Project Life Week 37 - Life Paper Scrapbook October PL Challenge

Hello, Ive skipped a few weeks of Project Life to show you this one as part of the new Life Paper Scrapbook Monthly Project Life Challenge (wow that was a mouthful). This month we are challenging you to use SQUARE photos within your PL layouts. Most of us are familiar with Instagram or know how to crop a photo, so this one should be easy!

The photos Im sharing are all from my week 37 layout. Yes I am pretty much up to date! YAY

I had quite a few photos to use for this week so I wanted to keep it nice and simple. Ive used one of the new Becky Higgins Project Life Themed Card packs 'LOVE'.. As you can see the patterns on the cards compliment the photos well and are enough to focus on without needing any extra embellishments. This made it super quick to complete the spread.

I printed my photos in 3 sizes - 2 sizes of squares (2 inch and 3.7 inch) and the standard 4x6

For the green card, I cut 2 lines on the edges of the frame to slot the photo into rather than just sticking it straight onto the card.

I used minimal embellishments within the layout. Here you can see the new Days of the Week stickers and an asterisk from the Alphabet pack (both new release Becky Higgins PL products)

For this photos, I used a piece of a grid journal card with some washi tape to label the day the photo was from. Then Ive stapled the photo to the cards with my Tiny Attacher

On the right hand side, again no embellishing as the cards have enough excitement that they dont need anything extra. The bottom right date card shows 2 layered square photos with a date tab on top. The date tab was actually printed on the card and I have simply cut around the bottom with a craft knife to slide the photo under.

LOVE this themed card pack as much as I LOVE my square photos. I think Ive perfected the size I need to use for the 3x4 pockets. They dont take up too much space so there is still room for journalling.

Thats all from me today. Make sure to head on over to the Life Paper Scrapbook blog to check out the other Design team layouts and see the awesome prize we have up for grabs from our generous sponsor for this month Gossamer Blue

September Colour Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

Hello!! Its Team A's turn to share their creations for the September Colour Challenge at Life Paper Scrapbook.

This month we were given this colour palette to play with :)

And this is what I came up with (after 2 attempts)

Ive used some new and old products for this layout. I met a lovely friend while at a recent retreat I helped to organised and she was kind enough to share some of the new Finley collection from Glitz Design with me. The colours were perfect! Ive also used a piece of my favourite vellum from Dear Lizzy, although using the black cardstock behind doesn't show it off very well.

Heres a close up of a super cute Sequin bow that I purchased from D-Lish Scraps. These bows are super cute and are the perfect size embellishment for scrapping pages and even Project Life

I added a few wood veneer stars on top of the layers of patterned papers. YUM!

I hope you have drawn some inspiration from my layout :)

As per usual we have an awesome prize up for grabs for the winner of this months challenge. Head over to the Life Paper Scrapbook Blog to see all the details, check out the other design team layouts and load up your creations to win.

Until next time
Happy Scrapping!!

September Sketch Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

Its Sketch Challenge day at Life Paper Scrapbook.. I had a lot of fun creating this layout

Our sketch for the month

And this is what I came up with...

Ive used papers and embellishments from the Amy Tangerine 'Yes Please' collection teamed up with some Give a Girl a stamps, sequins, a couple of paper doilies and a camera flair from A Piece of Cake Designs. Ive also experimented with my gelatos on the background, to tone down the paper a little and give a slight hint of extra colour.
I used a journalling card in the extra photo position, and went mad with Kellie's stamps from the Currently set
Love these alphas. I have many packets!

Love APOCD's cherry flairs for an added element to a page.

A close up of where I have used the gelatos to give the paper a slight metallic sheen. Definitely having fun using gelatos in different ways.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I came up with for this months Sketch, cant wait to share the next one.

Sponsor for this months Sketch is Polly Scrap Kits, a small Australian kit club that offers monthly kits for scrapbooking and project life.

Polly scrap Kits will be giving one randomly selected participant in the LPS Sketch challenge a free Project Life kit. In addition, based on the submissions to this challenge, Polly! will be inviting one person to be a guest designer for an upcoming kit! How awesome is that

Project Life Week 31 - Life Paper Scrapbook

Massive apology for this not being posted when the LPS blog post went live!! I have a great reason - Ive been busy busy running a Project Life stand for Craft House at the Paperific Scrapbook show in Melbourne. Its on again tomorrow (Sunday 1st September) Pop by and say hello if you are in the area.

Life Paper Scrapbook has a brand new monthly Challenge starting this month, and it involves my favourite subject, Project Life. Our challenge this month was to show layering within Project Life. I think I managed to complete this spread well.

For the weekly mini title card I have layered a veneer frame over some journalling labels with some pretty sequins for a little bling.

This is the full layout for the week.

The left hand side features my favourite cards from the LPS Day to Day kit. Lots of added layers on this side.

A close up of one of my most favourite journal cards, with some slight changes. Love how it turned up.

For this card, I cut the journal tab off the 4x6 car and attached on top of the photo with my tiny attacher, then added a few of the words from the tiny text sheet in Add on kit 2

I didnt have a lot of photos for the week so I resorted to using a design E pocket page protector to make some mini 6x6 layouts to document our Sunday :)

Layers of pattern paper from the paper pad and 4x6 cards underneath the photo of my nephew.

Lucky last - a pic of my yummy lunch that I sent through to a friend that day. Lots of fun bits n bobs added to the bottom left of the card.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I have inspired you all to add some extra layers into your project life spreads.

Head on back to the LPS blog to share your layered layouts with us to go in the running to win an awesome Prize from our ongoing Sponsor Gossamer Blue

August Colour Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

Its that time of month again! Time for another Life Paper Scrapbook Challenge!!
This week its the August Colour Challenge, and below is the colour palette to follow
These colours were so out of my normal scrapping range that I had no idea if I would be able to work with them. That was until I got my hands on some arty supplies (gesso & gelatos)

I started with a white cardstock base, a Heidi Swapp 12x12" mask, a tub of gesso and 5 gelato sticks and got my craft on! This was my first time using both gesso and gelatos so it is a bit of a mess! lol but I love it

I didn't take many photos of the process, but I will make another page soon and give a detailed explanation of how I made it.

Using the mask and gesso I made my own 'resist' background. Once that was dry I coloured over random hearts which looked hideous! I ended up smearing the colours across the page with a sponge. Some hearts stayed coloured, some cleaned right off, but its all a new learning experience for me and was a lot of fun!

I then raided my stash to see what I had to complement the background... That was tricky! I found a few papers in my 6x6 paper pad stash. The "smile" strip was from the top of one of them. I layered these up with foam tape on top of some Dear Lizzy crepe ruffle paper from the Neapolitan collection. I added some of my favourite textured mesh ribbon and a Flair from A Piece of Cake Designs

And this is how it all came together. I didn't add anymore to the title as I felt it didn't need anything more than the 'smile' strip, plus I couldn't decide on the right wording and didn't want to mess it up.

The white cardstock has warped slightly from the gesso and gelatos as I did use some water to smear the colours across the page. I have adhered the white cardstock to a piece of black cardstock to make it stand out more.

Head on over to the Life Paper Scrapbook blog to check out the other designers work - There are so many awesome layouts from the team this month! And be sure to link up your layouts, there is an awesome Amy Tangerine prize pack up for grabs from American Crafts!

Project Life Week 30

Another week complete YAHOO!

Week 30 featuring the Jade Project Life kit by Becky Higgins

Again Ive stuck to kit cards only, photos and a pen. Arrows have been cut from 3x4 journal cards with a double arrow punch.

Ive used a couple of stamps on this side, my trusty date stamp and the star stamp that was in a set from Give a girl a Stamps. The photos of the Royals were borrowed from a lovely online friend of mine Beth from the Project Life Australia group on Facebook. Fantastic group for sharing inspiration within!

The glitter alphas I've used are from Typo that were out on clearance a few months back.

Loving how quick and easy these weeks are coming together when I stick to the basics :)

And thats where Im caught up to so far!

Project Life Week 29

Continuing on with my simple approach for week 29, using the Blush Project Life Kit

The full week - No inserts for this week as I managed to fit everything into the weekly spread YAY
The colours within this kit are so pretty. Definitely another favourite that will be perfect to document Leila's years growing up.

I didnt add much extra to this weeks layout. I used a circle punch on one of the 3x4 journal cards to create the Love this embellishment. I also cut banners out for the bottom of the photo from 2 other journal cards. (I now have alot of chopped up cards from the previous weeks layout and this one. All will come in handy for cutting down to journal on)

I attached the Instax photos straight to the 4x6 card with my Tiny attacher. Fantastic tool to own if you dont already. The alphas I have used within the layout are both Basic Grey.

Short and sweet for this week.. up next is a layout featuring the Jade core kit..
Loving this simple approach!
