Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Happy Birthday Beautiful

Hello Scrappy friends I'm back here today with a new layout to share with you all for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. For this layout I was given the task of creating a birthday themed project, and what better collection to use to document a birthday celebration than the newest collection full of bright happy colours - Happiness. I went back a couple of years and chose a photo from Leilas 7th birthday featuring her sweet cousin and a delicious cake

I started the layout by cutting down a piece of cardstock to 11.5inch square and laying it over a piece of SPRINKLESpaper to give subtle pops of extra colour and machine stitched around the border for added detail. Next I cut a couple of banners from a set designed by fellow DT member Gwen from her cut file shop - Cut to You. I associate banners with all kinds of celebrations, and the cake has a sweet little happy birthday banner for decoration, so I felt that using the banner cut files tied it all together nicely.

I backed 2 of the triangle banners with the MEADOWpaper - my most favourite within this bright happy collection. The hearts banner I backed using the B side of EXPRESSIVE, the scallop banner using the B side of GOOD VIBESand the 3rd triangle banner is backed using green patterns from the B sides of FRAME of MINDand LITTLE THINGSplus the 'green' sections of GOOD VIBES.

After sewing the tops of all the banners with my machine, I layered them randomly down the layout and adhered them using glue dots for dimension. Next I added my photo which I've layered with multiple pops of colour using an ephemeraframe, cut apart cards from theLITTLE THINGSpaper and a little more of the B side of GOOD VIBES.

Then it was on to the embellishing part of creating fun layouts. I created a couple of similar clusters at the ends of the banners (within a visual triangle) using floral EPHEMERApieces, CLEARstickers, ACCESSORYstickers, some fussy cut florals and butterflies from the BRIGHT & BEAUTIFULpaper. I realised a few weeks back that the tiny florals within the ephemera packs are almost always the first items I use up before the packs even open HAHA so I've resorted to fussy cutting the tiny florals from the MEADOWpaper and gosh they are cute!

I dipped back in to some older stash for these white alphas from the Colour Me Happy collection, sadly they're not currently available in the shop. The perfect accompaniment for this mixed title - CARDSTOCK TITLE piece, WHITE ALPHAS and a word sticker from the ACCESSORY sheet

Heres a closer look at one of the lower clusters. I just LOVE tiny flowers.. fussy cutting them out, not so much !

Lastly I added a splattering of gold colour shine and called it done

Thats all from me today. I hope you've enjoyed taking a closer look at my fun birthday themed creation. Be sure to pop into the Cocoa Vanilla Studio group on Facebook to share all your birthday themed creations with us

Until next time, Happy scrapping!

You are my Happy | CVS Happiness Collection

Hello Hello, I'm back today with a new layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio as part of our current Fussy Cutting feature. For this post I've used the wonderful Happiness Collection and made a feature of the wreath floral designs by fussy cutting the entire piece out and layering together to create one massive floral centrepiece.

This is a very easy design to recreate as it doesn't require too much effort other than fussy cutting the wreath on the SO FRESH paper and a few butterflies from the 6x8 paper pad. I've highlighted the rough points where I've cut the wreath in the image below as I kept the individual clusters together so I didn't lose too much of the floral designs

Next I layered the pieces over and under each other just under the half way point of the white cardstock background. I've used foam tape and glue dots to raise each piece up for dimension.

I also tucked in pieces of leaves that I cut off the larger florals to create more layers.

Theres a handful of fussy cut mini butterflies from the BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL paper (6x8 size) that I've added as an extra design element within and around the cluster as they're so beautiful and work so well together with the big bright florals.

I added a couple of pattern papers behind the photo to make it stand out a little more amongst the florals. These are smaller designs of SO FRESH, EXPRESSIVE & GOOD VIBES from the 6x8 paper pad. I layered the  YOU ARE MY HAPPY from the LITTLE THINGS cut apart paper for the title and the word die cut LOVELY from the ephemera pack just because.

Down on the bottom left I added another ephemera piece along with more fussy cut butterflies

And then a couple more ephemera pieces with a butterfly at the top right corner. Lastly I cut the white cardstock down to 11.5inch square and backed it with a piece of BOTANICAL BLISS to bring ALL the colours of the rainbow together.

Well thats all from me today. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my take on this months Fussy Cut theme. I can't wait to see what inspires you all within our social media channels.

Thanks so much for stopping by, until next time HAPPY SCRAPPING!

Everyday Happiness | CVS Happiness Collection

Hello Crafty friends, I have a new layout share for you today featuring the wonderful Happiness collection and a fun journalling prompt for you to recreate. Each year I try to document a layout of Leila in the exact same format, including a list of all her current 'favourites'. Heres this years compilation.

I started the layout by scrap lifting the exact design I've used for the last 2 years as I felt this would keep future documenting on track if I knew exactly when and how I was compiling this information. I started with a grid of pattern papers from both the paper pad (Good Vibes & Little Things) and 12x12 papers (Frame of mind, Expressive, & Meadow) sewed to the page for a little extra texture and detail, a handwritten list of favourites using note paper torn from a paper pad, a fun photo to match one of the many things this child of mine LOVES and a tonne of pretty embellishments from the ephemera pack to create clusters of pretty details within the top and bottom corners. I also snuck in a couple of pieces from the FREE cut files created by Gwen to compliment this collection

This years list was quite similar to last years as not much has changed in what she loves in life the most. A couple of additions included the new found love for the 3 stooges and telling jokes now that she can read quite fluently (definitely has her fathers sense of humour). Still an avid collector of ALL things Super Mario related. I don't think thats ever going to go away!

I've used some of the Bright & Beautiful paper under the list as it reminded me of a clip board, and clip boards usually have lists on them so I went with that. I added the words 'every day' from the clear sticker set to some white cardstock then fussy cut them to use as the title for the list including the collection logo from a paper barcode strip. Behind the photo I've used some of the beautiful teal coloured printed reverse side of the Good Vibes paper, some scraps of the pretty hearts on the reverse of the So Fresh paper and some stickers from the accessory sticker sheet tucked in to the top and bottom for extra 'layering' effect. I also added a heart cut file piece, ephemera flower and a flair button - something I've not used in quite some time!

In the top left and bottom right corners I created some pretty clusters using cut file pieces, ephemera and stickers with a few different types of adhesives for a range of dimension - staples and both raised and flat glue dots. Love love Love a pretty cluster with dimension!

Lastly I added a couple of stickers from the accessory sheet to the opposite corners of the clusters, splattered the page with a ridiculous amount of gold colour shine and called it done!

Well thats all from me today. I hope this has inspired you in someway to document a list of favourites, whether it be for yourself or a loved one. Its so much fun to create, and will be good to look back on in future years when favourites have well and truly changed.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time, happy scrapping

Hoppy Easter | CVS Happiness Collection

Hello hello, I'm back with a super quick layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio! I've used the bright and colourful Happiness collection for this layout along with a cut file that was super easy to create using simple text in Silhouette studio. A layout to celebrate the fun of Easter, when Leila goes hop hop HOPPING mad lol

I started the layout by creating the MASSIVE cut file title using a couple of different fonts in silhouette studio and the fancy 'offset' and 'weld' functions. The world is your oyster when you know how these functions work! I cut the out line of the cut file out using white cardstock, then to create less work and no fussy cutting I cut the backing piece for the file using some of the SUPER pretty MEADOW paper.

I raised the entire cut piece up off the backing cardstock using a TONNE of foam tape to add a whole heap of dimension. I also cut down the white cardstock and backed it using the B side of the EXPRESSIVE paper for an extra pop of colour around the edges.

TO the top right of the massive title I've added my photos, backed with LITTLE THINGS paper and layered with multiple die cut ephemera pieces to create one big cluster. Oh my heck I love a good floral cluster!

To balance out the layout I've added a few more florals over on the bottom left and included a die cut heart and banner sticker

Then finished the layout with a couple more ephemera pieces over on the bottom right. Lastly I added a whole heap of splattered gold ink and called it a night.

This layout truly was a joy to create, and super quick at that. I encourage anyone who has access to a silhouette or similar to have a go at creating your own MASSIVE titles! Its so much fun!!

Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by!

Until Next time, happy scrapping, and silhouetting!

Hello Sweet Girl | CVS Happiness Collection

Hello sweet crafty friends. Have you heard the news about our EXCLUSIVE, fun and 100% FREE cut files to compliment the brand new Happiness collection? Our fellow DT member Gwen has designed these especially for all of you to create magic with. How awesome is that!

Here's what I've created using the wreath, large floral and open hearts designs. SO FUN!

When I first saw this stunning cut file set I was instantly drawn to the wreath design and felt it would work so well with the SO FRESH paper (bright floral wreath). Using my silhouette software I increased the size of the cut file design to fit the dimensions of the bright floral wreath and cut it out on some white cardstock. I adhered the cut piece to the pattern paper using some foam tape for slight dimension, because we all know I just can't create a flat layout to save myself! HAHA

I also used the larger floral piece and open hearts design from the cut file set to finish the remainder of the wreath. I backed the florals using pieces of MEADOW and EXPRESSIVE papers and some vellum for the leaves. I added more foam tape to the backs of these pieces and adhered them to the top left and bottom right of the wreath before adding a photo to the bottom of the layout.

This sweet girl has a love hate relationship with the camera but photos like this mean the world to us. Sweet innocent Leila, who on that very day had just turned 8. Time flies so so fast!

I added my title to the top left floral piece using a sticker, cardstock title piece and letter stickers from a past collection. Above this I added a butterfly and floral from the ephemera pack, an open heart cut file piece and a couple of clear stickers to add an extra 'splash to the mixed media feel that the wreath paper has. Those coloured splatters - all part of the wonderful printed design (the gold ones are splattered by me)

I've used pieces of the EXPRESSIVE, SO FRESH and FRAME OF MIND papers behind the photo, and a couple more ephemera pieces in a mini cluster to the right.

Well friends thats all I have to share with you today. I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I created with our fun new FREE cut files. Be sure to pop into the Cocoa Vanilla Studio facebook group to share what you create with them. You can find the FREE cut file download HERE on the website.

Happy Times | CVS Happiness Collection

Hello Scrappy friends it's Michelle back here today with a new layout share. I've used the wonderful new Happiness collection that most certainly makes me oh so happy to create! Have I told you how much I'm loving these fresh bright colours?

For todays creation I've focused on using the large die cut and backing kit a little differently to how is was designed. Still a super simple layout to recreate so make sure to share with us if you do.
To start I cut out all the woodgrain pattern from the backing sheet and added in the hearts paper from the 6x8 paper pad. Next I adhered the die cut piece to the backing sheet then cut the large heart piece out before adding detail with machine stitching. I added foam sheets to the back of the heart and adhered the large piece to the white cardstock.

Next was the photo, chosen for its bright colours to match the collection, taken at Leila's birthday back in December with some fun photo props. Then I fell into old habits and created a diagonal design layout using ephemera pieces and foam tape for dimension. It seems to be my go to layout design with large die cuts, I just can't help it HAHA

Love me some pretty floral pieces!!!

Last of all I added a couple of extra pieces from the ephemera pack to create the larger title cluster, added some hand written journalling and  then sprinkled gold colour shine all over the layout to finish it off.

Well thats all from me today. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my take on a different way to use the large die cut and backing kit.
Until next time, happy Scrapping!

Lovely | CVS Happiness Collection

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Michelle here today and boy am I excited to share this new layout. About a week or 2 ago I received the best "happy mail" on my door step - our newest collection Happiness. This collection is FULL of bright colours and super sweet patterns and has now become my new firm favourite of all the Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections. Who couldn't love ALL THAT RAINBOW goodness!!

For this creation I've focused on using the papers within the 6x8 paper pad from the collection. I love that Zoe has added a slightly larger size paper pad to the collections lately as they're the perfect size for so many projects. You can fold a piece in half to create a card, cut them up to use within pocket page scrapbooking and even use them to back cut files with. The smaller scale designs are super cute and work so well together with delicate cut files like the one I've used from Cut to You (designed by our very own DT member Gwen)

The colours within this collection are so bright and cheerful, and perfectly represent the colours of Happiness and this sweet girls happy spirit.

I backed random hearts with a few of my favourite patterns (Sprinkles, So fresh, Little Things, Expressive and Meadow) then added some foam tape to the back and adhered to the white cardstock. Next I added the photo with a piece of Sprinkles paper (reverse side) and a word title and large floral piece from the ephemera pack. I also added a few random bits from each of the papers to the right edge of the layout and sewed them in place for an extra pop of colour. SO fun!

Once I had the main focal points of the layout complete (and loaded with colour) I added a couple of smaller clusters to bring it all together. I've used pieces from the 6x8 cut apart sheet, floral die cut pieces from the ephemera pack and word stickers from the accessory sheet.

In the lower cluster I've added a couple of extra heart pieces that I salvaged from the first attempt at creating this page. But we won't speak about that disaster lol

So many pretty details, loads of sweet designs and SO MUCH colour! LOVE LOVE LOVE this collection, I hope you do too!

Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by
Until next time, Happy Scrapping
