Hi Everyone! Today I thought I would share a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring my all time favourite collection Make a Wish. The perfect collection for documenting a certain 6 year olds birthday. I love the bright colours within this collection, along with stunning florals that work so well with the floral cut files from the Colour Me Happy collection. If I could create with this collection every day, I'd be one happy lady!
I wanted the cut file to be a main feature on the page, so I've sized it to approximately 10 inches long in Silhouette Studio and once cut, placed it diagonally across the bottom right corner of the photo stack. I've backed the main flower pieces of the cut file with the Daydream & 'b' side of Hip Hooray papers. I've also used the same pattern papers in layers under the photo along with a doily. Both the photo stack and cut file piece have been raised up off the page with foam adhesive tape to create some dimension off the page.
In the top left corner of the photo stack I've added a couple of pieces from the ephemera pack and some of my favourite Enamel Dots, along with pieces from the bottom of one of the paper name strips. These are perfect to tuck into layers on layouts.
Rather than gluing the entire cut file to the pattern papers, I've stapled in place. This enables the cut file to bend up slightly to add shadowing and a little extra dimension to the layout.
Continuing the floral theme, I've tucked in some die cut florals from the ephemera pack around the cut file, along with a tag and twine, word stickers and the Eat cake flair button
Next I created the title by fussy cutting the words 'Hip Hip Hooray' from the Loot Bag paper and sewed them down in place. I really like the finishing touch this adds to my layouts.
Lastly I added this little cluster to the top left of the page to even out the 'visual triangle'.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope this has given you some form of inspiration to take away and create with.
Until next time, happy scrapping!
