Lush Lemon Layout

A quick post to share a layout I created this morning featuring the Lemon Lush papers from Studio Calico. These papers were part of the gorgeous March Cupcake kit from A Piece of Cake Designs.

The idea for this layout came to mind at midnight just before falling asleep, It actually turned out better than I had pictured. Hope you like it

I started with the Teresa Collins hearts mask and the twinkling h20 pot and went to work adding random hearts around the Kraft paper. I then hand cut strips of different sizes from the 6x6 papers within the kit and overlapped them along the page, and sewed them down with my trusty (dusty) sewing machine. I layered the photo on top of some vellum and more pattern papers, stapled the XOXO and stuck down some sequins and stars and called it done :) Although I think it needs some journalling somewhere..

The photo was taken this morning while I was starting the page, I had a different photo in  mind to use, but this view right here is something we see regularly in this house. Leila still in PJs wearing a xmas Tutu and her 'dancing shoes'. Normally she's dancing around to Angelina Ballerina, however this morning it was all about the new talking Cat app on the tablet (It repeats everything you say and came pre loaded on the kids tablet).

There are still a couple of kits remaining in the store HERE Head on over and snap one up before they all disappear. I can't wait to see what else my imagination creates with this kit.

Peach Cooler with D-Lish Scraps

Its time for another Inspiration Board with D-Lish Scraps.. YAY
This is the last board for the Autumn Creative Team.
I have loved being part of this each month! Its been so much fun creating traditional pages for Leila
Cannot wait to see who is announced for next season, and to see what they produce

This months board is full of soft pastels, colours I don't normally go for when creating, so this was a challenge for me. But one I took on quite well, well at least I think so lol

My layout did turn out more pink than peach, but I still love it very much!
A lot of the photos we take of Leila lately all look like this, and the response? "No smile today"

D-Lish Products used within this layout
Freckled Fawn Dew Drops - Ombre Pink
Freckled Fawn Dew Drops - Ombre Yellow

Other Products

'Stone' Staz On ink pad

A close up of my hidden journalling within the paper bag. Ive held it in place with a camera paperclip and embellished with a freckled fawn dot. My 'Tiny attacher" got a work out as usual, attaching the hello tab above the photo. Im forever saying "HELLO.. SMILE" to Leila every time we try to take a photo.

I used the straws to pop the photo up above the page. Both the flower and butterfly are stuck down with glossy accents, my go to adhesive for thicker embellishments.

You can't see it in the photo, but there are more straws under the photo, which the flowers have been slid into, then petals glued down with more glossy accents. Ive also layered up the Journal It's and attached with more tiny staples.

To finish off the layout Ive dated and added another Freckled fawn enamel star, dot and another resin butterfly.

Head on over to the D-lish blog to see the other Creative Team layouts. Lots of inspiration and details on how to enter into this months competition.

Project Life JANUARY 2014

FINALLY!!! Sharing with you the first few weeks of our 2014 album…
(yes yes i know I'm still yet to share the remainder of our unfinished 2013 albums)

A couple of changes to how Im recording life, both in the album and here online.

Starting with how I am documenting life and memories within the album - Some weeks we don't have many photos, some we have too many. Im choosing to document as much as I can. Some weeks are documented within 1 side of a layout, some with a double page layout. Im trying my best to get the most out of a certain subscription that I have been receiving collecting/hoarding each month. It always has the perfect amount of cards and embellishments to complete more than just the one weeks layout. And everything co-ordinates perfectly without needing to add anything else in.

As for documenting online, Ive decided, that rather than trying to post each week with only 1 layout to share, I would combine all layouts for the month within 1 post.

So Today I share with you weeks 1 - 4
If you have any questions regarding any thing I have shared, please leave a comment below.

The first pages you see once opening the album. This years cover page is completely different to what I have done in previous years… I also wanted to have our weekly photos start from the very first page.
Ive used a Hambly Screen Print from Polka Dot Creative. These are now sold out, I stocked up on quite a few many months ago. The 2014 card is from Studio Calico's weekly cards pack

Week ONE - January 1 - 5
Perfect amount of photos for a 1 page layout..

Week TWO - January 6 - 12
A lot more stories and photos to document, including an OMG moment!!

Week THREE - January 13 - 19
There is an insert for this week, although you can't really tell, but its hiding some personal memories.

Week FOUR - January 20 - 26
Again not too many photos for this week, but how cool is that Washi Tape along the middle row!

Thats all for this update, I have 2 more posts ready to go over the next few days for February and March pages. YAY for being almost up to date!! Lets hope it stays that way this year

Michelle xx

Life is always better with a smile

Hello to all you crafty ladies (and gents) out there

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter long weekend, I managed to squeeze in some crafty time in amongst working and family time.

Sharing a layout with you that has been an idea in my head for a few weeks. Something similar was shared within the Project Life Australia group and I knew I wanted to scrap lift part of it.

This is by far one of my favourites! I can't stop looking at it lol

Ive used cards and papers from the Kiwi Project Life Collection that can be found at Spotlight.

The Life is better card was the starting point for the layout, I knew this had to be one of the main cards used!

Originally I had planned on just using the cards and Kraft paper for the back ground, then I remembered the paper pack that I had to match the kit so I swooped on that and found the perfect piece.
Ive layered the Hearts paper on top of the Kraft paper with a piece of vellum to dull down the colours.

I distressed the edges of the cards with some blunt scissors and stuck everything down with my favourite roller glue tape and a few tiny staples. Added a couple of enamel dots, veneer pieces and some letter stickers, then sewed around the edges and called it done!

This layout took me no longer than 30 minutes max! I love when it all comes together so easy.

Linking this up to the Life Paper Scrapbook April Mood board Challenge as it works perfect with the colours chosen for this month. Its been awhile since I shared anything within the LPS community, Im definitely missing being part of that fun team!!

Happy Scrapping!
