I am extremely happy with how well I'm keeping up and staying on track this year (yes I know it's only 3 weeks in). The only problem I'm having is remembering to take photos and blog about it on a weekly basis.
This week I'm sharing the last 2 weeks of layouts. Super happy with how they turned out! And I thought I'd give more of an insight into what the photos are about :)
For week 2 I have used a
mini kit from Jodie at
Polka Dot Creative, featuring a handmade confetti pocket made by Jodie herself. LOVE IT!! The papers are from the Darling Dear and Yearbook collections by Studio Calico. So cute!
In this layout you can see I am sticking to my different pockets each week idea. I have the design B on the right with the design A. Both designs work well together.
Left hand side up close. You can see the back of the confetti pocket I made in the page protector from last week. I added a
wood veneer from the PDC mini kit and a piece of washi tape to finish off this side. Only wish I had adhered another arrow to the back of the one in the confetti pocket.
Along the middle row I have used another calendar from
In a creative bubble, I am planning on using these every week rather than filling up an entire 4x6 pocket like last year as a header card. More space for bigger photos!
During this week
Becky Higgins announced so many new designs of Project Life, I cannot wait to see them all in the flesh. I have a few favourites and must haves!
I started getting more of Leila's baby album completed. Mainly just photos and cards in pockets, no journalling as yet.
Yay for 100 followers on pinterest..
Bottom row is a drawing by Leila of a star (pretty good for a 2 year old) embellished with a
Cherry Flair from A Piece of Cake Designs and a Kraft speech bubble from
Documenting Chaos (part of the PDC mini Kit) and the last photo is my creative chaos from the week before when gettin crafty with week 1
(For privacy reasons I have covered up the top right pocket. This was a 4x6 photo of an email conversation)
Right hand side .. This week had a few super hot days in the high 30's to mid 40's YUCK! Leila found a new way to play with her truck, we payed a visit to some friends for a play date, Leila found a new bed time toy (spoons), I finally cleaned up my messy craft table, and the
Project Life mini kits arrived on my doorstep!! Yay
Most of products used here are from the PDC mini kit. The aqua spotted washi, the cobalt kit journal card and mini letters are from my stash and worked with the kit real well.
Now onto WEEK 3...
I used a collection kit from
Echo Park Paper co. -
Everyday Eclectic. Love the colours, the Kraft and the embellishment stickers/letters that come in this pack. Had a lot of fun setting it up that I didn't want to add photos at all!!
How pretty do all the papers look together. This is how I generally set out my week if I want to use an entire collection before I print the photos. Other weeks I print the photos then add the paper.
But as you can see below I gave in and made it into a gorgeous layout. Might have to use this range again :)
This past week has been a busy one! I am still yet to finish the inserts (using a design e chopped in half) Parcels of scrapping goodness arrived from
Polka Dot Creative and
Give a girl a... We had a few more hot days, I got lots of photos printed while Leila slept or entertained herself while I scrapped up on the expedit in the lounge. Thought I needed to take more photos, but by the end of the week I had too many! Over the weekend Leila had a playdate with her cousins Bailey and Lachlan. I went to a 30th then spent a lovely few hours in Melbourne talking Project life with 6 of the loveliest ladies that are part of the
Project Life Australia group.
Design B was perfect for the card I received from
Kellie over at Give a girl a.. As part of a kit swap we did. It worked in well with the colours of the collection. I tried not to use many other embellishments other than what was in the kit, however I had to add a
cherry flair or 2 from Raquel at
A piece of cake designs. The frames are from Heidi Swapp (large) and Studio Calico (small). The silver glitter tape (my absolute favourite stash item right now!!) is from Typo and I'm running short again, but they no longer stock it. Must find a decent replacement as I can see this featuring a lot this year.
The back of the confetti pocket from week 2's PDC mini kit also worked in well with this collection, which is fantastic as those who know me, know I love confetti!
Love the little arrows, cameras and banner notes from this collection kit. They finish things off nicely.
To finish off this weeks photos of my new friends I have used a couple more Cherry flairs from APOCD, another frame from and a disco star from Heidi Swapp, a Kraft sack from
Greatest View to hold receipts from the day out in Melbourne and embellishments from the Echo Park Everyday Eclectic collection kit. Oh and another calendar from
In a Creative Bubble.
Love how this week has turned out. Hope you all do to x
Now back to cultivating that good life of mine :)
Project Life is a concept designed by Becky Higgins. It is a range that works anyway you want it to. You don't have to embellish your layouts or use any extra products like I do. You can easily record an album full of memories with just a Core Kit, bulk pack of page protectors and a 12x12 Album. I purchase all my core products from Craft House - Exclusive stockist for Australia and New Zealand.
