Project Life Week 22 - Studio Calico Atlantic Collection

Another layout to share with you all today is my Week 22 layout
This layout was featured in the latest issue of Life.Paper.Scrapbook Online publication

Ive used the Studio Calico Atlantic Range. If you haven't guessed yet, I do prefer to stick with one collection for each layout or a kit from a kit club. I do still occasionally use some Project Life Specific products with added extras from my stash.

Loving the colours and patterns in this range. Im definitely going to keep pulling this lot out for other projects.
I ummed and ahhed as to if I would keep this card free of any journalling or embellishments, however there was more story I needed to add into the week and I thought it was perfect for this card.

The cork embellishments I have used are all from the Atlantic collection, the Pink Thickers are Amy Tangerine, and the black tape is from my SMASH labeller.

The right hand side is very busy, but its documenting a lot of things from this week. I especially love the mini confetti pocket I made with the Atlantic sequins and some twine.

A close up of the middle 3x4 pockets. LOVING those glitter stars

And how lovely are those pink Thickers!

Hope to have more to share with you in the next day or so, just waiting on some better light to come through the windows. Still need to invest in that light box!

Project Life is a concept designed by Becky Higgins. It is a range that works anyway you want it to. You don't have to embellish your layouts or use any extra products like I do. You can easily record an album full of memories with just a Core Kit, bulk pack of page protectors and a 12x12 Album. I purchase all my core products from Craft House - Exclusive stockist for Australia and New Zealand.

Project Life Week 21 - Studio Calico Card Kit

Finally found some time to sit down and complete some blog posts that I have sitting here. I am completely caught up with Project Life as of last week, so I have a few weeks to share with you over the next few days
First up is Week 21

For this layout I have used the Studio Calico Neverland Card Kit
The weather we have been having here lately is shocking! So these photos were again taken in bad lighting outside - I definitely think its time to invest in a light box of some sort - any suggestions ?

The left hand side features some stamping and mist splatters, both of which don't show up very well in this light. I am trying to go back to the less is more approach so have mainly stuck to enamel dots for embellishing and those Alphas I AM IN LOVE!! The Hello Friday card is from a recent card swap I participated in.

In this photo you can see a slight shimmer effect on the journalling. This is where I have used the stamp that came in the kit along with some silver momento ink.

Again more shimmery silver ink, on this card I used the lid of the mist bottle that was part of the kit and used it like a stamp all over the card to highlight the month and in random places.

For the right hand side I've used the High Five card for the title card. This came as a vertical 4x6 card but I have cut it down to fit it on the horizontal card with some washi strips. Very little embellishing on this side also. I think I much prefer the less cluttered look for the moment (I know I will change my mind in weeks to come) The mask I have used on the Demo Day card was also part of the kit. And yes, very sad that only 1 person showed up for my Project Life Demo.

A close up of the banners I cut out for this pocket were pieces of washi strips that i stuck onto white card to make them stand out more.

I hope you have enjoyed checking out this layout. I was certainly a lot of fun to create.

Life.Paper.Scrapbook Issue 2

Issue #2 of the Online Life.Paper.Scrapbook Magazine has gone live!! Check it out HERE
There is a fantastic mix of projects and designers in this edition

Thought I might share a more detailed post of the layout I submitted as part of the Design Team.

I have used papers and embellishments from the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection. LOVE LOVE LOVE the colours and designs in amongst the papers
I cut down a 12x12 piece of 'South Hampton' paper (pink side) to 8.5x11". Im finding that I like making more layouts in this size than any other as the page doesn't look as bare if Im using a smaller photo.

The other papers Ive layered up under the photo are from the 6x6 paper pad. I also added some vellum from a previous SC release and the 'Love you' tab is from a journalling card from the Sundrifter collection (also by Studio Calico)

Another technique I find myself using on pretty much all of my layouts is distressing the edges of photos and papers. Ive got an old pair of blunt scissors which I run along the edges of the paper, and a nail file for the edges of photos.

The thickers used are from the 'Yes Please' collection by Amy Tangerine. (Chip thickers Goodness/Watercolour)

Other embellishments Ive used are the Cork Arrows, Circle stickers and Glitter stars from the Atlantic Collection, plus a doily and some scattered sequins from my stash.

Stay tuned for more details on the Project Life layout I had featured with this.

June Colour Challenge - Life Paper Scrapbook

Today Im sharing my layout for the June Colour Challenge over at Life Paper Scrapbook

This was a super rushed layout this month as I was pushing for time to get it ready!
Also super crappy photos due to such crappy weather (excuses excuses hehe)

This was the colour palette we had to follow
I found it quite tricky to match exact colours as my stash is very limited. Since completing the layout, I have found other items I could have used instead  (always the way lol)

This is what I came up with
Ive used papers from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm range, plus American Craft thickers - no idea on the name as they were loose in a basket. The doily was given to me awhile back in a swap online. the other embellishments were from the Lucky Charm coloured chipboard thickers pack.

And a close up of the layers and distressed edges.
I think this is my go to technique when making layouts, Love a nice roughed up edge.

Theres a super cool prize pack up for grabs for the winner of this challenge.. Details over on the LPS Blog post. Hope you can join us this month.

Project Life Week 20 - Polka Dot Creative

Ive got a stack of layouts to share over the next few days..
Starting with my Week 20 Project Life spread..

Ive used the May Mini Kit from Polka Dot Creative. Love these mini kits, they are stuffed full of inspirational goodness! Excuse the not so great photos - yet again :( I really need to invest in a light box of some sort as the weather seems to be getting worse for photo taking!
Ive pretty much used every single item that was in the kit, including the brown paper packaging.

The left hand side - Leilas new shoes, a card for mum, leilas new trick, food coverage and a playdate filled up this side of the spread.

A close up of the confetti pocket and PDC stamp from the paper bag.

The exclusive stamp that was part of the kit - stamped onto a doily for something different. The wood veneers are stamped with some silver ink to give them a big of shine. The stitched heart was from my stash.

The right hand side covers a trip to the hairdressers, Wiggle time and a crop day I attended.

LOVE this hand stamped tag that was in the kit, and the Maggie Holmes paper.

Close up of a card I made for a recent card swap, with a photo of a layout I made at the Crop day for someone else.

Check back in tomorrow for the latest Life Paper Scrapbook colour challenge.

Project Life Week 19 - A Piece of Cake Designs

This week features the May Cake Kit from A Piece of Cake Designs

I love how versatile these kits are. I can use a 4x6 piece of each paper and some embellishments and still have plenty left over for traditional layouts.

There were lots of photos to use this week but I had an idea of how I wanted it to look so I stuck with both design A pages.

I added in some packaging from a stamp set that I had received that week from Kellie - Its so hard to open up her pretty packaging!!

We are having such a fun time with Leila right now! Riding horses, playing with boats and cars and dolls. The alphas are from the Simple stories sticker sheet that were included in the kit. Ive attached the twine with my tiny attacher.
Close up of the journalling card, flower and alphas all from the kit.

On the right hand side I had more photos to use to document Mothers Day. Leila wasn't too interested in giving anyone presents, more so running off with them lol

I have used the banner stamp that came with the kit (exclusive design by Kellie) straight onto the vellum and then cut out and stapled onto the photo with the tiny attacher.
Ive added in a few doilies here and there from my own stash. Have I said how much I love this kit??
Ive also used a piece of goodness from the May Polka Dot Creative kit which I am using for the following weeks layout.. LOVE Jodie's confetti pockets.

And lastly a close up of the exclusive stamp - Ive used black and silver ink one on top of the other to make it stand out more.

Thats it for this week :)
I will be back soon with more
