Hello hello! I'm back today with a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio inspired by my previous crafty share. I've used the Exclusive collection we received at retreat back in May to document a funny photo of Leila in yet another crazy outfit.
I felt the choice of using both this photo and the exclusive collection together would work wonders, especially with the Flamingo quote. The colours in the collection worked so well with the colours of the dress Leila is wearing (on top of her trackies and finished off with some sparkly shoes)
To create the layout I used one main strip of the black and white paper vertically down the page, then a large banner of woodgrain paper over the top.
Next I layered the photo with some tropical print paper, the flamingo quote and a doily over the top of the large pieces of paper. The expression on her face is hilarious! Such a 'tough' girl HAHA
I tucked in a few pieces from the ephemera sheet in the collection kit, and some enamel shapes from past collections
Lastly a word sticker and some black ink splatters and I was done. Such a super quick layout to create and I'm really happy with the outcome. Another crazy outfit photo documented!
Thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by.
Until next time, happy scrapping,
Michelle x
Hello hello! It's Michelle back today with a new creative share as part of the Make it mini theme were currently showcasing. I've used the super cool Boys Rule collection to create a few fun pages in a pocket page notebook documenting Leila's many wacky outfits. You see this child of mine is so obsessed with crazy outfits and funny faces that all the photos I've taken over time needed to be documented in one place. This notebook is a work in progress, one of which that will keep us entertained for years to come.
I created a simple title for the cover of the notebook using a few strips of pattern paper from the FUN & GAMES paper, die cut pieces from the ephemera packs and some glitter alphas from my stash. I sewed through the letters to keep them adhered for years to come as they were starting to lose their stickiness.
On the inside of the cover I've attached a label from the Miscellany ephemera pack to note when it was made. On the first page a mixed title stating what the notebook is for using a fussy cut title (ENTITLED paper) and handwriting. I sewed through "the Best" for a little extra detail and then embellished the page with die cut pieces and a clear sticker along the bottom.
As you turn into the second page of the notebook you come across Leila's all time FAVOURITE 'dress up' characters Mario & Luigi. She does have proper costumes for these characters, but when they're in the wash (from over wearing lol) she does a great job to improvise using school t-shirts, a pair of jeans and some overalls HAHA.
To document these photos I've added a few ephemera pieces on top of a large piece of STAR FALL paper, a clear sticker stuck to cardstock then fussy cut (You're the best) and then created a shaker style pocket and sewed the top to make sure the pretty sequins didn't escape.
Here's a close up of the journalling
Next up is Leila's second favourite dress up item - funny head attire. These were taken a few weeks back at an in store promo photo booth set up. She really hates posing for the camera HAHA
I used pieces of the MESSED UP paper on either side of the notebook along with some die cut ephemera (my favourite embellishments from every collection) and a clear sticker, the best addition to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio embellishments range.
Love me some tiny staples! The best way to attach bits n bobs to any page.
Lastly a simple page using big pieces of the ENTITLED & MESSED UP papers, a few die cut ephemera pieces and more machine stitching. This one documents her love for wacky outdoor attire. PJS and a Tutu - perfect for helping Dad in the backyard HA
Well thats all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my 'mini' creation. I've had fun getting this little notebook started and already have a stack of mini photos to continue on filling up the pages and pockets. Can't wait to share more!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!Michelle x
