Cocoa Vanilla Studio | BONUS LAYOUT | Our Incredible KID

Hello Hello! I'm back again with a BONUS LAYOUT share for Cocoa Vanilla Studio because I couldn't end the month without sharing one more layout using the awesome Legendary Collection! This one was so fun to create, I even enjoyed all that intricate fussy cutting

I started with 2 pieces of the amazing aztec mandala inspired pattern paper - EXPLORER. I fussy cut the outer ring and inner star (which ended up being covered up) from one piece of the pattern paper, then on the second piece I cut only the middle section of triangles on 2 sides so that they would pop up. I then sandwiched it all together with some white cardstock as per below

Bottom layer - cardstock

2nd layer - full pattern paper piece with only the triangles cut in the middle ring and popped up using raised glue dots

Top layer - outer ring and inner star shape adhered with foam tape

Next I worked on the photo and journalling in the centre of the layout. For this I used a piece of the reverse EXPLORERpaper combined with a frame from the EPHEMERA PACK, and cards cut from the TOTAL LEGEND & EPIC TALES cut apart papers. These are layered together with the photo and adhered to the layout using foam tape.

I created the title using words from the DIE CUT TILES pack and an EPHEMERA piece

To the right of the middle cluster I added pits from the EPHEMERA PACK, ACCESSORY STICKERS sheet and EPIC TALES paper

And lastly added clusters of stars (my 2nd favourite design element after florals) to the top right and bottom left of the layout to create a diagonal effect. I also added a few enamel dots and splatters of gold colour shine to finish it off.

Well friends thats all from me today. I hope you've enjoyed seeing an extra layout from me this month. I cant wait to continue creating and sharing with you all next month!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

HIP KIT CLUB | Because when you stop...

Hello Scrappy Friends It's me again. Back today with a new layout share for HIP KIT CLUB. I was tasked with creating a layout using ONLY the Main kit - February 2020 my kit of choice as thats the only month I have at the moment. I kept things quite simple, as thats how I roll, and I really like the end result. Even if it did take multiple hours to complete due to my indecisiveness haha

2020.03.26 HKC BECAUSE WHEN YOU STOP staged

I started the layout using a piece of white cardstock, half of the raindrop paper from Pink Paislee (PAPER 19) and part of the border strip that was on top of that sheet. I experimented with different configurations of torn strips using only those 3 pieces and made the final decision to keep it simple. Straight lines.

2020.03.26 HKC BECAUSE WHEN YOU STOP

Across the centre of the layout I adhered a quote from DR. Seuss that can be found on the  RIGHT NOW paper. I felt it was the perfect accompaniment for this photo as it really didn't need a title. I layered multiple block colour pattern papers under the photo that coordinated with the colours within the raindrop paper, and added a scalloped rainbow strip sticker from the BLOOM STREET sticker book under the quote card.

HKC BECAUSE WHEN YOU STOP 3

I also tucked in a few chevrons (PAPER 24 - Pink Paislee - Bloom Street) to the right side of the photo, and tore the edge of the ENCHANTED BLOOMS paper so that things weren't too straight and perfect.

HKC BECAUSE WHEN YOU STOP 2

Next I gathered pieces from the NOTEWORTHY ephemera pack, fussy cut flowers and leaf stems from PAPER 12 to create one massive floral cluster of sorts above the quote card. I love a good sized floral cluster! I also added in a sprinkling of stickers from the BLOOM STREET Sticker book and went to town with the NUVO drops

HKC BECAUSE WHEN YOU STOP 1

At the very top of the layout I filled in the blank white space by adding a couple of things that tied the entire layout together. Then splattered the whole layout with some gold colour shine because I just cant help it!

HKC BECAUSE WHEN YOU STOP 4

Well friends thats all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Throwback Thursday | Hello Sweet Smile

Hello Crafty Friends I'm back here today with another instalment of Throwback Thursday for Cocoa Vanilla Studio. For this creation I was given the task of using one of our more recent older collections, if you could call them that HAHA. I chose to create something with the Midnight collection as that is one that I haven't touched for a little while. I focused on using the Large Die Cut without the backing sheet which you can find HERE in the store

I started the layout by removing the die cut from the backing sheet - its lightly adhered so that you can remove and create your own way. I used similar patterns and colours to what is already on the backing sheet along with some vellum and left the outer rim open. I then adhered it to the INSPIRED pattern paper using foam tape. I LOVE the mixed media effect this pattern paper gives a layout which is perfect for this 'clean' scrapper.

I layered a couple of frames from the ephemera pack with a piece of pattern paper to create a base for my photo, then added multiple ephemera pieces and stickers to create one large cluster under the title.

At the top left of the layout I added a some florals from the sticker and ephemera packs, a couple of enamel dots, heart and tab sticker.

I replicated similar items along the bottom right to create a diagonal effect on the layout.

Lastly a sprinkling of my favourite gold colour shine to finish it all off.

Thats all from me today. Short and sweet just like the process of creating this layout. I hope its inspired you in some way, and that you will share your creations with us in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community group on Facebook.

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, Happy Scrapping!

HIP KIT CLUB | You Make My Heart Flutter

Hello Scrappy Friends I'm back today with a new layout share for HIP KIT CLUB!! I finally received my box full of HIP KIT Goodness and was able to start creating a little magic using the February Kits. Loads of pretty bits and bobs from Pink Paislee and Pink Fresh within the Main and Embellishment Kits - perfect for creating a Mood Board Inspired layout.

2020.03.22 HKC YOU MAKE MY HEART 1

I drew inspiration from the pompom tassel garland through the middle of the mood-board and knew exactly where I wanted to take this layout. I'll share a photo of the mood-board towards the end of this post.

2020.03.22 HKC YOU MAKE MY HEART

For this layout I wanted to document a photo of my daughter Leila and nephew from a couple years back and had intentions of adding a fun puffy alphabet title. In the end I felt the layout didn't need such a big title and all the elements combined felt complete enough.

I created a large cluster within the middle of the layout and scattered mini clusters from there. I started by using a large envelope and tag from the 'Journalling Bits' pack (Embellishment Kit) to create a place for the photo, and to the right of that I added a tag from the Pink Paislee Bloom Street ephemera pack that can be found in the February PL Kit. Next I fussy cut chevrons from the #24 paper by Pink Paislee, punched circles from other papers in the main Kit and grouped these with other circular elements found within the ephemera and puffy sticker packs. Theres also some sweet sentiment tags tucked in here and there from the Pink Fresh ephemera pack (Main Kit)

I added a couple of fussy cut flowers and leaf stems from the floral paper by Pink Paislee #12 and added them to the mini clusters. I used a range of adhesive techniques for the clusters - from machine stitching through the chevrons to using using glue dots or foam tape to give a slight dimension on others. The rest I simply glued down using a tape roller or my favourite quick dry glue. Theres even a few staples here and there.

And lastly added a sprinkling of gold colour shine and droplets of the Nuvo Crystal Dots from the main kit. I love that little pop of dimension they create, similar to a really tiny enamel dot.

Before I head off here's a closer look at the March Mood Board designed by Lauren - please be sure to play along with us in the Member Forum group on Facebook. We love to see what you all create with these kits!

HIP KIT CLUB | Recipe Challenge | Wild & Crazy

Hello Hello! I'm back again with a new layout share for HIP KIT CLUB. This layout features tonnes of colour from the February 2020 Kits, including pretty papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee and Pink Fresh Studio. I created this for our recent Weekly Challenge within the Hip Kit Club Member forum on facebook, this one being a recipe.

Love how this all came together to document a few funny face photos of Leila from a few years back. I've used a pattern paper for the background paper to give the effect of using mixed media. Something most of you would know I rarely do as I just don't do mess.

Heres a look at what the recipe entails...

Love those crazy faces!

Like many crafty peeps on the HKC Design Team I've chopped up the Bloom Street chevron paper from Pink Paislee (#24) and arranged it across the centre/right side of the layout in a semi rainbow order. I adhered all pieces to the background then added machine stitching to random pieces.

I was sneaky and used 2 different sides of 1 pattern paper to layer behind the photos. In my books it still counts as 1 paper haha. I layered the photos across the middle of the chevrons and tucked the frame to the right to become the base of one of the clusters including a 'B&W' accent piece

To the left of the photos I added some ephemera pieces and a gold heart

A cluster of goodness along the bottom of the layout along with a multi 'font' title - handwriting and puffy alpha stickers

and lastly a mini cluster along the top of the layout using similar embellishments to the other 2 clusters. I've also gone to town with the gold colour shine splatters to finish it all off.

Thats all from me today folks. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until Next time, happy scrapping!

CUT to YOU | You are my Sunshine

Hello friends its Michelle S back here today with a new layout to share with you all. I chose an older file to create with from the CUT to YOU store, a background design that I could use as the base to my layout - Heart Burst. This paired with the stunning new collection from Paige Taylor Evans = a match made in heaven

The pattern paper was quite thin so I cut the design out on white cardstock and joined them both together to create a little extra thickness.

I adhered the entire design to the backing cardstock using glue dots and tiny staples before creating one massive photo and florals cluster

I layered complimentary patterns and colours to the photo stack and adhered these over the top of the cut file using foam tape for a little added dimension

To the right of the photo I added multiple ephemera pieces and florals to create a title and stretch the large cluster across the page

At the top of the layout I added a couple of elements to bring it all together then splattered the entire layout with some gold colour shine to finish it off.

Well thats all from me today, thank you so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out the CUT to YOU store to find all the NEW and FUN cutfile designs, and don't forget to share your creations with us in the CUT to YOU Facebook group.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping
