Spread your wings | D-lish Scraps

Hi Scrappy Friends! I'm back today with a new layout share for D-lish Scraps featuring this months Just Add Paper kit - Pretty In Pink. We all know I love me some pink, and butterflies, so what better kit than this to get my scrap on!

I wanted to make a feature with all the butterflies from the printed vellum sheet, so I've chosen a photo to document of Leila wearing her own wings that works perfect with a butterfly theme. I've fussy cut all the butterflies from the sheet, then layered a few together to create some dimension. This took some time, but they look so pretty once complete. Next I grabbed a pre-cut and backed cut file (from The Cut Shoppe) that was sitting in my stash waiting for the right layout, then went a little embellishment crazy with all the bits from the kit..

I've used some complimenting papers under the photo to make it stand out a little more, and tucked in a few Journalling tabs and a piece of doily for some added layers.

Here's a closer look at the little cluster I created using some twisted twine, a flair button, layered butterfly and some pretty pearls from the kit

The other cluster towards the top right made of more of the layered butterflies, another flair from the kit, a sprinkling of pretty pearls and a bow made from twine. I also added in a couple of co-ordinating Forget me not flowers to add a touch of floral.

I've used some Maggie Holmes alpha stickers to create the title, while also adding a touch of gold to all the pink white and black.

Although this is the last cluster I'm sharing, it was actually the very first part of the layout I created. I've overlapped the Journal It spots over some washi tape, added the ribbon bow, glitter heart, some more twine from the packaging, a couple of the fussy cut & layered butterflies, Forget me not blooms and a few more pretty pearls from the kit.

Well, that's all from me today. I hope you've found this creation inspiring. Be sure to share your creations with us over in the Scrap Suite - our D-lish Scraps Facebook group.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Just Be You | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone! Today I'm sharing a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring the beautiful Wild at Heart Collection. I thought for this layout I would showcase the awesome new Chipboard Frames, by sharing a way to use loads of them in a grid style layout.

The photo's I've chosen to document had me stepping back in time, as they're a couple of selfies of Leila and I from back in 2013. Back when front facing cameras weren't as good as they are these days, and when those cheeks were so much more squishable lol

To start the layout I played around with placement of the different frames in the pack. I chose colours and designs that complimented each other, along with the background paper "Artisan" and set them out in a grid style design with some diagonal elements. I've layered pieces from the "Patchwork" paper behind the 2 smallest frames and a quote card from the "Fussy Cuts" paper in the other larger frame to use as a title. Under the 2 frames with photos I've added some doilies, a label from the "Fussy Cuts" paper and some complimenting die cut flowers from the Ephemera pack. Around the remainder of the page I've balanced out the embellishments using some  Accessory stickers, chipboard stickers, fussy Cut butterflies from the "Mariposa" Paper, a couple of Flair Buttons and some of my favourite Glitter enamel dots.

I'm really happy with the finished layout. It all came together better than I'd pictured in my head. Lets take a closer look..

Love the mixed media feel the Artisan paper gives, enabling the user to create something magical without the mess

I'm finding I use quote cards or sentiment strips as Titles more and more these days, keeping an already busy page less cluttered.

I know I say it all the time, but I'm really loving the florals in the collections. The perfect finishing touch to mini clusters

And lastly these frames, they would have to be my most favourite part of the layout, apart from the photos. A good balance of colours and patterns that blend in together without overpowering the layout.

Well, thats all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this layout and the use of frames has inspired you with your next creations. Be sure to share what you make with us in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community group on Facebook, or by using the hashtag #cocoavanillastudio on Instagram.

Until Next Time, Happy Scrapping!

#LOVEYA | The Cut Shoppe

Hi Everyone! I'm back today with a new layout share for The Cut Shoppe featuring the new Social Butterfly cut file. It's such a beautiful, delicate design thats perfect for making a feature on a page.

I started by cutting the entire design out with white cardstock, then a second cut of just the outline shape for the backing piece using a pretty blue star paper. Next I tucked the pieces of cut file both under and above the triangle pattern papers top and bottom. I've used the remainder of the whole butterflies, that couldn't be seen under the pattern papers, to layer on top of others to create some extra dimension. Oh, and I also cut some of the adjoining wings so that they weren't all flat

The pattern papers and embellishments I've used are from the December Hip kits, as the soft tones and bright pops of pink, used under the photo, are right up my scrapping alley!

Here's a look, and a link, to the cut file I've used

And now here's some close ups..

I've used lots of little bits tucked into and around the photo stack.

That's all from me today, I hope you've been inspired by my creation.
Be sure to check out The Cut Shoppe Etsy store for all the new cut files shared this past week.

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Two | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone! The layout I'm sharing for D-lish Scraps today has been inspired by one of our newest Cyber crop challenges and our current Inspiration Board.

I've chosen a sweet photo of Leila at her 2nd birthday a few years ago. It's nice to step back in time and remember how little and cute she was back then.

The challenge I've played along with is the "Tic Tac Toe" set by Anita. I chose 2 joining lines to play with by including Bling, Journalling, Bunting & Twine along with Flowers, Ink/Sprays & Doilies. To create the bunting I've used a mix of pink pattern papers from my stash, cut them all in different lengths and widths and fishtailed the bottoms. Next I added some Lace doilies and then sewed it all to the page across the tops of each piece. I then strung some twine along the tops and stapled into place, and popped the photo piece up with some fun foam for dimension. After this was all in place I worked on some clusters of embellishments using all my favourites from the D-lish store

Here's some close ups..

The top cluster is quite small and simple, 2 Forget me Not flowers, a resin flower and some D-lish dots..

Then in this cluster I've used some more Forget me Not flowers twisted together and tucked under the photo layer, a piece of coloured wire twisted into the shape of a 2, a Flair button, another resin flower and more glitter enamel dots

Repeating embellishments from the previous 2 clusters, and a closer look at the splatters created with the exclusive stencil from the March Pretty in Pink Just Add Paper kit, and some other mists from stash

This cluster was a little larger and consists of a Sequin butterflyFlair buttonpaper & resin flowers, some stamens and more D-lish dots.. I'm slightly obsessed with them lol

Then lastly a very quick title using some white Puffy Alphabet stickers, and a piece of Ombre Wordfetti.

That's all from me today. I hope this has inspired you in some way.

Forever in my heart | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone! I have a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio to share with you all featuring the amazing new collection - Wild at Heart. Today I'm focusing on the use of Vellum and Rubber charms, both of which are new items to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio range of products.

The photo I've chosen to document is one of Leila from a few months ago. She'd acquired a new pair of fun hot pink glasses within a Happy Meal box and was wearing them almost every day thereafter. They made her look super cute, so I went a little snap happy with the camera.

I've kept the background of the page quite fuss free as I knew I would be creating some form of large photo and embellishment cluster towards the centre of the layout. I used the woodgrain side of the 'Artisan' pattern paper along with some white card stock, and sewed around the edges for added detail. Next I worked on the layers under the photo by using a ripped piece of vellum, the library card from the 'Fussy Cuts' paper, a die cut piece that is tucked between the layers and white doily from my stash. I also embellished the edge with a word sticker, rubber charm and some fussy cut pieces of vellum.

To the right of the photo I created a large cluster of die cut ephemera pieces, some of which I've raised up with foam tape for dimension. I've also tucked in some more fussy cut vellum pieces, a couple of rubber charms, stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet, some twine on the tags and a couple of my most favourite glitter dots.

There's also a flair button with some messy thread tucked underneath, completely inspired by the messy thread clusters Missy produces!

Lastly I worked on the mini clusters top and bottom of the page. I placed these on the page to create a diagonal design for the layout. I feel this helps draw the eyes attention across the page, and towards all the pretty details. Within both clusters I've used a Rubber charm, fussy cut pieces of Vellum, die cut pieces and more glitter dots. Love me some glitter dots!

Well that's all from me today. I hope this has inspired you in some way, and that you're able to get your hands on this collection asap! I truly is a stunning collection that you don't want to miss out on!

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

You're a Limited Edition | The Cut Shoppe

Hi Everyone! Michelle here today with a new layout share. It's a little different to my previous layouts that are generally jam packed with cut file use, as I've only used the one file!

I've used the 'You're a limited edition' title from the Quirky Quotes set as my title, then went a little crazy with embellishments from a past Hip Kit around the photo. I chose butterflies and flowers for the theme of the page as I felt they worked well with the title. No two flowers or butterflies are ever identical, just like this little lady, and each and every one else in this world. We're all Limited Editions of ourselves.

I've used white cardstock for the title and popped it up off the page using some foam tape. Prior to cutting it out I welded the letters in the word 'you're' in Silhouette Studio to make it easier to adhere to the page. I also distressed the edges slightly with some of the burnt cork embellishment edges. I may have had black marks all over that white background, and myself at one point while doing this lol

Here's a closer look at all the other pretty details using a mixture of stickers, cork embellishments and some word strips from Hip Kit Club

I've created a banner using stickers from the Hazelwood collection by One Canoe Two, and sewed them in place.

Quite a funny story behind these silly photos, all summed up in a few lines.

That's all from me today, I hope its inspired you in some way. Be sure to stop by The Cut Shoppe Etsy store to check out the new designs released this past week!

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!

Creative Cards | D-lish Scraps

Hello! Super quick post today to share some cards I made for this months D-lish Scraps Inspiration Board

The Board this month is FULL of pinks and pretty inspiring pictures which is perfect for lovers of D-lish products as theres so many things that come in pink!

Lets take a closer look at each card..

This one took no time at all, and can easily be replicated. I've used a white card base with a piece of Pink pattern paper cut to size, a lace doily in the 4 inch size, a bunch of pink Forget me Not flowers (literally from the bag I received them in) a pretty sequin bow, cardfetti strip and a couple of mini glitter enamel dots. Super quick and easy!

The second card required a little extra time, and way more flowers than the other. I've used the same white card base with the reverse side of the pattern paper from the other card, another 4 inch white lace paper doily, some paper flowers, fabric flowers, an older crochet flower, some resin pieces, coloured wire, cardfetti strip, my favourite glitter enamel dots and some stamens.

Thats all from me for now, hopefully these cards have given you some form of inspiration!

32 | Scrap The Girls

Hi Everyone! The start to the new month means theres a new challenge ready for you on the Scrap The Girls blog! This month is a challenge perfect for those who love a good selfie ;)

Not something I enjoy doing very much lol more often than not I'd prefer taking endless amounts of photos of Leila - She's way more photogenic. Anyways... Here's what I came up with using the beautiful Make a Wish collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio

As documented in the journalling, the photo I've chosen was one of many selfies taken in early January. I'd just been given the news I'd made a new Design team and was in need of new headshot to be used in badges. And this photo seemed to be the only half decent one out of them all.

I've used this same cut file from Cocoa Vanilla Studio on a recent layout, and liked the finished look so I had to use it again. A perfect addition of floral detail when one is running short of florals that come in the ephemera packs.

I've tucked in the numbers 3 & 2 to the side of the photo as a mini title, as that would be the age I turned on my last birthday.. I think lol

To balance the layout Ive added more die cut ephemera pieces to the top right, to form a diagonal design with the other side of the layout. I've also scattered a few of my favourite mini glitter dots around both the top and bottom clusters

Lastly my typed journalling, and a close up of the layers under the photo. I kept this simple as the cut file and ephemera pieces, along with the backing strip, were quite busy.

I hope this has given you some inspiration to scrap yourself, even if you feel silly taking the photos. Its worth having YOU in your albums too!

Be sure to stop by the Scrap the Girls blog to see what the rest of the team created for this challenge, and to share your creations with us! Until Next time, Happy Scrapping
