CUT to YOU | You are my Sunshine

Hello friends its Michelle S back here today with a new layout to share with you all. I chose an older file to create with from the CUT to YOU store, a background design that I could use as the base to my layout - Heart Burst. This paired with the stunning new collection from Paige Taylor Evans = a match made in heaven

The pattern paper was quite thin so I cut the design out on white cardstock and joined them both together to create a little extra thickness.

I adhered the entire design to the backing cardstock using glue dots and tiny staples before creating one massive photo and florals cluster

I layered complimentary patterns and colours to the photo stack and adhered these over the top of the cut file using foam tape for a little added dimension

To the right of the photo I added multiple ephemera pieces and florals to create a title and stretch the large cluster across the page

At the top of the layout I added a couple of elements to bring it all together then splattered the entire layout with some gold colour shine to finish it off.

CUT to YOU | Have I told you...

Hello Hello! A new month already? That means its time to share a new layout for CUT to YOU. There's just been a NEW release of cutfiles in store this month but I thought Id share the love with something older from the shop for today. I chose the super fun Squiggles Background Cut File which was such a good background to use to create this fun layout of Leila.

I kept the file quite large, ensuring that it would fill most of the background up. I cut it out on pattern paper from the Lucky Us collection using my silhouette and adhered to the background cardstock using raised glue dots under each messy cluster. As simple as that. No altering the file or chopping it up like I've done in previous shares. Keeping it simple today.

I chose a couple of fun photos of Leila from the night before her last birthday. She was 'posing' for her annual 'last day of' photo and making some hilarious faces, most of which were too blurry to use on a layout.

I used the same pattern paper from the cut file to use as the backing border of the entire layout to bring it all together and used complimentary patterns to back the photos along the middle of the layout

To the left and right of the photos I added clusters of ephemera pieces and stickers. Over on the right I also added a mini title on top of the cluster.

Theres a couple extra bits n bobs tucked in here and there and a sprinkling of enamel dots, my favourite embellishment to add to a layout

I really like the crazy messy look this file gives the layout without having to actually get messy. You can find it in the store HERE

Lastly I added a strip of washi tape and some stickers under the title cluster then a splattering of gold colour shine to complete the layout

CUT to YOU | BEE my Valentine

Hello Friends, it's new layout share day for CUT to YOU. We had a challenge within our CUT to YOU HQ group on facebook recently - for Group members to choose a certain file that YOU wanted to see shared by our DT on upcoming layouts. One particular file that was mentioned, and I felt was perfect to document during the month of Love was BEE MY VALENTINE.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this layout came together using the BEE MY VALENTINE file along with the FLORAL WREATH cut file that I layered underneath. I used the Lucky Us Collection from Pink Paislee to continue to the lovey dove theme I had happening, and a sweet photo of my little family from many moons ago.

To begin the creating process I enlarged both designs in silhouette studio, traced, edited and cut both designs out on plain white cardstock.

Prior to cutting the Bee and title on cardstock I separated the Bee from the letter M so that I could have 2 complete pieces - Bee and Title. I did this by copying the file twice and using the eraser tool (outline selected) to cut the Bee away from the M on one, and the M away from the Bee on the other. This ensured that both the M and the Bee cut out in whole pieces and could be used on different areas of the page.

I backed the bee with papers from the 6x8 pad in the collection I used along with some velum for the wings. I also added a cut apart strip, hearts and stickers to finish the cluster

For the title piece of the cut file I used a text pattern paper for the words and 2 darker pink patterns for the hearts. I also recut the hearts squiggle on more cardstock to give a little extra dimension to the sweet hearts in the middle of the title.

I created a photo stack on a slight angle to the left of the hearts squiggle and added a couple of other heart elements to fill the gaps

I also cut a majority of the leaves off the FLORAL WREATH as they weren't sitting quite right under the title, but I felt the layout needed a circular element to bring it all together. I left the wreath flat on the backing paper and raised the Bee Cutfile and title up off the layout using thin foam tape for that slight lift and dimension.

CUT to YOU | OH SO Pretty

Hello Hello, Its me back again today with a new layout to share with you all for CUT to YOU. I've used an older cut file designed for use in Travellers Notebooks for this creation, but as you can see its perfect for layering into a 12x12 page.

I cut the INTERSECTING HEARTS design in silhouette studio on a bright pattern paper from the Paige Evans Whimsical collection. It's approximately 11 inches long from top to bottom. I used the same pattern paper for the base of the layout, under the white cardstock background, to make the cut file and photo stack really pop. I adhered the file to the cardstock using my tiny attacher.

Next I gathered a few other pattern papers from the same collection to layer behind the photo, I've even tucked in a few ephemera pieces

The photo I chose to document is one of Leila and her favourite bear from a couple years back, they were pretending to be Kind and Queen. So cute!

I kept the embellishing pretty simple with a few more ephemera pieces and a small title, plus a splattering of gold ink and some hand written journalling.

KEEPIN' IT REAL | The Cut Shoppe

Hi Everyone, I'm back today with a new layout share for The Cut Shoppe featuring that fun free cut file from last month. It's also my very last share here as a designer for TCS and I'll be honest, I am NOT ready to give it all up 😭😭😭 I have loved my time on the team, and am very thankful to Ashley for having me here this past year. Its truly been an amazing team to be apart of and one that I'm not ready to say goodbye to! But sadly I must.. 

Ok enough with the overly emotional start to the blog, lets get back to the fun stuff.. Creating and sharing.. Here's a look at what I created, using the messy circular hearts design from that free cut file set, which you can find HERE..

I kept the layout design pretty simple using the cut file design on the left, a cluster of photos off to the right, and a strips of pattern paper along the bottom to tie it all together. I've used 6x6 papers from the Take me Away collection by Pink Paislee to back the hearts and circles, plus added some co-ordinating papers behind each of the photos to ensure that the layout blended together well. 

As there was so much colour, and multiple photos, I felt that I shouldn't overpower the layout with embellishments so I kept them super simple using the big floral die cut piece and gold foil chipboard from the same collection. The sequins and tiny word stickers were from my stash of random things.

I layered the photos around each other on a diagonal and balanced out the colour yellow from the hearts by placing a piece of pattern paper under the far right photo. The 'love ya' piece was from part of the tear off tab from the top of the 6x6 paper pad. 

The photos I've documented here seem to be a regular occurrence in my camera roll. Leila loves to climb into tubs and boxes rather than sitting on a chair, the floor or the couch lol Such an imagination she has.

Well, sadly this brings us to the end of my layout sharing for The Cut Shoppe.

Hello Love | The Cut Shoppe

Hello Hello! I'm back today with a new layout share for The Cut Shoppe featuring the April Showers cut file set and an older Pink Paislee collection - Hello Sunshine.

I had a lot of fun documenting this photo of muddy puddle jumping. It's not very often that we get a warm day with rain to run and jump outside, but on this day the rain just bucketed down!

I've used the scalloped cloud design upside down, and then upon finishing realised I probably should have used it the other way up to replicate clouds rather than just messy scallops. Either way I still really like the way its turned out. All the pieces are backed using 6x6 papers from the collection

I kept the embellishing to a minimum as the scallops gave plenty of colour to the layout and I wanted them to stand out just as much as the photo.

I've combined 2 of the cloud designs to create my title, using the Hello cloud and the dangly 'love' piece from the other cloud.

And lastly a super quick photo stack using pattern papers and some die cut pieces..

Amazing Cheeky | Scrap The Girls

Happy New Year Everyone!! 

Today not only marks the start of a new challenge month for Scrap The Girls, but also the last for the current team of Designers. I've loved my time on the Design Team, and can't wait to see what the new team Inspires us with. 

This Months challenge is another Mood board, one which challenged me completely! 

The colour palette is quite a stunning combination, however after searching my entire stash, it seemed to be a combination that I was going to have a hard time replicating. So rather than use in as displayed I took inspiration from it to create this..

I chose papers and die cut ephemera from the Moonstruck collection by Pink Paislee to create the layout as it has very similar colours with the dark blue hues, darker pinks (rather than the plum and reds) and gold. I also chose a mint pattern that a hand drawn design similar to that of henna work. 

2 super cute photos of an almost 3 year old Leila.. Cheesy smiles began really early with this one HAHA

I love ephemera pieces! They're perfect for gathering together within layers to fill a void on the page

They also work perfect for adding a fun title to the page,

and grouping in smaller clusters to finish the page off and to balance it out.
