Mini Countertop Wastebasket/ Trash Can from Lotsa Style Shop

Hi friends and welcome back. Today I have a little something different to share than I normally would here on this little scrappy blog of mine, a crafty DIY.

The generous people over at Lotsa Style shop recently gifted me a Mini Countertop Wastebasket Trash Can to pretty up and add to my craft desk. I was so excited to receive the parcel and get to work adding my own crafty touch to it.

They're the perfect size to add to a crafty space, and they have SO MANY other uses than just for trash. You should check them out on Instagram @lotsastyle_shop and follow their ## #lotsastyle #lotsatrashcan to see all the different ways others are using and decorating them.

Heres a look at a few of the items I used, along with my trusty Silhouette Cameo and Hot glue gun (because I don't own any vinyl yet 😭)

I chose a fun cut file from the silhouette store, some POW! glitter paper from American Crafts in the Fuchsia colour, sweet florals from Cocoa Vanilla Studio (a much older collection - Make a Wish) and some extras not shown above from my stash that I've hoarded since my time on the D-lish Scraps team.

And Ta Da.. The final product. Not bad for a few minutes of gluing! SO cute and co-ordinates perfectly with other floral elements I've created in the past that adorn the counters and spaces in my craft room. Perfect size to contain all the scraps when crafting and doesn't overwhelm the area like some other Countertop bins can.

And now the best part for you all Lotsa Style Shop have generously offered a 30% off code for all my followers. If you want your own Mini Countertop Wastebasket Trash Can head to the store now and enter the code SHELZ30 to save 30%. And don't forget to share how you style yours on Instagram using the #lotsatrashcan and #lotsastyle and tag them @lotsastyle_shop

HIP KIT CLUB | Weekly Challenge | Life Is

Hello Hello! I'm here today to share a layout I've made for a recent  HKC Group Challenge. We were challenged to use the colors Blue, Green, Yellow and Orange. I may have also snuck in a pop of pink here and there as I just cant help myself! I created the page using a mix of products from the MARCH 2020 kits and I'm so happy to have finally found a place to use that cute little hedgehog with the massive bunch of flowers.

I started by layering together different pattern papers and pieces from the 'Daily Dose' cut apart sheet to create 2 mixed banner stacks. I used my trusty knock out punch to add detail to the bottom layers of paper, giving them a torn out notebook feel. I used the 'Life is Sunshine & Rainbows' card for the main title of the layout, and a couple of sweet sentiments tucked in here and there instead of journalling

I adhered strips of complimentary pattern papers to the bottom of the paper then looped some twine across the layout before adhering the paper stacks to make them look like they're hanging up. I also added a couple of the fabric bows, some floral stickers and that cute hedgehog into the layers. These can all be found in the March 2020 Embellishment kit.

Lastly I added a little machine stitching, some puffy dot stickers plus a splattering of gold ink and I felt it was complete.

Be sure to pop into the Hip Kit Club Group to see some more inspiration using these colors from other members of the Design Team and to play along for your chance to win a weekly voucher

Happy Scrapping!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Unbelievable, RANDOM, Legendary

Hello Hello! I'm back again today with a new layout to share with you all for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I've chosen to feature the wonderful Legendary Collection for this layout and share how it can be used to document the moments in our girls lives that don't necessarily need all the pretty feminine florals or hearts. I've based this layout on a running theme I have for Leila that documents all her favourite things each year. I started this back in 2016 and have created a layout each year focusing on the same topic and keeping to the same basic grid design.

This year I changed up the type of collection and used the fun Legendary collection rather than the feminine styles from the past, the layout on the right covered in florals is last years creation. I find that keeping a similar design for this theme had helped to get the topic documented quickly, but also will be easy to find each individual layout to reminisce in years to come.

I started the layout by writing out the list of favourites and adhering the notepaper to the dark woodgrain paper OUTDOORS TYPE . I chose to use a photo of Leila in her finest PJ attire playing the switch and adhered this to the map paper which is the reverse of the OUTDOORS TYPE paper .  Next I chose an assortment of complimentary patterns to create the grid design in the background. A mix of WILD ONE, OFF BEAT, BRAVE HEART, TOTAL LEGEND, EXPLORER and EPIC TALES which are all adhered with double sided tape and machine stitched for a little extra detail.

Once the grid of pattern papers were adhered and stitched I added the photo and list to the centre of the layout. These are raised slightly off the background using foam sheeting for that slight pop of dimension.

I added a cardstock title piece and stickers to the top of the notepaper list to create the title, with the addition of some ephemera stars and flair button to fill the blank space.

I added some random banner and tab stickers to the top and right of the photo.

I kept the embellishment clusters pretty simple in the top left and bottom right of the layout. The pieces used can be found in the ephemera pack.

and lastly some accessory word stickers to the top right and bottom left pattern papers and a good splattering of gold colour shine to the entire layout.

Well friends thats all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to check in with us regularly over in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio facebook group to talk and share all things CVS!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

CUT to YOU | HOME

Hi Friends, today I have a new layout to share with you all fro CUT to YOU. I chose to document a funny family photo for this creation to features one of the 'Special Edition' designs released as part of the NEW Home Bodies release. Its an interesting time world-wide right now, and were taking each day as it comes in our little house.

The Home Grid cut file is perfect for filling up an entire 12x12 layout, and those cut little houses! I had a hard time working out which pattern paper I wanted to back them all with.

I resized the design in silhouette studio to approx 11.5 inch square and cut it out on white cardstock. I then chose a couple of different pattern papers from the Bloom Street collection to back the different elements. Dark floral for the letters, ombre hearts on pink for the 'O' heart, multi colour hearts for the house's, diagonal stripe paper for the house roof and the blue tartan style design for the chimney.

I've added some vellum to each area of the grid that had an element to fill in with pattern paper, then adhered the cut file piece to another piece of cardstock using foam tape for a slight hint of dimension. This entire piece was then adhered to a 12x12 piece of the dark / bright florals from the same collection.

I kept the layers behind our fun family photo to a minimum as there was already so much colour going on in the background. I chose elements that co-ordinated with the dark floral paper

Along the top right of the cut file Ive added a cluster of elements that sit slightly over one of the little houses

Diagonally across the page along the bottom edge I've added similar elements to the top cluster to tie it all together.

Well friends thats all from me today. I hope this post has found you safe and well. Be sure to check out the other cut file designs that are part of this collection. You can find them HERE. Also don't forget to share all things CUT to YOU within the CTY HQ group on Facebook

Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Sweet Easter

Hello Hello I'm back today with my first layout share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio this month. I hope this post finds you safe and well during the Easter break. This weekend is looking a little different, and a lot quieter than previous years so I thought what better way to brighten it up than to create something Easter related using the cheerful HAPPINESS Collection. Full of wonderful happy colours to brighten our moods.

I chose a sweet cut file from CUT to YOU, a basket thats full of eggs reminiscent of most Easter mornings after the big fluffy bunny has been and left a wonderful mess. As Leila is getting older this may be on of the last years in our house that we can share in the joy of the Easter Bunny with her. Lets hope we get at least one more..

I started my creative process by cutting the design out a few different ways. First was the basket using the woodgrain pattern on the BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL paper. I've cut both the detailed design of the basket and also the backing piece using the same paper to replicate the look of a real basket. Next I cut the eggs multiple times so that I could individually back them with pattern paper then layer them together in the basket at different heights. If only Easter eggs looked this good!

This layout documents one of many fond memories - the excitement and sheer concentration of opening all the hunting eggs to see whats inside. I layered 2 photos together, both backed with a piece of EXPRESSIVE paper with some fussy cut florals layered to the right.

I used the SPRINKLES paper that reminds me of confetti for the bow on top of the basket, along with a lighter hint of pink from the MEADOW paper. The eggs are backed using MEADOW, LITTLE THINGS, GOOD VIBES, SO FRESH and EXPRESSIVE.

I fussy cut butterflies from both the 12x12 and 6x8 versions of BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL along with a floral cluster from the SO FRESH wreath to layer along the edge of the basket rim. I also tucked in a couple of leaf strands and stapled tiny hearts to the eggs from the EPHEMERA pack.

The title is made up of a CARDSTOCK TITLE word and alphabet letters from older collections.

Theres a few more tiny fussy cut flowers scattered here and there from both the MEADOW paper and 6x8 version of BOTANICAL BLISS and a good splattering of gold colour shine to finish it off. Once the ink was dry I trimmed the edges of the white cardstock and adhered the layout to a 12x12 piece of BOTANICAL BLISS to bring all the colours together.

Well friends thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Easter themed share this weekend. Be sure to pop in to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community group on facebook to share all your crafty ventures with us over the Easter long weekend. We do love seeing what you all create using CVS products.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping, enjoy the chocolate and stay safe

HIP KIT CLUB | March Mood Board | Create Your Own Magic

Hello friends! I'm so excited to be here today to sharing a layout for HIP KIT CLUB thats inspired by the March Mood Board. I've used the March 2020 Hip kits which are jam packed full of Pink Paislee and Pebbles GOODNESS!!! Oh and also a sweet Heart cut file from the January 2020 Subscriber release.

I was inspired by 1 part of the board in particular - a quote that says "Make your own magic" (bottom right). I drew inspiration from the colours on the quote piece and the words themselves and came up with the layout below. I'll share a pic of the board along with some close ups in the comments below.

To create the layout I've gathered the Hey Hello 'Birdies' paper for the background, 'Daily Dose' 'Blues' and 'Paper 06' for the layers and the 'Rainbows' paper for the cut file piece. For the embellishments I used the Hey Hello Ephemera and Prima crystals from the Main Kit. I also dipped into the Embellishment kit and used the Pebbles Hey Hello Stickerbook and Cardstock stickers, plus the Crate Paper fabric bows.

I've added texture to select parts of the layout using machine stitching, and dimension under all the layers using foam tape - my go to adhesive. Theres also a splattering of gold colour shine, my only attempt at anything messy HAHA

If you have any questions about my layout please feel free to ask them below. Be sure to add a Hip Kit Club subscription to your Easter wish list if you're not already a member. These kits are so fun to play with and are jam packed full of inspiration!
