You Rock | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone! I'm back today with a new layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring the brilliant new YOU ROCK collection! The colours within this collection are similar to the school colours Leila wears, so I felt it was a great way to document her first school photo.

I was really inspired by the many horizontal stripe patterns on the 'Stripped' paper and wanted to make them a main feature on the page. I've chosen the patterns that best represent the colours of Leila's school, while ensuring the more Boy themed and vertical text patterns were left out. I also added in a strip of the 'Random' and 'Starshine' papers to bulk it up a little more. Under all of the strips Ive used a piece of the 'Night Sky' paper. The B side of the paper has a really cool notepaper pattern that I was able to crop down and punch the edges to replicate a piece torn from a school book. I've sewed along the left edge to adhere to the page, then added the pattern strips to the middle of the layout randomly and sewed them down as well.

Next I adhered the photo to a piece of the 'Night Sky' paper, and tucked in a pattern strip from the 'Stripped' paper, plus a sticker from the Accessory Sticker sheet. The 'Loved to the moon & Back' and the 'One of a Kind' pieces are from a card on the 'Random' pattern paper that I cut into

I've used the YOU ROCK wood veneer piece for the title, and popped it off the page using some foam tape, and then added a die cut & chipboard star along with some stickers to create a cluster of sorts.

I repeated the star theme across the page by using more of the chipboard and die cut pieces, and added the wood veneer stars and crosses to balance out the large piece in the middle of the page. Here's some close ups..

I also tucked in some labels from the 'Random' cut apart paper to add a place for the date and a quick note about the photo.

Then lastly a few splatters of black ink, which thankfully didn't go everywhere. You never know how or where its going to fall until it happens lol

Thats all from me today, I hope this layout has given you some form of inspiration for scrapping those School photos, or even for using this Boy themed collection for a Girls layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Good Books | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone! I'm back here today with a new layout share for D-lish Scraps featuring some of the new Creative Cuts. The hearts I've chosen to use are so pretty and delicate looking, and a perfect finish to this simple layout.

This was a super quick layout to create using scraps of pattern papers from a previous layout and a little less dimension than I usually create with. The only things I've raised off the page are the Creative Cuts as I stuck the photos straight to the background paper rather than popping them up with foam like I would normally. I kept to a diagonal/grid design, and made sure to replicate similar clusters top and bottom to ensure the page looked balanced. In the top left and bottom right of the 'grid' I've allowed for space to add photos and the title, and added machine stitching along edges of the papers and through the puffy alphabet letters to ensure they all stay stuck!

I'm really happy with how it turned out. Here's a closer look..

Up in this corner I've layered in a couple of Journal It's (Tab and the Round & Round), some Forget me not flowers and a carnation. I've also added some twine to the heart, an enamel dot and a sequin from my stash.

The top of the left photo has a little ombre wordfetti piece along with some glitter enamel dots..

To replicate the top cluster I've used the same flowers along with another Round & Round Journal It, an ombre wordfetti strip and more twine to tie the 2 hearts together.

Lastly the title, made up of typed text and puffy alphabet stickers. Its a little play on the Dr Seuss rhyming which ties in with the photos, and is a perfect representation of Leila's current love of books!

Well thats all from me today, I hope this has given you a daily dose of Inspiration.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Hi, Hey, Hello! | The Cut Shoppe

Hi, Hey HELLO! Just one of the many catchphrases we use around here to get someones attention when the camera is out! I'm back here today with a new layout for The Cut Shoppe, and it's a fun one featuring the awesome FREE cut files from National Scrapbooking Day. You can find the free download HERE, but for now, lets take a closer look at what I created..

I thought I'd have a little fun with the Hi, Hey, Hello 💛 circle, by moving the words around a little to make way for the photo. I've also resized the wedges to give it an uneven look, and to make way for some clusters of embellishments. I used the Make a Wish collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, yes again! It's one of my all time favourites, and I just can't get enough of it! The photo chosen is from Leila's birthday in December last year (hence the Santa in the background)

Here's a look at the Free cut file set if you haven't seen it yet. Such a cool collection of designs!

I think I might have to try that spirograph type shape on a layout soon!

Here's some close ups of my layout..

I've layered a few pieces from the ephemera pack in the collection, along with some stickers and enamel dots.

Of course the Hi, Hey, Hello is the main title for the page, Ive backed both pieces of the cut files with more pattern paper, then sewed through the words and also around the edges of the wedges.. haha that rhymed! You can see here that I also added dimension to the 2 larger wedges by lifting them up from the page with some foam sheets.

Papers and stickers tucked into and under the photo, and a delicate doily to finish it off.

Lastly this cluster which is made up of similar items from the top cluster. Circular items, stickers, party hats and a star instead of a flower.

Well thats all from me today, I hope this has given you a touch of inspiration leading into the weekend. Until Next Time, Happy Scrapping!

This Makes me Happy | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone, I'm back here today with a new layout featuring the beautiful Wild at Heart collection for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. With Mothers Day only a few short days away, I thought it would be a good time to document a sweet photo of Leila and I, with a note documenting how thankful I am to be her Mum.

I don't always make an appearance in photos with Leila, as Im usually the one thats taking them, but those that I do appear in I will cherish forever. This was taken early last year and has been a favourite ever since and was the perfect photo to use for a mother themed layout.

The design of the layout was actually based off an older layout I created last year, I really liked the way it fell together back then so I wanted to try and recreate something similar. I've used a 4 x 12 inch strip of the Double Dot paper across the white cardstock and then layered pieces of Grow WildPatchwork, B side of Double Dot & both sides of Fussy Cuts under the photo.  I've also added in a doily from my stash (a regular staple that makes an appearance on many of my layouts) and raised the stack using a piece of foam sheet for dimension.

Next I added all the fun bits...

Stickers and smaller banner die cuts are perfect to add to the top of a layout and to the top of a photo. Little details that finish a layout off..

To create my large cluster I've layered pieces from the Ephemera pack along with a flair button, a rubber charm and some more stickers from the accessory sticker sheet. The flair button and This makes me Happy piece also work as a small title for the page.

Lastly the mini cluster at the bottom of the layout, made using pieces of Patchwork & Fussy Cuts papers, more die cut ephemera, a label stickerrubber charm and some of my favourite glitter enamel dots.

Thats all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this has given you a dose of inspiration heading into the upcoming weekend. I hope you all have a great end to this week, and a very enjoyable Weekend xx

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Sweet Snapshots of Fun | D-lish Scraps

Hello Hello! I'm back today with a new layout share for D-lish Scraps featuring more of the awesome new Creative Cuts available in store. We all know how much I love cut files, and the best thing about these... They're already cut and ready to go!!

Over the holidays Leila had her class bear come to visit, so we spent some time showing him around the house, meeting her other toy friends and playing in the playroom. We had so many photos to choose from, but these 2 were her favourites so thats what I'm using to document the story.

I've used both of the frames included in the Hashtags + frames set to frame the 2 photos, layered a handful of pretty embellishments around in clusters and finished the page with a mixed title.

Here's some close ups

Firstly I worked out the placement of the photos and frames, added my favourite doilies behind and raised them up with some foam sheets for dimension. Then I've filled the O of the XO frame with a flair button.

Next I worked on the clusters, made up of the very pretty new Little Birdie Pearl Petals, a forget me not flower and some glitter enamel dots. In this cluster I've also added in a Bitty Pick n place bow, a piece of dyed muslin and an ombre wordfetti strip that I've written on to make the words stand out more.

For this group I've used the same flowers and enamel dots, another ombre wordfetti strip and a flair button, more muslin (which I hope makes an appearance back in store some day) and 2 words to create the title from the Script Words creative cuts set. I like mixing things together to create titles, its fun!

Lastly I've added in a few different Journal Its to add a touch of journalling, and a date circle - which upon writing this post up, I've realised I completely forgot to add the date to. Whoops!

Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by. I hope this has given you a touch of inspiration to kick start a creative week.

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!!

Hello Love | The Cut Shoppe

Hello Hello! I'm back today with a new layout share for The Cut Shoppe featuring the April Showers cut file set and an older Pink Paislee collection - Hello Sunshine.

I had a lot of fun documenting this photo of muddy puddle jumping. It's not very often that we get a warm day with rain to run and jump outside, but on this day the rain just bucketed down!

I've used the scalloped cloud design upside down, and then upon finishing realised I probably should have used it the other way up to replicate clouds rather than just messy scallops. Either way I still really like the way its turned out. All the pieces are backed using 6x6 papers from the collection

Here's some close ups..

I kept the embellishing to a minimum as the scallops gave plenty of colour to the layout and I wanted them to stand out just as much as the photo.

I've combined 2 of the cloud designs to create my title, using the Hello cloud and the dangly 'love' piece from the other cloud.

And lastly a super quick photo stack using pattern papers and some die cut pieces..

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Your Mumma | Scrap The Girls

Hello Hello! Welcome to May! Yep May... I cannot believe a third of the year has flown by. It just goes quicker and quicker.

Being the first of the month, its time to share a new Mood Board for Scrap The Girls, and as we celebrate Mothers day in May this board is dedicated to all the mothers we love and cherish

Here's what I came up with..

A special moment shared between Leila and I, that doesn't happen very often, if at all anymore. Snuggle time in the afternoon, resulting in Leila falling asleep on my lap. So thankful for these moments as they are very few and far between. So thankful to be her Mumma.

I've used a past kit from Hip Kit club and featured loads of fussy cut florals from their exclusive paper that month. I love using bright happy colours on my layouts, plus these flower designs we super pretty and perfect for layering together.

Adding to the bright florals with pattern papers and a frame under the photo.

Mixed title using some typed words and glitter thickers. I've stitched these down to ensure they stay on the page without falling off in later years

Thanks so much for stopping by to see my super quick layout share. Be sure to check out the Scrap The Girls blog to see more inspiring layouts from the rest of the Design Team.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
