D-Lish 5th Birthday BONANZA

At the start of July D-Lish Scraps celebrated their 5th birthday!!
Amanda and the Design team hosted a 5th Birthday BONANZA
A weekend full of fun and challenges - 8 in total

I managed to complete 3
Challenge #1 - Scraplift by Tara
I delved straight into my dusty paper stash here to use up some of my older papers.
A few goodies from Dlish and I created a pretty similar layout to Tarrah's original..

Challenge #2 - Sketch by Kylie
This layout was so much fun to create. It all flowed together so quick!

Challenge #4 - Mood Board by Agnus
I ended up scrap lifting most of the sample layout that Agnus had prepared for the BONANZA
The rainbow of bags and painted background looked like lots of fun.
Thanks for stopping by, more to share over the next few days..

Scrapping with friends - a birthday treat

At the end of June I spent almost an entire week celebrating my 30th birthday.
On one of those days, I was lucky enough to spend some time crafting with friends.
Raquel, my best and oldest friend, had organised for a few of us to get together for lunch and some crafting time. Little did I know it was also to spoil me with cakes and flowers.

I was super productive in the few hours that I spent there, churning out 4 layouts!!
First up to share today is
Jumping in MUDDY PUDDLES
Inspired by some recent experimenting with distress inks and water, I made the background by slathering my ink all over my craft mat, spraying with some water, placing the paper over the water/ink then holding it up to let it run down the page. Ive then added some gesso into random places using a honeycomb mask that was in my stash. After that dried I smeared some yellow gelato over the top.
Once I was happy with the background, I layered up random pieces of pattern paper from the Hello Sunshine collection by Pink Paislee. Added in a couple of 3x4 cards from the journalling card set, then a few of the stickers and ephemera from the same collection. A title made from Heidi Swapp colour magic alphas, coloured in with distress ink and I was done.

Next is
HELLO CUTIE although I don't think that is actually its title, as its not 100% finished.
Another Pink Paislee collection - Hello Kid. Ive used the girly papers and embellishments for this page, along with some white cardstock, vellum and my favourite Studio Calico doily.. This was a super quick layout to make. One that I didnt have to think about to much once started.

I then moved onto this layout, while consuming THE BEST mini cakes I have EVER tasted…
YOU ARE FABULOUS
Another super quick layout made with the Daily Stories collection by Teresa Collins. Ive used 2 of the pattern papers from the collection plus some vellum. To add some dimension to the page Ive used some of the butterfly stickers to pop them up off the page. All other lettering and stickers are from the 2 sticker sheets from the same range.

And last of all
HAPPY MESSY FUN
This was made from another A Piece of Cake Designs kit that I've been hoarding in my collection lol
Featuring plenty of Amy Tangerine goodness! Ive layered up strips of glitter tape, pattern paper, journalling cards, an APOCD wood veneer card, cardstock frame and called it quits lol It was time to head home so its not completely finished, I'm sure theres more that I can add to it, some journalling along the bottom in strips probably. But anyway the memory is recorded for now.

Thanks again for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you in some way.

Just because scrapping

Hello fellow crafters
If you couldn't already tell, Ive been on quite a creative streak.. Most of the layouts Ive been sharing were all made at the end of June/Start of July.. Ive still got plenty more to share too!

Up first for today is
YOU ARE OUR SUNSHINE
I put this layout together using the February cupcake kit I was hoarding in my stash from A Piece of Cake Designs. I've layered up papers, from the Fresh Cut collection by Basic Grey, under my photo with a vellum bag and my favourite doily from Studio Calico. Finished off with a few embellishments and splatters of the lime coloured mist from the kit and I thought I was done. I felt it needed a little extra colour, so I cut the white card stock down slightly and matted it onto some green pattern paper (from an unknown source as it was in my stash without a label) then sewed around all 4 sides of the layout.

Next up is a layout that started with a bit of fun with distress ink daubers..
PHOTO BOOTH FUN
I LOVE a good splattering of distress ink, and for this layout I thought it would be fun to use just that and no pattern papers. I printed my photos out at 1.8inch squares and then layered them up in different ways on top of some vellum. I added some strips of glitter paper in random places, sewed a couple of lines through the splatters, and added my title. Im still yet to go back and add the date to that strip from D-Lish Scraps.

Thanks for stopping by, more to share very soon

Oh My Goodness LEILA GRACE!!

The first week of the month always means a new sketch challenge is up over on the Life Paper Scrapbook blog

This month I ended up with two layouts for inspiration as the first was just not cutting the mustard.

Today I thought I would share just one of the layouts, which was the layout shared within the design team samples blog post.

I've turned the sketch on its side, added a couple of extra layers under the photo and moved the round embellishments to the bottom right of the photos

The papers Ive used for this layout come from the Felicity collection from Glitz Design. Bright pops of pink and blue teamed up with some white and grey. Add in some white cardstock, glitter POW paper a couple of doilies and my favourite vellum.

A close up to show the distressed edges of all the layers. I run a pair of blunt scissors around the edges to rough them up slightly to achieve this look

The stickers Ive used are from the 12x12 sticker sheet that came in the Glitz kit. I teamed them up with a wood veneer arrow and a flair badge from A Piece of Cake Designs.

Scrappy Canary are sponsoring this months Sketch challenge with a $25 voucher for one lucky winner!

All details for this months challenge are on the blog post HERE along with the other design team members layouts. Hope to see LOTS of entries this month!

Hello Pretty Lady with D-Lish Scraps

The Beginning of the month means a new Inspiration Board for D-Lish Scraps
Sadly it also means the last board for the Winter Creative Team :(

I present to you Cotton Candy
With its sweet pastel tones, frames and delicate florals this board really lives up to its name!

The minute I saw the board I knew exactly what paper I needed to find within my stash. This Bokeh effect paper from the Maggie Holmes collection was perfect!
"Hello Pretty Lady" is jam packed with D-Lish goodness! I really wanted to go out with a bang, and show just how many embellishments you can add to a page without it taking focus away from the photo.

I grabbed a die-cut frame from my d-lish box and coloured it with a pink ink pad. I cut part of it out to use amongst the cluster at the bottom of the page.

This was the first time I had a play around with my silhouette. I cut the title out twice with white cardstock and vellum, then attached both together to the page with my tiny attacher.

I added a couple of different doilies, a bitty bag, journal it and part of a pink fresh frame for layers under the photo.

This cluster right here… My most favourite cluster ever made lol funky washi tape, journal it date strip, pink fresh arrow, d-lish flowers and flair, sequin bow, freckled fawn stars, rhinestone gems and some glitter tape from my own stash. LOVE! You can find all this goodness and more within the D-Lish STORE..

Cant wait to see what you all come up with. Be sure to head to the D-Lish blog to see what the other team members came up with. AMAZING!!
