Project Life Week 31 - Life Paper Scrapbook

Massive apology for this not being posted when the LPS blog post went live!! I have a great reason - Ive been busy busy running a Project Life stand for Craft House at the Paperific Scrapbook show in Melbourne. Its on again tomorrow (Sunday 1st September) Pop by and say hello if you are in the area.

Life Paper Scrapbook has a brand new monthly Challenge starting this month, and it involves my favourite subject, Project Life. Our challenge this month was to show layering within Project Life. I think I managed to complete this spread well.

For the weekly mini title card I have layered a veneer frame over some journalling labels with some pretty sequins for a little bling.

This is the full layout for the week.

The left hand side features my favourite cards from the LPS Day to Day kit. Lots of added layers on this side.

A close up of one of my most favourite journal cards, with some slight changes. Love how it turned up.

For this card, I cut the journal tab off the 4x6 car and attached on top of the photo with my tiny attacher, then added a few of the words from the tiny text sheet in Add on kit 2

I didnt have a lot of photos for the week so I resorted to using a design E pocket page protector to make some mini 6x6 layouts to document our Sunday :)

Layers of pattern paper from the paper pad and 4x6 cards underneath the photo of my nephew.

Lucky last - a pic of my yummy lunch that I sent through to a friend that day. Lots of fun bits n bobs added to the bottom left of the card.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I have inspired you all to add some extra layers into your project life spreads.

Head on back to the LPS blog to share your layered layouts with us to go in the running to win an awesome Prize from our ongoing Sponsor Gossamer Blue

August Colour Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

Its that time of month again! Time for another Life Paper Scrapbook Challenge!!
This week its the August Colour Challenge, and below is the colour palette to follow
These colours were so out of my normal scrapping range that I had no idea if I would be able to work with them. That was until I got my hands on some arty supplies (gesso & gelatos)

I started with a white cardstock base, a Heidi Swapp 12x12" mask, a tub of gesso and 5 gelato sticks and got my craft on! This was my first time using both gesso and gelatos so it is a bit of a mess! lol but I love it

I didn't take many photos of the process, but I will make another page soon and give a detailed explanation of how I made it.

Using the mask and gesso I made my own 'resist' background. Once that was dry I coloured over random hearts which looked hideous! I ended up smearing the colours across the page with a sponge. Some hearts stayed coloured, some cleaned right off, but its all a new learning experience for me and was a lot of fun!

I then raided my stash to see what I had to complement the background... That was tricky! I found a few papers in my 6x6 paper pad stash. The "smile" strip was from the top of one of them. I layered these up with foam tape on top of some Dear Lizzy crepe ruffle paper from the Neapolitan collection. I added some of my favourite textured mesh ribbon and a Flair from A Piece of Cake Designs

And this is how it all came together. I didn't add anymore to the title as I felt it didn't need anything more than the 'smile' strip, plus I couldn't decide on the right wording and didn't want to mess it up.

The white cardstock has warped slightly from the gesso and gelatos as I did use some water to smear the colours across the page. I have adhered the white cardstock to a piece of black cardstock to make it stand out more.

Head on over to the Life Paper Scrapbook blog to check out the other designers work - There are so many awesome layouts from the team this month! And be sure to link up your layouts, there is an awesome Amy Tangerine prize pack up for grabs from American Crafts!

Project Life Week 30

Another week complete YAHOO!

Week 30 featuring the Jade Project Life kit by Becky Higgins

Again Ive stuck to kit cards only, photos and a pen. Arrows have been cut from 3x4 journal cards with a double arrow punch.

Ive used a couple of stamps on this side, my trusty date stamp and the star stamp that was in a set from Give a girl a Stamps. The photos of the Royals were borrowed from a lovely online friend of mine Beth from the Project Life Australia group on Facebook. Fantastic group for sharing inspiration within!

The glitter alphas I've used are from Typo that were out on clearance a few months back.

Loving how quick and easy these weeks are coming together when I stick to the basics :)

And thats where Im caught up to so far!

Project Life is a concept designed by Becky Higgins. It is a range that works anyway you want it to. You don't have to embellish your layouts or use any extra products like I do. You can easily record an album full of memories with just a Core Kit, bulk pack of page protectors and a 12x12 Album. I purchase all my core products from Craft House - Exclusive stockist for Australia and New Zealand.

Project Life Week 29

Continuing on with my simple approach for week 29, using the Blush Project Life Kit

The full week - No inserts for this week as I managed to fit everything into the weekly spread YAY
The colours within this kit are so pretty. Definitely another favourite that will be perfect to document Leila's years growing up.

I didnt add much extra to this weeks layout. I used a circle punch on one of the 3x4 journal cards to create the Love this embellishment. I also cut banners out for the bottom of the photo from 2 other journal cards. (I now have alot of chopped up cards from the previous weeks layout and this one. All will come in handy for cutting down to journal on)

I attached the Instax photos straight to the 4x6 card with my Tiny attacher. Fantastic tool to own if you dont already. The alphas I have used within the layout are both Basic Grey.

Short and sweet for this week.. up next is a layout featuring the Jade core kit..
Loving this simple approach!

Project Life Week 28

Week 28 was a turning point for me.. A Realisation that I have SO MUCH Project Life stash. That I need to start using it to make way for all the new goodness that are coming soon! And that I really cant fit 4 albums onto the shelf for the year, it needs to be 3 lol

So moving forward in documenting the remainder of our year I need to start using the core kit cards more! Use Less chunky embellishments!!! but still HAVE FUN!

I will still be using other brand products here and there - but I will be trying my best to keep it simple!!

Ok enough of the rambling and onto the photos..

Here is my week 28 featuring the Becky Higgins Project Life KRAFT Core kit

This is the week without the insert. I used parts of cards as embellishments for this week.. And a couple of photos borrowed from other scrappy friends from the Pink Concert I went to that week. Was AMAZING!!

This shows the week as it looks in my album. The big photo of Pink was part of the Merchandise range to buy at the concert.

This was a quiet week for photos, we didn't do anything exciting until the weekend. The extra bits that I've added to cards on this side were cut from the 3x4" journalling cards and the arrow from one of the 4x6" cards. The glitter alphas were from Typo many months ago. And yes that is hair from my big hair chop in that vellum bag..

I chose to use all 4x6 photos for this side, and embellish with parts of journal cards from the kit. The buttons are from a button pack that were sold at the show. Ive used a kraft spotted bag and a cut up journal card to keep the ticket and parking receipt from the night.

A close up of an arrow and banner cut from journal cards from the Kraft PL kit and the button from the merchandise pack.

And the other banners from the cards in the Kraft kit..

This was such a fun kit to create with. I am definitely looking forward to using it again!

Project Life Week 26

In Week 26, on the 26th I had a birthday.. another year older. It was the quietest birthday ever!
My Parents left for their 3 week cruise around Europe and Clinton was away for work. I was saved by my best bud Raquel who brought me a birthday dinner! YAY!

Ive used the Snippets collection from Studio Calico for this week..
This was another challenging week.. LOTs more photos! I cant believe how different so many weeks can be, although the last few have been super busy photo wise! I had 1 insert for this week, documenting the fun I did manage to have before mum and dad walked out the door ..

There were so many photos for this week that I needed to search high and low in my stash for another of the We R Memory Keepers page protectors.. Never in the place you think they are (that problem is now solved - I will blog about storage and organisation of my stash one day soon)

Love everything about this collection! The colours just POP, the added extras are so much fun.
The chipboard arrows are super cool, and the polaroid frames are great for 'framing' the subject of the photo.

Have just realised that this photo is a little blurry :( If you cant already tell from most of my other weeks of PL I do love me some SMASH label tape! although it was around now that my little purple labeller started catching and playing up.. It has now completely broken, and Ive had to revert back to my old Dymo.. not happy - it spaces the letters out :(

This is the back half to the insert about my birthday.. How awesome are those Thickers! I bought both colour packs as I know they will be well used! The mini alphas are from Basic Grey.

Thank you for stopping by again.. This is all I am sharing for tonight.. Week 27 is a feature post on the Polka Dot Creative blog.. Keep your eyes peeled for it within the next few days :)

Have a great weekend!

Project Life Week 25

Week 25... Oh how you killed me!! This layout literally took me forever to finish!
Nothing was working for me, and Im still not 100% happy with it.
I dont know if its because of the products used?? You be the judge, let me know what you think :)

I used the Spencer's Card Kit from Studio Calico for this weeks layout. And again lots of photos for the week so I have used a We R Memory Keepers page protector

The left Hand side... and YES it really was THAT cold!! Im sure its nothing compared to other places, but thats cold for me!! I am literally lost for words on what to say about this layout - it has been a long day! I shall let the photos do the talking!

And the right hand side... everything in the layouts we from the card kit, apart from the doily.. Loving the Basic Grey alphas! Must stock up on those when they are released here soon.

Ive been having alot of fun with my instax camera lately. Theres more of those little pops of goodness in future layouts.

Time for the next post...... :)

Project Life Week 24 with some inserts...

Week 24 seems like so long ago!!
It was such a busy week as you will see in the next few photos.

Ive used the two June kits from A Piece of Cake Designs to document these photos. The Main kit was used for the main weeks photos, and the cupcake kit plus a bunch of cards from the Honey Core kit for the inserts documenting my trip to Sydney for the Quilt and Craft show.

Beware this post has LOTS OF PHOTOS!!!

This is what the week looks like without the inserts..

and this is what it looks like in my album with inserts added.

This would have to be one of my favourite kits that Raquel has put together. So much Colour and FUN in those papers and embellishments!

I love any sort of Alpha stickers, these are super cute! The Mesh banner was from my stash.

On the Right hand side I incorporated a few pebbles tags that were part of the extras on sale with the kit. The arrow Cherry flairs were also part of the June release.

How funky is this bag! This is how my room service was delivered when I was staying in Sydney. I couldn't bare to throw it out, it was way to cool!

And a close up of what I used to layer under the photos, doilies and the serviette from the bag (yes it was a clean one) And a yummy arrow Cherry Flair from a June release at APOCD.

Now onto the other inserts
The next few photos are the inserts documenting my Sydney trip. I had so much fun with my new scrappy friend Carol. It was my first time away from Leila and Clinton, but I was able to enjoy my self as we had so much to do! Ive used a mixture of papers from the APOCD Cupcake kit and cards from the Honey Core kit..

I met so many new friends at the Expo! And if you're ever in Sydney you MUST head to Eat Love Pizza - their pasta is AMAZING!! We made sure to go for a ride on the monorail while we were there, as it has now been shut down :( Scariest ride ever!

And the last few photos from the last day. Was a great mini trip! Cant wait to get back there to explore some more.

Hoping to get the next few weeks posted by the end of the weekend.. Apologies for photo overload, its about to kick into overdrive!!

August Sketch Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

Naughty me fell off the LPS Challenge bandwagon last month as it was super busy here at home.... BUT Im back on board for this month!! YAY

The layout I made took me less than 20 minutes!! I already had it planned out in my head so it came together SUPER QUICK!

This is the sketch we had to inspire us

and this is what I came up with

Ive used the July Main kit from A Piece of Cake Designs. Love the colours included in this kit. Very pretty, but not to bright. I made the circle shape with twine and stapled that straight to the page with my Tiny Attacher.

A close up of the cluster I made with some flowers, veneer, a sequin and star sticker from the embellishments pack.

And a close up of the title. I have used both sets of Alphas from the APOCD kit. I didnt stick them down fully as I didnt want them to sit completely flat on the page.

Hope this has inspired you to join in the fun with us this month! Head on over to the Life Paper Scrapbook blog to share your creations with us to go in the running to win a fantastic prize from this months Challenge Sponsor Skipping5. Details on the LPS blog post :)
