CUT to YOU | You are my Everything

Hello Hello! Here I am, back again to start a new month of layout share's. Todays layout is for CUT to YOU featuring one of the fun NEW cut files released this month. As February is know for being the month of LOVE I went with a little lovey dove rainbow theme documenting my 2 loves.

We have a super sweet collection of new cut files this month, and my favourite of all is the Rainbow Love one. Perfect for documenting these 2 in their little love bubble.

I enlarged the design in silhouette studio to fill a good portion of the background paper and cut it out on white cardstock. I used multiple different pattern papers from the Dear Lizzy 'She's Magic' collection to back the individual layers of the rainbow - in rainbow order of course.

Once all pieces were backed I adhered them slightly above the centre of the layout. I had planned on adding some journalling to the layout, but felt it didn't need any once I had completed all the other elements.

I added the photo to the frame and adhered over the right of the cut file, a TONNE of foam tape was used on this layout to create different heights of dimension between all the pieces

Over on the top left I added a little cluster of elements to fill the blank space and to balance it all out. I also adhered the entire layout to a cut apart paper to give an extra pop of colours around the edge.

Well thats all from me today. But before I go, did you happen to catch our most recent Newsletter? Heres a sneak peek if you missed it.. Be sure to SIGN UP for regular updates - 2 newsletters per month = 2 FREE cut files. Who doesn't LOVE a freebie??

Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to check out all thats NEW in store HERE, and share all things CUT to YOU within the CTY HQ group on facebook.

As always, until next time - Happy Scrapping

Hello Super | Scrap The Girls

Hello Hello! Can you believe we're another month further into the year? Heck it's going way too fast, and it's only going to get busier!

For my layout share today I have a new DT Sample for Scrap the Girls. This months challenge was a mood board featuring a shoe theme, so I chose a photo of Leila wearing a pair of my super comfy slipper boots. This teamed with the awesome Glitter Girl collection by Shimelle for American Crafts and I was off and crafting.

Heres a closer look at what I created

Such a fun collection to create with, full of bright colours and bold patterns. I chose to stick with a mostly pink colour palette with pops of yellow, navy and teal and kept the embellishments to a minimum to ensure the photo took centre stage.

Heres a quick look at the mood board for the month, which is sponsored by both Flutterby Designs and Accent Scrapbooking, so be sure to get your entries in via the website HERE

I didn't really follow an exact theme, other than to scrap a photo of Leila wearing shoes. This was a challenge in itself as more often than not we don't get her feet in the photos!

Here's some close ups..

For this creation I chose papers from both the 12x12 sheets and the 6x6 paper pad and embellished with items within the ephemera pack, sticker book, glitter thickers set and the embellishment pack (enamel dots and sequins)

I found the entire collection available through Scrapbook.com and it still looks to be available HERE

Super quick handwritten journalling finishes off the layers under the photo

And a last minute addition to the bottom of the layout before taking the photo to complete a visual triangle and creating balance with the bold colours.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to stop past the STG blog to see the other DT members creations, and to link up your creations for us to all see.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Crazy Hair | Scrap the Girls

Hello Scrappy Friends!!
The first of the month = a new challenge for Scrap the Girls, and this one was definitely challenging!
We have a brilliantly Blue board to share today

Before I share what I came up with, I would like to apologise for the photo quality in this post. Not the best weather and lighting here recently so they are overly edited

Here's what I came up with..

I've mixed a few papers from my favourite collections by Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Amy Tangerine, plus a few scraps from my scraps box to make the layers beneath the photo. Then added pieces of a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, and loads of embellishments from D-lish Scraps.

Here's some close ups

Mini cluster made of paper flowers, heart cut outs, arrow die cut

I've tucked a circle journal it from D-lish Scraps within the paper layers and labelled with the date

I separated the individual heart shape pieces from the main cut file and scattered them diagonally across the page

I also may have gone a little crazy with this cluster.. Full of D-lish goodness, I just couldn't stop lol

Finished off with some glittery thickers from American Crafts above a cluster of flowers, heart cut file and circle journal it.

Although it was a challenge to use so much blue, I really enjoyed it.
I hope you get the chance to play along and share your creations with us over on the Scrap the Girls blog. Be sure to link up to enter the prize draw!

Until next time
Happy Scrappin!

Love you so | Masters Challenge 5 - American Crafts

Hello Friends!
Today's layout share is another Scrapbooking Memories magazine Masters Challenge layout..

This challenge was sponsored by American Crafts, and they sent us the Dear Lizzy Documentary Collection to create with.. Pretty much the Entire collection!! I had no idea where to start as there was endless ideas! AC products are my go to 'brand' for creating with

Here's what I came up with

At the time of creating this I was really inspired by so many circle based layouts. I liked the idea of a scattered diagonal layout made up of clusters of different sized circles, mixed with a few smaller shapes.

I raised some with foam tape, sewed some down for dimension, and layered in smaller pieces in different shapes

Theres always a doily poking out of somewhere.. I can't help it! I also sewed a rough border around the area of the photo stack, just because :)

I love the colours that are within this collection. Pastels and brights all mixed in together make my heart sing

This title actually took longer to make then the rest of the page! I couldn't decide what to use, where to put it, what to say or even if it needed it at all. I came up with this, and am really happy with the end result.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to keep your eyes peeled over the next few days for some exciting scrappy news!!

For now, Happy Scrapping

Be Happy

Hello fellow crafters
Im back to share another layout I made with the January 2015 kit from A Piece of Cake Designs.
I couldn't share this after I made it, as it was picked up for publication by Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. You can see it in print within Vol 18, Issue 4

The papers and embellishments within this kit were so pretty.
Very me, and very suitable for layouts of Leila.

Featuring lots of Dear Lizzy prettiness, including a cut apart paper title :)

Ive managed to sneak a few pieces of my 'signature' doily into this layout.. They seem to be appearing on everything Ive made lately! They're so pretty and delicate

As mentioned above, Ive used the Dear Lizzy cut apart paper to layer up and use as a title for the page. I like this for a change, rather than using alpha stickers

My usual multi layer layout is complete with the addition of my favourite vellum, and some tiny staples to keep it all together :) Who needs adhesive when you have a Tiny attacher

Thats all for today

Baby's first Selfie

Hello everyone!!
Today Im sharing a layout created last month for Scrappy Canary.. Whoops!!
Life got a little crazy towards the middle of June, and it hasn't really stopped since.
This layout was made with the May Sweet Treat kit, I have more layouts to share with the more current June kit real soon.

This page is documenting one of Leila's first selfies with Mumma. I went with soft simple layers, a signature doily and minimal embellishing. I love how it turned out

I almost added those hairpin words to my hairlip stash, but thought they looked a lot better on the page ;)

A mini mixed cluster using a Shimelle button, pink paislee glitter heart and a gold thicker star

I've dipped into my stash of letter stickers to add to the gold thicker title

And lastly a chipboard strip and sparkly gold heart to finish the page off

Thanks for stopping by
More to share with the newest kits very soon!
Happy Scrapping

Little Smoochers...

Hi Everyone
Today Im sharing a layout made using the Scrappy Canary May Add-On kit

This month I went a little crazy and ordered all 3 kits.. whoops. But in all honesty, why not? They're packed full of awesome products!

My favourite part of this kit was the 12x12inch glittery foam hearts. I knew I needed to make them the Hero of a layout, so this is what I came up with..
Little Smoochers, so darn cute! A captured moment on Mother's Day between Leila and her cousin.
I kept the layout itself quite simple, layering up papers from the Amelia paper pad. Minimal embellishments came from the kit, plus I dipped into my bits & pieces pack from the Pocket Life kit to add a few finishing touches

To keep my alphas stuck, Ive smothered them in glossy accents.

New Pj's

Hello Fellow Crafters!
Im back again to share my final page made using the February Scrapbook kit Brave

Ive got plenty left to keep creating with this kit, but a pile of off-cut scraps were calling out to be used
Super simple, and done really fast!
Ive lined up all the pieces to the right of the page, then set my photo stack slightly off centre

Some not so neat machine stitching around the photo and title for a little texture
I've popped the flower sticker up with some foam tape for slight dimension to the page

and minimal embellishing (seems to be my thing lately) around the page to finish it off
oh and don't forget the color shine splatters ;)

Selfie Addicts

Hey Everyone
Sharing another page I made using the Scrappy Canary Brave Scrapbook kit for the March Sketch Challenge.

These challenges are so much fun, and can be interpreted in so many ways.

A reminder of the sketch for you (Challenge has now closed)

Ive kept the same grid style sketch but changed it up slightly with the way I've blocked it out
I joined a couple of my squares together to form rectangles along the top and bottom, and made a photo mat with 2 papers from the Brave scrapbook kit under my square photos.

I've used some old Heidi Swapp alphas with some color shine rather than the thickers in the kit, as I felt the others were to loud for this layout

Minimal embellishing using stickers from the kit in clusters

And for something a little different for me.. I used an old dusty typewriter for my journalling
It reads
We seem to take so many selfies lately...
But, if thats the only way I can get a photo of you, i will take it.
Plus... its also lots of fun

I finished the page off with some machine stitching along random edges of pattern papers, and the full border of the white cardstock. I also matted the entire page to the "Brave" pattern paper

Thats all from me today, be sure to keep an eye out over the next few days for some exciting Scrappy news :)
