the Kit and products within it that made it all the more special! 😉

I started the layout with a white background and some messy stitching around the edges, then made my own pattern paper using the washi tape and white cardstock. The photo stack was layered with the coloured doily from the kit, a white doily from the store and a piece of the journalling card from the kit popping out of the top layers.

Next up I worked on the pieces tucked into and around the photo, starting with this cluster of goodness. Its made using the amazing die cuts, an exclusive flair button and matching 'date' journal it, a super pretty metal peacock with some twine, paper and satin flowers, sequins and a resin dot

The title itself was an experiment that I thought turned out all wrong. I used multiple layers of glitter paste and gelatos with an ombre effect that turned out quite pretty. I also added some puffy alpha stickers above to add to the title, sewed down to keep them in place forever!

In this cluster I used the remaining journal its, and the packaging label together, including a bright purple sequin bow for added sparkle, another flair button, paper and satin flower, resin dot and sequin. Lastly I added a sprinkling of Teal coloured Color Shine, some watered down gelatos in random spots around the page, and multiple mini glitter enamel dots. Love them! Wish the mini size came in a pack by themselves!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to share what you've made with us over in the D-lish Scraps 'Scrap Suite' on Facebook! We love seeing your creations!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Spread Your Wings | Anna's Craft Cupboard

Hi Everyone! I'm so honoured to be sharing my first layout as a Guest Designer for Anna's Craft Cupboard! A fantastic crafty business located over in Western Australia.

I was super excited to hear that I would be creating with the new Pink Paislee collection 'Moonstruck', an absolutely stunning collection with so many beautiful designs. Big florals, soft pastels, watercolours and butterflies, this collection has all of my favourites.

It's even more beautiful in person, that I had such a hard time cutting into it. But I'm really happy that I did, as the layouts I've created with it have become some of my very favourites.

Here's a look at the very first layout I created..

Really happy with how this came together as I generally tend to steer away from pattern paper backgrounds. But, this paper with its watercolour effect had the right mix of softness that it didn't detract from the entire layout. I went with a diagonal design, which I am quite drawn to recently, as it gives the page balance while drawing the eye across the page.

I added a couple of little details before starting the actual page by machine stitching around the edges and also adding some Gold smudged dots with the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. These are in random spots using the end of a crochet hook I keep on my desk. This is about as messy as I generally get with any form of mixed media product these days, as I can never seem to keep the paper from warping lol

I've layered a few different pattern papers with torn edges under the photo, then raised them up off the page with foam to create a little dimension on the page. I've also included a doily from my stash.

For this layout I tried to keep the embellishing to a minimum as I didn't want to use everything at once and have nothing left for the other creations. However, I was able to stretch the embellishments given as far as I could, by creating my own from the rub ons in the collection, and fussy cutting designs from other papers.

The Moonstruck collection features quite a lot of butterfly designs, so I was able to mix in a Cut File that I had sitting in my pre cuts box. This one is from The Cut Shoppe and can be found HERE

Lastly I created a large title using Puffy alphabet stickers from my stash, and worked them into the bottom cluster made from die cuts, rub ons and stickers from the Moonstruck collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you're interested in snapping up some of this beautiful collection, the list of products used for this layout can be found below.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

SUPERDAD | Masters Challenge 9 - Design Issue

Hey Scrappy Friends!! I thought I'd share a quick layout that was published a few months back in Scrapbooking Memories Magazine.

This was a Masters Challenge for the 'Design Issue' where we were able to use what ever we liked, and do what ever we wanted! AWESOME!! Creative freedom.. Well, turns out its not so easy to choose something to document, or products to use when you have such freedom. In the end I decided on a masculine Dad theme, as I knew it was going to be published around the time of Fathers Day here in Australia, and it was the perfect opportunity to scrap these photos of Clinton and Leila together.

I chose a background design cut file from The Cut Shoppe, that features a fun 'cut and fold' chevron design, and backed it with papers from the Totally Rad collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I sewed all the pieces down to create a flatter background, but also to add a little more detail to the page.

I used a range of paper pieces from the same collection under the photos, and embellished in clusters along a slight diagonal line across the page.

This card from the cut apart sheet was perfect for a statement piece on the page, and complimented the theme of the photos just right!

Lastly I created the title out of Alpha stickers and ephemera pieces and called it done!

I hope this has given you some form of inspiration! Until Next time..

The Magic of Christmas | The Cut Shoppe

Hey Everyone! Today I have a new layout share featuring 2 of the new Christmas Cut files released in store this week at The Cut Shoppe 'Christmas Magic' & 'Tinsel Town'

I've been wanting to document these Christmas photos from 2013 for quite some time now, but couldn't quite figure out how. These cut files were perfect for this occasion.

I started the layout by making the tree using a pattern paper from 2012 😂 To do this I cut the whole tree shape twice on the same pattern paper, and then used one piece to make the super fun fringed layers. This gave the paper tree a similar look to the many layers of branches on trees.

Next I worked on the title using the Magic of Christmas cut file and some left over stars from my Superstar layout the other week, and coloured them all with Gelatos. These, along with some gold glitter tape and glitter dots, really helped to finish the tree off.

Next I added a strip of paper to the edge of the layout, and worked on a super simple photo stack. Then I also added a few stars, this time coated in gold paint, above the photos, and to the top of the tree.

Lastly I used an older Cut file from the store  'Very Merry' to add the presents under the tree

Thats all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by!
But before I say goodbye today.. Be sure to stop by The Cut Shoppe Etsy store to see all the new release cut files, and don't forget to check out the other Inspiring work by the other Designers here at The Cut Shoppe
Until Next Time, Happy Scrapping!!

Dream Big Sweet Girl | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone! Happy Weekend!!
Today I have a new layout share featuring a few of my favourites from the D-lish Shop
I've chosen a photo of Leila from around 5 years ago, right about the time she started walking, and rather than journalling about the actual photo, I've added a few lines of sweet wishful sentiments .

I started the page by creating my layered photo stack using a 6 inch lace doily and scraps of pretty papers from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio - Make a Wish collection. I've used a couple of off cut pieces from the same collection to layer in the background

I've also tucked a Journal It tab in between the photo stack layers, you can find these in amongst the Monochrome Journal packs

My title is made up of Puffy Stickers, a word sticker and some coloured wire thats perfect for bending into the shapes and words.

Next up is the main cluster.. Who doesn't love a cluster of D-lish goodness? I think I say the same every blog post lol I can't help it, I'm addicted to clustering! This ones made up of multiple paper flowers - MagnoliaPastel PetalsForget me Not and another mini flower that are no longer in the shop. There's also a D-lish Flair buttonsequin Butterfly and some new Enamel Glitter Dots.

Lastly I added a little something to the top and bottom of the layout to balance the page out. I've used pieces of a Journal It spotJournal It ticket, a paper flower (not available) and Enamel Glitter Dot that can all be found in the D-lish Store.

Here's a closer look at the sweet sentiments I added to the page, rather than adding journalling.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this page has inspired you in some way.
Be sure to check back on the blog daily to see more inspiration from the other members of the Design Team.

Cousin Fun | D-lish Scraps

Hello!! Just a quick share from me today .
This is a layout I made for the D-lish Scraps November Cyber Crop challenge, featuring the October Just Add Paper Kit - Plus One.

My challenge for you all is to ' Show us your kits '. Create and share anything you have made with any of our current/previous Just Add Paper kits. Here's what I came up with..

Originally I had printed these photos out in colour, but the mix of colours within the photo made it tricky to pair up with scrappy supplies. Printing them in black & white enables the use of any colour combination, and this JAP kit was perfect to document a fun moment between 2 hilarious little people

I've combined 2 styles of layouts within the one for this, a diagonal design mixed with a grid design. I started by backing the photos with the tissue paper, and arranging them in a way that they formed a grid design with the Journal card and Journal It spots. The space that was left bottom right was perfect for adding in the title with a mixture of items from the kit, including the name tag from the packaging of the kit.

I backed the vellum stars with white cardstock to make them stand out a little more, and so that I could pop them off the page with foam tape for some dimension. I scattered these around the page along with some sequins and super tiny stars.

Heres some close ups..

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the D-lish Scraps Facebook group 'The Scrap Suite' to see the other challenges and join in the fun!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
