Hello magical SEVEN | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Scrappy Friends! I'm back here today with a new layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio featuring the BRAND NEW and seriously STUNNING collection - More than Words. Oh my HECK this collection is so so beautiful that it needs ALL the heart eye emojis one could possibly use lol

When I first saw this collection online I was IN LOVE. The patterns, the colours, all just pure magic! In person its even better, and I knew I needed to try and use them all within one layout. Challenge accepted once I took the 6x6 paper pad out of the box, pure heaven! Perfect colours for scrapbooking Leila, especially documenting this special moment - her 7th birthday.

I went a little crazy and chopped up tonnes of tiny little strips with the intention of weaving them all together in some way, similar to a layout that I created back in 2014. However I really wanted the patterns and colours to stand out rather than mix together so I ended up laying them all out randomly in a vertical line and weaved just a few to the right of where the photo is

I layered a couple of pattern papers from the 12x12 cut apart paper COLLAGE along with a frame from the ephemera pack and the photo, printed in 3x4inch size so that it didn't cover up too much of the pretty paper strips. I then created a couple of clusters around the photo by tucking in pieces of ephemera from the Die cut pack and the vellum pack, plus a couple of extras from the stickers sheet, the chipboard heart and an enamel heart. I then created a mini cluster of similar items at the top of the layout, including some machine stitching for added detail.

Next I created a mixed element title using the 'Hello' chipboard sticker, "magical" accessory sticker and alphas from the Endless Summer collection. To finish off this area I tucked in a date tab, floral ephemera piece, enamel dots and some machine stitching.

Then lastly this little area of weaved paper goodness, created to balance out the other side of the layout and bring it all together. I've used some of the left over paper strips, an accessory sticker, die cut ephemera pieces, vellum butterfly, a chipboard heart, a couple more of those precious little enamel dots and machine stitching. As a final touch to the layout I added a sprinkling of gold ink.

Well thats it from me today, I hope you've found this inspiring. It's definitely kickstarted my creative juices!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Creative Cards | D-lish Scraps

Hello Scrappy Friends! I'm back with a new creative share for D-lish Scraps, the first in over a month while I've been off on 'Sick leave'. It's taken me a while to get back in to the swing of creating, so I thought what better way to ease into it than making some cards. These are quite easy to replicate with any pieces that you may have within you own personal D-lish stashes 😍 All cards are perfect for gifting along to a friend just to say Hello, something I need to do more often to remind those I cherish that they are loved.

The first 2 cards are super simple, gathering Creative cuts and faceted enamel dots from the D-lish Scraps store along with a lace butterfly, some ombre wordfetti and left over pieces of pattern paper from the Bohemian Dream collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

So quick to create, and such a sweet card to pass along to a friend to remind them to smile  😀

This card was also quick to create by gluing and stapling the pieces together with slight hints of dimension.

The next 2 cards were a little more fiddly, made using bits and pieces from last months Papercrafters Advent Calendar . Such a fun box of goodies that was for this crafter to open, although I only got to open half the month before being admitted to hospital with gallbladder issues. That meant I had to rip the remainder open all at once which was both a happy and sad experience as I knew how much effort went into packing all those bags and to not be able to enjoy opening them as they were intended was a bummer.

For the larger card I've started with a pattern paper from the new More than Words collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I felt the colours of the floral pattern really complimented the colours of embellishments within the Advent Calendar goodies. I made one massive cluster using the large pink and green flowers, the pretty pink leaves, flair button, yellow tassel, journal it and a carnation from my stash. I cut apart the XOXO cut file piece and secured these in separate places and finished it off with some enamel dots.

Lastly this pretty card, such a happy little thing! I started with some pink cardstock layered with a 4 inch doily from my stash. I pulled the entire centre out of the yellow flower and rearranged it to sit flatter with a flair button in the centre. I tucked in a couple of the pink leaves and some resin flowers then finished it off with some sequins.

Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Creative Cards | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone, I'm back today with a super quick creative share. I'm still taking it easy since my gallbladder surgery last month, and haven't really spent much time in my craft room, so I thought what better way to ease back into it than with a couple of cards. Super simple and quite easy to replicate using pieces from the beautiful Bohemian Dream collection.

The first card I made using some offcuts of the 6x6 Paper pad cut into banner flags, 'strung' along the top of the card and stitched in place.

I used the paint smear stamp from the set in the collection and some yellow ink under the 'shine bright' sticker and layered another sticker above it to create a sweet sentiment for the recipient.

To finish the card I added a leaf from the ephemera pack and some enamel dots for a little extra pop of colour.

Second card was another super simple one but my favourite by far. I used a piece of the beautiful floral print ABUNDANT from the 6x6 paper pad behind some white cardstock, then a strip of GYPSY HEART under the chipboard word HAPPY from the collection.

I added in the word birthday with alphas from the Make a Wish collection as nothing else looked as good. Lastly I tucked in a couple of the leaf pieces from the ephemera pack, some hand writing to finish off the card and some machine stitching to hold it all in place.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to check in daily for more inspiration from the other Design team members.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

2017 Favourites | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi Everyone, I'm back here to finish the month off with a quick post about my favourite layouts created in 2017 for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I've created a tonne of layouts with CVS products for both this design team and the others that I'm on, so it was extremely hard to narrow down the favourites. I really thought this post would be filled with florals and pretty feminine colours, but surprisingly from the 5 I chose, 3 of them are featuring the You Rock collection!

First up is this fun creation "Owlette & Batbear" featuring the You Rock collection. Inspired by the stars from the collection and the colours of the photos, this collection truly made this memory shine. While Leila has moved on from being obsessed with PJ Masks to loving all things Mario and Luigi, I'm so glad this moment was captured and recorded. This child of ours completely embraces all kinds fun and imaginative play from the moment she wakes and all day through. ORIGINAL POST HERE

Next up is one of my favourites created with the Make a Wish collection "Hip Hip Hooray". This collection was and is still by far my most favourite collection, although Bohemian Dream is pretty much equal to it. The floral designs and the sweet colour palette are perfect for documenting all things feminine and girly, especially a Birthday Celebration. Teamed with a large floral cut file from the Colour Me Happy collection and lace doily from my stash and we have a match made in heaven (well for me anyway) ORIGINAL POST HERE

Now this creation "Star of the Week" is definitely one of my all time favourites, a scrap lift of a layout made by Missy earlier in the year. Another layout using the You Rock collection, perfect for scrapping School photos, and documenting the very first award Leila received at school. This was such a fun layout to create, especially when it involved scrap lifting a long time scrappy Idol of mine ;) ORIGINAL POST HERE

Almost to the end of the post, and were up to "One of a Kind" that I created more recently using the Bohemian Dream Collection. I couldn't not share this layout as a favourite! The colours and designs within the collection are absolutely stunning, so much so that I couldn't help but use almost all of it on one layout! I created a grid using the 6x6 paper pad (the smaller scale designs are perfect for grid work) and grouped a few of my favourites from the ephemera pack to finish it off. ORIGINAL POST HERE

Lastly a fun layout using more of the You Rock collection and a silly photo of my nephew. It was so nice to create something more masculine, and to record a special little moment shared with this little cutie. "Hello Mister Rad" was one of the quickest layouts created to date, surprisingly it all just came together without much thought so I should definitely try and do it more often! ORIGINAL POST HERE

Well thats all from me today, Thank you all so much for stopping by to check out my favourites. Another big THANK YOU to you all for your continued support throughout the year, I can't wait to get back to scrapping and sharing again in the new year!

Until then, Happy Holidays and Happy Scrapping!

Unforgettable FUN | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello Hello! I'm back here with a fun new layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio as part of our Scrap Christmas without a Christmas collection theme. This was a fun challenge to create with and I really enjoyed dipping back into some of the older collections.

You might also notice that I've gone down a size with my layout for today. Partly inspired by Raquel's inspiring 8.5x11 creations but mainly due to having tiny xmas photos printed for a previous project that I didn't want to go to waste, but also didn't to lose on a larger 12x12 layout.

I've gone with a crazy star theme by creating some strands of stars hanging from the top of the layout. These were fussy cut from the ROCK STAR paper in the Made of Awesome collection and I added a couple of larger sticker stars from the Accessory sheets in the same collection and also the Hello Sunshine collection. I completed the layout with the photo, a doily from my stash and some stickers all grouped together towards the bottom and the addition of some typed journalling. I really enjoyed how quickly this all came together once I finished fussy cutting lol

I backed the entire layout with some of the STAR SPANGLED paper from the Colour Me Happy collection. You see I'm a little obsessed with the star shapes and really did go a little crazy with them on this layout LOL

Here's a close up of the photo and title cluster, I've used a cut apart card from the MIXED UP paper in the Made of Awesome collection underneath the photo. The enamel dots I've used all over the layout are from the Make a Wish collection, and Colour Me Happy.

And lastly a quick couple of typed lines talking about Christmas morning last year. Her smile definitely lit up the room she was that excited and happy! Cannot wait to see her reactions this year.
Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping xx

All kinds of CRAZY | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone, I'm back here today with a closer look at my Inspiration Board layout for D-lish Scraps. This was definitely a challenge and one that I had to re-do multiple times as it just didn't look quite right. The board we've shared this month was super inspiring and I just couldn't work out the right mix of elements until I came up with this creation...

This child of mine is a total crack up! Loves to dress up in such wonderful outfits, more recently being her mermaid costume with a sparkly wig and McHappy Day socks HAHA The photo itself was the perfect combination of colours to compliment the colour palette within the board, but proved to be a real tricky one to create around.

Heres another look at the board

I took my main inspiration from the sketch which I've rotated to the left, the bunches of flowers and the circular elements in the middle right hand side. I did try to attempt loads of circles with this layout rather than the strips of pattern papers, but man oh man was it a bad combination HAHA

Heres some close ups

Loving these Canvas pick n place bows, they've got a nice sturdy texture to them with the slightest hint of shimmery sparkle to them, perfect for layering into clusters. I've punched circles from an Amy Tangerine collection to use around the layout, and added machine stitching for added texture. Also in this cluster is a Little Birdie beaded micro petal flower and resin glitter dot

Under the photo I've added some white cardstock and ran some of the thin washi tape from the Hello Sugar JAP kit around the edges. I've layered these with a doily and tucked in pieces of Journal its that I've been hoarding for so long, and some Ombre wordfetti.

That face HAHA
To the right of the photo I've added another punched circle, a flair button and ombre wordfetti piece.

In the main cluster I've grouped a mix of new and older flowers from the D-lish store plus more Little birdie flowers, some coloured leaves, a floral creative cutombre wordfetti piece and another resin glitter dot.

Heres a different angle to see the dimension all these pretty bits give to the layout.

I've continued the circle elements over on the right hand side and included another resin glitter dot, Little birdie flowerombre wordfetti and an enamel heart.

And lastly a mixed element title using thickers and stickers from my stash to finish it all off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to share your own creations with us over on the link up tool on the main D-lish blog, or within the Scrap Suite Facebook group. We love to see them!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping

Christmas Memories | Scrap the Girls

Hello! It's that wonderful time of the year when we get to start sharing Christmas theme creations! Todays post is for Scrap the Girls and the awesome new Mood Board that was shared yesterday.

Heres a look at what I've created, looking back at 3 years of Christmas Memories - the first 3 special years of Christmas for Leila.

The main part of the board that I was drawn to would be the rustic looking advent calendar top right. I've replicated this look by creating something similar using 3 strands of textured twine on a woodgrain pattern paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and pegged multiple photos together with some pattern papers by Heidi Swapp and my favourite mini lace doilies. I've hidden the journalling behind the 2 lots of grouped photos and embellished with items from the D-lish Scraps store that worked with the kraft, white, black, gold & pops of red theme I was creating.

The first photo top left is from Leila's very first Christmas at only 16 days old. There was a lot of sleeping, and loads of cuddles for everyone this christmas, so special.

To create this corner I've used some pattern paper, and a couple of kraft journal its from D-lish Scraps  to create mixed layers under the photo, then embellished with some creative cuts, mini lace doily, faceted enamel dots, wood buttons and a peg that are also from D-lish Scraps.

Over on the right I've used a couple of photos from Leila's second Christmas, one including my Grandma/Leila's Great Grandma. This was the first year that Leila was able to enjoy the festivities we were part of, and she most definitely took centre stage in her super cute little baby Santa suit.

I layered the 2 photos with some more of the red and black pattern papers a lace doily and a creative cut script word from D-lish on top. I also tucked some hidden journalling in with a creative cut underneath that can easily be pulled out to read, and pegged a kraft journal it to the top.

Here's a close up of the journalling about this year, and of the small title I created at the bottom of the layout.

The third area of the layout includes 2 photos from Leila's 3rd Christmas, the year Leila recognised Santa and was not so happy to see him. I've repeated the same items from the other 2 areas of the layout, but using them in a different way. This time the journalling is hidden within a card behind the photo of Leila and I.

This was the year Leila really enjoyed, apart from Santa lol I added another creative cut to this section that can only be seen in full when the journal card is open.

We've come to the end of the post, thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope this layout has inspired you in some way, and that you are able to find some time within this crazy busy month to pay along with us all. Be sure to head over to the main Scrap the Girls post to see what the remainder of the team have created, and to upload your own personal creations.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
