Project Life Week 17

Sharing my Week 17 Project Life layout with you today

This was a quiet week... Not many photos to use, as I was busy living life but forgetting to record it.  I think I did a good job with what I had :)

Ive used part of the Neverland PL kit from Studio Calico, a couple of veneer pieces and a Fabrip (sticky fabric strip) on the edge of the page protector to stretch the layout out wider.

Here you can see that I cut the today banner out of the journal card and attached with some foam tape to pop it out.
And I've used 2 of the Maggie Holmes clips on the top of the page for added bling..
I stapled them down then put washi tape over the top

Quick and easy :)

Project Life is a concept designed by Becky Higgins. It is a range that works anyway you want it to. You don't have to embellish your layouts or use any extra products like I do. You can easily record an album full of memories with just a Core Kit, bulk pack of page protectors and a 12x12 Album. I purchase all my core products from Craft House - Exclusive stockist for Australia and New Zealand.

Project Life Week 15

Finally had a chance to sit down and concentrate on crafting yesterday! I went to a 12 hour crop day and was able to focus on nothing but Project Life! YAY I managed to get close to 3 PL week layouts completed in that time frame, plus a 8x8" layout using someone else's photo. That was so much fun!

YAY for Week 15 being complete!
Ive used the Studio Calico Front Row Project Life kit, Smash tape and a handful of veneer shapes. Love me some Veneer
Loved this kit, didn't need to add too much extra as the cards spoke for themselves.

Hope you like what Ive made
I will be back within the next few days with another 2 weeks worth of layouts.

May Colour Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

Today Im here to share the layout I made for the May Colour Challenge for Life Paper Scrapbook.

This is the colour combo to play with this month YUM YUM would love a Macaron right now!

Normally I would create a Project Life layout for this, however I was so excited when I received the MAY Cake kit from A Piece of Cake Designs (now sold out) that I knew I wanted to make a layout instead. The colours are perfect! Especially the Heidi Swapp tags that were in mine.

So this is what I came up with

I had the layout pictured as I was pulling out the kit ingredients and I assembled half of the page before I had even chosen the photo I was going to use.

My recipe is as follows
- I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock for the base, and splattered it with Mint Green HS Color Shine
- Next I trimmed down the vellum to 8x8inch. Scrunched it up then slightly flattened it out so that it sat out from the page.
- Then I cut off a strip of the yellow sunburst paper 'Serendipity - New Day' to approx 2"x11" and roughed up the edges with a pair of scissors.
- Next I sprayed one of the Heidi Swapp tags with the Mint Green Color Shine and left it to dry while I roughed up the edges of the 'Beautiful' banner card with scissors. Then cut both tags in half to use in 2 places on the layout
- Once I finally decided which photos I wanted to use, I printed them out 3x5" size and sanded the edges to give them a rough white border
- Then I took some of the white cardstock and cut it slightly larger than the 2 photos I had and dabbed lightly all over it with my pink Hero Arts ink pad, then adhered the photos to the top so that part of the cardstock was showing below.
- This is when I eventually started sticking things down properly with tape and staples - LOVE my tiny attacher!
- Scattered a few pink sequins around the page, then glued them down once I was happy with their placement

- Next I added the Bling.. A Cherry barcode flair from the April release at A Piece of Cake Designs,  plus a flower that was in the May cake kit. I broke the yellow bead off from the middle of the flower and glued it back down with a sequin to make it sparkle a little more.
- I cut a banner from the white glitter tape and stuck it above the flair.
- Then I wound some of the pink twine from the kit around the flair and flower, then under the beautiful tag and over to the other side of the page with a few loops, and adhered to page with glue and tiny attacher.
- Last of all I cut up some left over white cardstock into thin strips to write my journalling on and attached them with foam tape.
- and I added the kraft banner with heart cut out onto the right hand side of the photos, and the birdie paper clip onto the top right of the photos.

I hope this has inspired you to get creative!

Project Life Week 13 - Including Easter Weekend

This is a HUGE week of Project Life.. Its the extra inserts that make it huge!
This is a photo heavy post, get yourself a cuppa and read along. Don't say I didn't warn you hehe

Again, excuse the glare on some photos. I missed the good sunlight today and had to make do with a setting sun coming through trees from the front door step.
This is the layout without all the layers of inserts.. It doesn't exactly flow together well without the inserts, but that was the idea. Each side is a different part of the week so each tells a different story. Ive used the Maggie Holmes collection kit, embellishments and thickers plus extra bits from stash.

This is the Entire week with inserts added.. Just a few

Left Hand side was the first half of the week,
Its mainly focused on Leilas crazy faces, plus a layout I made for her and our catch up with Miss Charlie.. Love those gold glitter thickers!

Im going to skip right onto the inserts before I go back to the right hand side
This insert is for Good Friday and Easter Saturday
Friday - I made Leila some homemade puffy paint via a tutorial on Pinterest so we headed outdoors to test it out.

Saturday - Mum and I went out for lunch with family and took Leila with us, who was in desperate need of a new pair of tights! Lost count of the number of times we had to pull them back up. Later that night Clinton and I were able to head into hospital to meet our new nephew. So CUTE!

The next insert is a bit of memorabilia

I kept the kids menu from our lunch that I had hoped Leila would colour at home that night, didn't happen. On the reverse of that pocket I added our very first rates notice from Geelong Council.. We haven't even started building on our land and already were getting bills! This one was no charge though :)

Easter Sunday Insert.
I probably could have made up a mini album for this weekend as I have so many photos. But I thought it was best to add them all into a design F pocket so they are all together with the weeks insert. Stamps are from the Happy Easter set made by Kellie

Easter heading pocket is made up of elements from a Maggie Holmes mini album pack. Love the look of confetti pockets!

Ombre Thickers are awesome!! Loving these pink ones that I managed to score from a friend online. Also loving those Studio Calico kraft & vellum frames.

Not the best photo. All cards on this side are from the Life cards Easter set by Lori Whitlock
Cherry Flair is from A Piece of Cake Designs. SO CUTE! Letter stickers are from October Afternoon.

Right hand side was the weekend of Easter when we met our new little nephew/cousin. Stamps Ive used on this page are from Kellie at Give a girl a.. . They are part of the TODAY stamp set that was released last month. The days of the week are from the Yesterday set.

Close up of the title card.
Close up of the journalling for the Long weekend. Stamps by Kellie
Ive stamped and written onto the vellum pieces and stapled straight to the photos.

If you have made it to the end Thank you. I hope you have enjoyed checking out my week 13.. Coming soon - Week 15..

Project Life Week 14

I went back to basics with this week to get it done! Im slowly catching up bit by bit..

For this week I have used Seafoam title and journalling cards as the base with minimal embellishments
I quite like this new simple look. Note entirely happy with the design B page layout, but its done and now I can move on to the following week.

The left hand side features the weekly title card. The 'documented' card was made by Kellie as part of a card swap we both participated in. I added some washi tape and thickers and then stamped the days of the week with my favourite roller date stamp. The arrow and star stamps on the cards in the middle of the layout are part of the You are the Best stamp set over at Give a Girl a...

On the right hand side I have used parts of journalling cards from the Seafoam Core Kit to add extra interest to the photos along the top. The black tape is from my Smash labeller. Quote in the middle of the page about going offline is something I would love to do one day... Just can't seem to switch off as yet. Last of all the journalling card bottom left was made by me as part of the card swap I participated in  with Kellie.

Think this may be the way I keep going if I need to catch up again.
Check back later in the week to see my week 13 (yes going back a week but its a good one)

For now head on over to Life Paper Scrapbook to check out the give-away thats happening as part of Project Life Week..

Project Life Introduction (re post from LPS Blog)

I thought I would share the post that I wrote up for Life Paper Scrapbook as part of Project Life Week

First of all.. Hello My name is Michelle and I'm addicted to Project Life! I cant keep up with how many different projects I have started with this system, but it has changed my life! And today I am here to give a little run down of the concept. What it is, How it works, and the different styles you can play around with.

So for those of you who aren't familiar with this system Project life is part of the pocket page scrapbooking trend. Created by Becky Higgins, this solution-based approach to scrapbooking allows you more time to enjoy life due to its simplified process.

If used in its basic form it can be a very cost and time effective way of getting memories into scrapbooks, without the need for scissors and glue. BUT it can also be your creative outlet. You can add embellishments, patterned papers, stamping, paints, thickers, washi tape, sewing, staples.. The list of added extras goes on and on depending on your style.

So whether you're a veteran scrapbooker wanting a change in style, or a beginner wanting to make your photo albums look more prettier, or even a digital scrapbooker.. YOU can use this system!

If you are just starting out NOT TO WORRY!!
All you need to complete an album full of memories is a Core Kit, a 3 ring Album of your choice, a Big pack of Page protectors, your printed photos and a Pen for journalling.

To learn more about Project Life check out this video. All product details can be found HERE

If you are based in Australia and would like to start Project Life and need supplies Craft House have the entire range of products available HERE with new release products on their way!
(Craft House are based in NZ, Shipping is included in the product price and will be sent via DHL couriers. Super fast service!!)

And now for the photos. I thought I would give you an example of a few of the different ways you can tackle this system. There are so many more options out there so these are just a few.

Core Kit Only
This was a page from my first year of Project Life. Back then there wasn't any choice in extra products, and I wasn't as good at taking photos of layouts lol. But it shows that all you need is photos and cards from the kit.

Embellishments with Core Kit or other Paper products
This is a page I made back in February (its a favourite of mine) and shows my current style of Project Life as seen over on my Blog. I like to use the cards from the Core kit as a base then add embellishments from my stash to finish it off. Some weeks I may use a collection kit of papers/embellishments or a ready made scrapbook kit from one of the many kit companies. It all depends on what I feel like that week.

White Base cards with Stamping and minimal embellishments
This is a layout made by Kellie Winnell. I LOVE how simple it is, and how the photos stand out so much better with a plain bright white background. How cool are her stamps!!

Printed Digital pages in Pocket page protectors
Created by Louise Beerens - Part of our Creative team. Love the mix of digital with some added embellishments prior to adding into the page protectors.

Digital Pages to be printed in Photobook form
Anne-Marie Cox does an amazing job with her digital layouts! I am in awe of ladies that can whip these up in no time!

Photos Only - No product
Check out Pink Ronnie - Rhonda is part of Becky's Creative team and uses only photos and text for her album. Amazing!

Smaller album size (Mini Album)
Petra Corcoran is also part of Becky's Creative team and has a blog post over HERE to show how you can incorporate Project Life into a smaller album. Perfect size for Travel, celebrations, birthdays and kids.

That was a long post, but full of ideas that I hope will help you on starting out or continuing on your Project Life journey. Thank you for joining me today, and staying to the very end.

May Sketch Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

This months Sketch challenge for Life Paper Scrapbook took me no more than half an hour to whip up! I had an idea in my head of what photos and products I would use, and it all came together so easy.
This is the sketch..

And this is what I created..

I started with a base of flat white card stock, trimmed down to 8.5x11, a piece of vellum that was sent from a friend and a scrap of brown paper that I had used earlier last week as a table cover when I was misting some cards for a Project Life Card swap. Add in some chipboard letters, black smash tape and loads of stamping with Give a Girl a stamps and I was done!
(Can I just say how hard it was to photograph this layout lol The sun is either completely out and creating shadows, or its missing from the sky!)

A close up of the tags on the right using the banner stamps from the 'You are the Best' stamp set

And the arrows and stars, also from the same set

Love how it all came together so quickly!
